primary and conditionally primary forests -- map of ground vegetation -- dynamic tendencies -- Holocene -- biodiversity -- homeostasis

Аннотация: Making the map of ground vegetation and analysis of its present state have been realized as well as dynamic tendencies in development of forest communities from climatic optimum of the Holocene up to the present time have been revealed. Forests of the reserve are mainly overmatured. Presently the succession of mountain taiga- and grass larch and pine forests by fir stands occurs. As a reason for changing formation composition of the main forest forming tree species of the reserve the global climatic changes of the northern hemisphere are. Floristic abundance of forest communities is characterized by high variability. a-diversity increases from the mountain taiga altitude - vegetation belt to the belt of subtaiga forest-steppe what corresponds to the increase of heat providing gradient. High coefficient of beta-diversity value variation in taiga and grass forest ecotone as well as in old cutting areas of light-coniferous forests shows instability of these phytocoenoses and rather fast succession of coenoelements of light-coniferous formations by the dark-coniferous ones.

The effect of individual genetic heterozygosity on general homeostasis, heterosis and resilience in Siberian larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.) using dendrochronology and microsatellite loci genotyping
/ E. A. Babushkina [et al.] // Dendrochronologia. - 2016. - Vol. 38. - P26-37, DOI 10.1016/j.dendro.2016.02.005 . - ISSN 1125-7865

Climate change -- Dendrochronology -- Environmental stress -- Heterosis -- Homeostasis -- Individual heterozygosity -- Microsatellite markers -- Radial growth -- Tree ring width -- Larix -- Larix sibirica

Аннотация: The genetic mechanisms underlying the relationship of individual heterozygosity (IndHet) with heterosis and homeostasis are not fully understood. Such an understanding, however, would have enormous value as it could be used to identify trees better adapted to environmental stress. Dendrochronology data, in particular the individual average radial increment growth of wood measured as the average tree ring width (AvTRW) and the variance of tree ring width (VarTRW) were used as proxies for heterosis (growth rate measured as AvTRW) and homeostasis (stability of the radial growth of individual trees measured as VarTRW), respectively. These traits were then used to test the hypothesis that IndHet can be used to predict heterosis and homeostasis of individual trees. Wood core and needle samples were collected from 100 trees of Siberian larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.) across two populations located in Eastern Siberia. DNA samples were obtained from the needles of each individual tree and genotyped for eight highly polymorphic microsatellite loci. Then mean IndHet calculated based on the genotypes of eight loci for each tree was correlated with the statistical characteristics of the measured radial growth (AvTRW and VarTRW) and the individual standardized chronologies. The analysis did not reveal significant relationships between the studied parameters. In order to account for the strong dependence of the radial growth on tree age the age curves were examined. An original approach was employed to sort trees into groups based on the distance between these age curves. No relationship was found between these groups and the groups formed based on heterozygosity. However, further work with more genetic markers and increased sample sizes is needed to test this novel approach for estimating heterosis and homeostasis. © 2016 Elsevier GmbH.

Krasnoyarsk forest-steppe -- birch stands -- ground layer -- species -- composition -- anthropogenic factors -- phytomass stock

Аннотация: The vegetation cover characteristics of anthropogenically disturbed birch stands of Krasnoyarsk forest-steppe are studied. The research purpose is to study the current state of under-story vegetation cover of the birch stands, which have been exposed to recreational and anthropogenic impacts for a long time, as well as to assess the degree and nature of its change over the 12-year period since the last research. The studies were carried out on the sample plots laid out in mixed herbs birch stands. Cenosises are characterized by V-VI age classes, II-IV quality classes, and 0.6-0.9 density of stocking. The birch stands are located in the main transfer of Krasnoyarsk industrial emissions. Phytocenoses were under significant anthropogenic and recreational impact for a long time. At each facility, 30 sites (1 m(2) each) were laid, where species composition, horizontal and vertical structure, projective cover and occurrence of undergrowth and forest live cover species were assessed. The comparative analysis of floristic lists was performed using the Sorensen-Czekanowski coefficient (K-sc). The degree of species diversity was estimated by using the Shannon index; the degree of recreational transformation - synanthropization index. Cuttings were taken from 10 sites (20 x 25 cm each) for recording the phytomass stock of forest live cover on each sample area. Plants were cut off at the litter level, sorted by species, dried and weighed. Rating scales of digression were used to study the recreation influence. The degree of anthropogenic impact was determined by the content of toxic ingredients in plants of living ground cover. It is found that the toxic elements concentration in plants does not reach excessive values at which homeostasis disturbance happens. It was concluded that the changes in vegetation cover observed in 2017 in relation to the state of 2005 are more due to recreational than anthropogenic impact; which changed due to the introduction of a new technology at the JSC "RUSAL Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant", which made it possible to reduce toxic industrial emissions. According to the study results, the species composition of the undergrowth and forest live cover was determined, the features of its change over a 12-year period were revealed. It is noted that species diversity has decreased and the proportion of synanthropic species has increased across all plots. Total forest live cover phytomass and individual species phytomass are determined at each plot. The regularities of change in different species contribution to the total stock of phytomass, depending on recreational impact changes, were identified. The ground cover recreational digression stages are determined by analyzing the changes in species diversity, the quantitative ratio of ecological-cenotic groups, the structure and the absolute value of phytomass.

Changes in Siberian Fir Crown Architecture under Impaired Homeostasis
/ E. V. Bazhina // Biophysics. - 2020. - Vol. 65, Is. 4. - P642-648, DOI 10.1134/S0006350920040041 . - ISSN 0006-3509
Аннотация: The crown of the Siberian fir (Abies sibirica) is characterized by a specific organization, namely, a narrow-pyramidal form, apical dominance, tiering by types of sexualization, and whorled branching. The gravitational vector is clearly manifested at all levels of the organization of the crown, that is, in the architecture (diageotropism of branches), morphostructure (dorsoventrality of tissues and organs of shoots, as well as the location of reproductive organs in the tree crown and on the shoot), and physiological processes. It was shown that the internal state of the tree is a determining factor in graviperception. When Siberian fir trees weaken, the diageotropism of branches is lost, which can serve as a universal biomarker of impairment of homeostasis. © 2020, Pleiades Publishing, Inc.
