Аннотация: The soil formation was studied in the 21- to 35-year-old pine plantations created on the overburden dumps of the Nazarovskaya Depression without applying the material of the humus horizon. The surface technogenic formations under the pine plantations belong to the group of naturfabricats (surface formations devoid of the humus horizon and composed of natural substrate). The morphological characteristics, bulk chemical and particle-size compositions, and labile properties of the soils indicate that the accumulation and transformation of organic matter are dominant processes in the artificially planted forests. The accumulation of organic residues and destruction and humification are tightly related to the environmental conditions transformed by the technogenesis and conceal other processes forming the soil profiles. Quasizems created for agricultural production purposes were the objects of the study. They were formed by covering the technically planned overburden rocks with the material of humus layers. The thickness of the humus horizons of the quasizems varies greatly (25-64%); the variation of the humus reserves in them is 34-122%. Middle-profile horizons have not been formed by the present time.

Organic substances in the artificial forest ecosystems created on overburden dumps of open-cut coal mines in Middle Siberia

Аннотация: The stock and structure of organic substances in the pine tree plantations on the overburden dumps of open-cut coal mines in Middle Siberia have been determined. It has been shown that the forming forest biogeocenoses differ from the natural phytocenoses and soils of the forest landscapes in the structure of the carbon pool and its distribution between the vegetation and soil components. In artificial forest ecosystems, the bulk of the plant component is accumulated in the aboveground part of the forest stand (40-59%). The aboveground grass cover contains only 0.1-1.4% of the total phytomass stock of the ecosystem. The annual accumulation of organic substances in the initial soils amounts to 0.28-1.45 t/ha.

Seasonal development dynamics of microbocenoses and complexes of invertebrates on overburden heaps of the Borodinskoye brown-coal mine (KATEK)
/ A. V. Bogorodskaya [et al.] // Geography and Natural Resources. - 2010. - Vol. 31, Is. 4. - P330-338, DOI 10.1016/j.gnr.2010.11.005 . - ISSN 1875-3728
Аннотация: We have investigated the seasonal-dynamics parameters of functioning of microbocenoses and invertebrate complexes on overburden heaps of different ages as well as the recultivation technology for of the Borodinskoye brown-coal mine. The 20-year-old overburden heap with typical natural reforestation and formation of a coarse-humus horizon was characterized by the largest balance of microbiological processes of organic matter destruction, and by high numbers and diversity of microarthropods. The youngest heaps are characterized by an unbalance between organic matter mineralization-immobilization processes and predominance of pioneer invertebrate groups in the community. В© 2010.

Biological activity of waste dump substrates in the eastern part of the Kansk-Achinsk coal field

Аннотация: The results of a field experiment for studying the seasonal dynamics of the CO2 (R-all) emitted from the overburden and enclosing rocks of a coal mine are presented as an integral index of their biological activity. The mean rate of the CO2 emission from the control substrate was 1.2 g C/m(2) per 24 h. The intensity of R-all for the variant with the application of mineral and complex fertilizers, along with a microbiological preparation, was higher by 28 and 34%, respectively. In the same variants, the R-all values little changed during the whole growing period. The measurements of the potential respiration of the rock mixture in the laboratory showed that a significant part of the CO2 flux was formed at the expense of carbon dioxide of abiotic origin. The values of the CO2 emission are concluded to be overestimated as compared to those for the real level of the biological activity of the substrates studied.

Biodiversity assessment in the area of olimpiada mining and processing plant, Polyus Krasnoyarsk
/ T. V. Ponomareva, N. M. Kovaleva, A. S. Shishikin, E. I. Ponomarev // Gorn. Zh. - 2020. - Vol. 2020, Is. 10. - С. 48-53, DOI 10.17580/gzh.2020.10.02 . - ISSN 0017-2278

Аннотация: This article addresses some problems connected with the assessment of biodiversity in the area of Olimpiada Mining and Processing Plant, Polyus Krasnoyarsk. The outcome of two years-long (2018– 2019) integrated monitoring of natural and manmade eco-systems is presented. The main landscape types are identified using satellite images and route observation data. The structure of habitat on the natural landscape and in the disturbed areas is estimated, with identification of: the sites with pronounced environmental impact of mining (overburden and waste rock dumps and slopes, manmade water reservoirs and banks); abandoned or reclaimed manmade objects; urban territory of the miners settlement; control (baseline) sites (pyrogenic-nature and primary forest, valley and flood-plain planting). It is emphasized that the soil cover and the thermal background in the test territory has been essentially transformed, which can greatly affect local biodiversity. Inspection of the natural and manmade eco-systems in the area of Olimpiada MPP has revealed 177 species of plants, including 153 species of higher vascular plants, 14 species of mosses and 10 species of lichens. The flora of vascular plants represents 46 families and 112 kinds. The species resistant to anthropogenic transformation are identified. The fauna biodiversity is represented by 34 species of mammals (Mammalia) from 5 orders (insect-eating, rodents, carnivores, cloven-footed and wing-handed animals) as well as by 110 species of birds Aves). The marker species are specified for monitoring of small mammals and birds in the test region. The research findings point at the required monitoring of biodiversity both in the territory of the mining and processing plant and in the adjacent undisturbed baseline area. © 2020, Ore and Metals Publishing house.
