Аннотация: The magnetoresistance (MR) of substituted lanthanum manganite (La0.5Eu0.5)(0.7)Pb0.3MnO3 has been measured in a pulsed magnetic field with amplitude H = 250 kOe at various temperatures. It is established that temperature dependence of the MR relaxation parameter tau(T) is correlated with temperature dependence of the electric resistance R(T). A mechanism of relaxation is proposed that is related to the relaxation of conducting and dielectric phases in the volume of a sample under the conditions of phase separation. It is shown that the behavior of tau is related to the number of phase boundaries in the volume.

Аннотация: The correlation between experimental magnetic field dependences of magnetoresistance and magnetization hysteresis in granular YBa2Cu3O7 is established. Within the proposed approach, magnetoresistance is assumed to be determined by the effective field in the intergrain boundaries the ensemble of which is considered to be a Josephson medium. The effective field in the intergrain medium can be written in the form B (eff)(H)=H-4 pi M(H)x alpha, where alpha is the parameter of averaged demagnetizing factors of grains and the degree of flux compression. A comparison of experimental magnetoresistance R(H) and magnetization M(H) hysteresis dependences obtained at different external magnetic field sweep rates yields the value alpha similar to 10, which is caused by the flux compression between grains. The proposed model describes well most of the features of the magnetoresistance hysteresis in granular high-T (C) superconductors.

Аннотация: A Pb(II) complex with ceftriaxone (H2Ceftria) antibiotic was synthesized by reaction of ceftriaxone disodium salt (hemi)heptahydrate with lead nitrate in water–ethanol medium. The complex was characterized on the basis of complexometric titration, spectrophotometric and thermogravimetric analyses, capillary electrophoresis, IR, Raman and UV–vis spectroscopies, and density functional theory calculations. Pb(II) is five-coordinate with distorted square pyramidal geometry. The coordination of Ceftria2− to Pb(II) occurs through N and O of the triazine, lactam carbonyl, carboxylate, and amine groups. The antibacterial activity study showed that Klebsiella pneumoniae is resistant to [Pb(Ceftria)]·3H2O. The antibacterial activity of [Pb(Ceftria)]·3H2O against Staphylococcus aureus is reduced compared with ceftriaxone. In contrast, the antibacterial activity of [Pb(Ceftria)]·3H2O against Escherichia coli is 28% higher than that of ceftriaxone antibiotic.

Аннотация: The time evolution of the magnetoresistance of bulk YBCO + CuO composites at T = 4.2 K in constant applied magnetic fields was studied to clarify the mechanism of hysteretic behavior of magnetoresistance R(H) of granular HTSC. The composites represent "model" granular HTSC with weakened Josephson coupling between superconducting (YBCO) crystallites. It was found for the first time that on the ascending branch of R(H) dependence, the resistance at H = const decreased with time while on the descending branch, the resistance increased with time in ail applied constant magnetic field. In the range of low magnetic fields (below the minimum point of the descending branch of the R(H) dependence), the resistance at H const decreased again. Similar measurements performed oil pure polycrystalline YBCO at T = 77.4 K have shown that the behavior of evolution of resistance with time is similar to that observed for the composite. This proves the peculiarity of time evolution of maignetoresistance to be a common feature of granular HTSCs. The behavior revealed is well described by the model Of granular HTSC, where the intergrain media is in an effective magnetic field which is the superposition of the external field and the field induced by superconducting grains. The time evolution of resistance reflects the time relaxation of magnetization of HTSC grains due to the intragrain flux Creep Processes. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Electron transmission through an ac biased quantum point contact
/ A. F. Sadreev, K. . Davlet-Kildeev // Phys. Rev. B. - 2007. - Vol. 75, Is. 23. - Ст. 235309, DOI 10.1103/PhysRevB.75.235309. - Cited References: 41 . - ISSN 1098-0121

Аннотация: We consider a transmission through the potential relief created by a split gate constriction (quantum point contact). Simultaneously, dc and ac voltages V-up(t)=V-0+V-1 cos omega t and V-dw(t)=V-0+V-1 cos(omega t+theta) are applied to the gates. We show numerically that the in-phase ac voltages (theta=0) smear the conductance steps of the stationary conductance, while the antiphase ac voltages (theta=pi) only shift the conductance steps. Moreover, computation of currents in probing wires connected cross to the time-periodic quantum point contact reveals a net current for theta not equal 0,pi. This implies that the Schrodinger equation described by the electron transport under the effect of the time-periodic long electrodes is equivalent to the transmission in the crossed effective magnetic and electric fields, where the in-plane magnetic field b similar to theta is directed along the transport axis and the electric field e similar to omega is directed perpendicular to the plane of electron transport. Then the vector exb gives rise to the galvanomagnetic current directed cross to the electron transport.

A perfect spin-filter quantum dot system

Аннотация: The discovery of a novel effect in the transport through a QD spin-dependently coupled to magnetic contacts is reported. For a finite range of source-drain voltages the spin projections of the current cancel exactly, resulting in a completely suppressed output current. The spin down current behaves as one normally expects whereas the spin up current becomes negative. As the source-drain voltage is increased the spin up current eventually becomes positive. Thus, tuning the source-drain voltage such that the spin up current vanishes will result in a perfect spin filter.

Аннотация: The field dependences of the magnetoresistance of Bi(1.8)Pb(0.3)Sr(1.9)Ca(2)Cu(3)O(x) samples with different densities, which have a foam microstructure and exhibit different diamagnetic responses, were studied at 77.4 K to identify the mechanism responsible for the formation of a negative magnetoresistance region in granular high-temperature superconductors. A region with negative magnetoresistance was found to exist in samples with magnetizations highest in absolute magnitude. This behavior finds a reasonable interpretation as due to the effect exerted by dipole moments of high-temperature superconductor grains on the effective intergranular field. The strength of this effective field has been estimated.
