Аннотация: В коллективной монографии, посвященной 100-летию со Дня рождения выдающегося российского ученого Владимира Яковлевича Леванидова, рассмотрены вопросы гидрохимии, геоморфологии, биоразнообразия, структуры и функционирования пресноводных экосистем российских рек, показано их современное состояние. Приведены данные по фауне, систематике и распространению амфибиотических насекомых, моллюсков и пресноводных рыб, а также флоре водорослей. Обсуждаются экологические представления о роли редких таксонов при оценке сходства и видового разнообразия донных сообществ лотических систем. Рассмотрена структура группового и видового состава сообществ донных беспозвоночных рек по биомассе и численности, на основании полученных данных определено экологическое состояние водотоков. Книга представляет интерес для гидрохимиков, геоморфологов, гидробиологов, ихтиологов, гидроэнтомологов, биогеографов, специалистов рыбохозяйственной науки и охраны окружающейсреды.
In the collective monograph devoted to the 100 anniversary since the birth of outstanding Russian scientist Vladimir Yakovlevich Levanidov, questions of hydrochemistry, geomorphology, a biodiversity, structure and functioning of freshwater ecosystems of the Russian rivers are considered, their current state is shown. Data on fauna, systematics and to distribution of aquatic insects, mollusks and freshwater fishes, and also flora of algae are provided. Ecological notions of the role rare taxa at the assessment of similarity and species diversity of benthic community composition in lotic systems are discussed. The group and specific structure of communities of the bottom invertebrate of rivers on a biomass and number is considered, on the basis of the obtained data the ecological condition of water currents is defined. The book will be interesting for hydro-chemists, geomorphologists, hydrobiologists, ichthyologists, hydroentomologists, biogeographers, fishery ecology and conservations specialists.

Аннотация: В связи с возрастающей биосферной ролью лесов изучение вертикально-фракционного распределения фитомассы и продукции разных органов древесных растений в толще лесного полога приобретает все большую актуальность. Дистанционное зондирование Земли сегодня эффективно используется при оценке различных параметров лесных насаждений, в том числе структуры их фитомассы. Для калибровки результатов современной аэрокосмической съемки и разработки цифровых 3-D моделей лесного полога необходимы наземные данные о вертикально-фракционной структуре деревьев и древостоев, стратифицированные по ярусам и фракциям фитомассы. Однако сегодня при активном зондировании растительного покрова его структура не учитывается и описывается физиками с позиций теории «мутных сред» либо как случайная дисперсионная среда. В настоящем исследовании на примере сосняков естественного и искусственного происхождений предложен альтернативный подход, показана многофакторная природа вертикально-фракционной структуры фитомассы деревьев и результаты ее аналитического описания. С учетом опубликованных результатов по горизонтальной структуре древостоев на тех же пробных площадях, изложенных в монографии автора «Продукционные показатели и конкурентные отношения деревьев: исследование зависимостей» (2013) можно перейти к описанию пространственной структуры надземной и подземной фитомассы древостоев на уровне 3-D моделей. Автор пошел на существенное увеличение объема предлагаемой и предыдущей книг за счет включения приложений со всеми исходными материалами в надежде на то, что эта база данных послужит основой для разработки имитационных моделей пространственной структуры фитомассы лесных сообществ и что при этом не возникнет обычная в таких случаях проблема нехватки эмпирической информации

Аннотация: Впервые сформирована сводка данных о фитомассе (кг) более 7300 модельных деревьев (из них более 70 % приходится на Россию) 30 лесообразующих древесных и кустарниковых пород Евразии, измеренной на пробных площадях. Она охватывает территорию 22 стран Евразии. Полученные закономерности изменения надземной и общей фитомассы деревьев позональным поясам северного полушария различаются для древесных пород и по некоторым породам не соответствуют известным обезличенным по породному составу трендам синхронного снижения биологической продуктивности лесного покрова в направлении от тропиков к обоим полюсам. В связи с повышением континентальности климата в пределах одного зонального пояса фитомасса деревьев сосен, лиственниц, елей и пихт снижается, но увеличивается у деревьев берѐз. Впервые разработаны регрессионные уравнения и таксационные таблицы для оценки фитомассы деревьев и кустарников по высоте и диаметру на высоте груди для наземной таксации и по высоте и диаметру кроны – для лазерно-локационного зондирования лесного покрова. Полученные результаты могут быть полезны при оценке приходной части углеродного цикла в лесных экосистемах и при осуществлении мероприятий по стабилизации климата.

Аннотация: Microcatchment water harvesting (MCWH) improved the survival and growth of planted trees on heavy soils in Eastern Kenya five to six years after planting. In the best method, the cross-tied furrow microcatchments, the main annual increments (MAI; based on the average biomass of living trees multiplied by tree density and survival) of the total and usable biomass in PROSOPIS JULIFLORA were 2787 and 1610 kg ha-1 a-1 respectively, when the initial tree density was 500 to 1667 trees per hegtare. Based on survival, the idigenous ACACIA HORRIDA, A. MELLIFERA and A. ZANZIBARICA were the most suitable species for planting using MCWH. When both survival and yield were considered, a local seed source of the introduced P.JULIFLORA was superior to all other species. The MAI in MCWH was at the best distinctly higher than that in natural vegetation (163-307 and 66-111 kg ha-1 a-1 for total and usable biomass respectively); this cannot satisfy the fuelwood demand of concentrated populations, such as towns or irrigation schemes. The density of seeds of woody species in the topsoil was 40.1 seeds m-2 in the ACACIA- COMMIPHORA bushland and 12.6 seeds m-2 in the zone between the bushland and the Tana riverine forest. Rehabilitation of woody vegetation using the soil seed bank alone proved difficult due to the lack of seeds of desirable species. The regeneration and dynamics of woody vegetation were also studied both in cleared and undisturbed bushland. A sub-type of ACACIA-COMMIPHORA bushland was identified as ACACIA REFICIENS bushland, in which the dominant COMMIPHORA species is C.CAMPESTRIS. Most of the woody species did not have even-aged populations but cohort structures that were skewed towards young individuals. The woody vegetation and the status of soil nutrients were estimated to recover in 15-20 years on Vertic Natrargid soils after total removal of above-ground vegetation

Аннотация: The static tree pulling method, strength and components of anchorage, structure and dynamics of root systems and the influence of stemreduction strategies on allocation of biomass and wind stability of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) were analyzed. Concluding , that the wind stability is supported by implementing 'the lowest possible stem number in early years and the highest possible stem number in older age", a decreasing thinning intensity with increasing age (from D-Grade (very heavy thinning) to A-Grade (non-thinning) was proposed. The book describes the natural ecological basis for wind resistance of Conifers.
