Аннотация: The BBA's sovereign and administrative tasks are to inform and advise the Federal Government in the field of plant protection, to testing and authorise plant protection products, test plant protection equipment, and keep the plant protection equipment list. BBA research has the aim to develop methods and systems serving to protect plants and plant products and avert dangers which may arise to the health of man and animal or to the envirnment from crop protection measures. Fields of research are, in short, the biology of harmful organisms (viruses, bacteria, fungi, animal pests, weeds); diagnosis of plant diseases; prognosis etc.

Аннотация: The forests of the Earth are not only the source of a wealth of products such as timber, pulp, and charcoal, but are also of great importance in the absorption of carbon dioxide. Therefore, it takes little cosideration to understsnd the dangers of overexploitation caused by economic development and population growth. With an eye on forest coservation and increasing carbon dioxide fixation, exploration of the extention of product life and expansion of product recycling plays an important role in the sustainable utilization of forest products. To that end, technology must be developed both to make use of and to preserve the forests. The arguments put forward in this book are broad and diverse, but the contributors have a common goal - the sustainable exploitation of forest resources in tandem with a greater awareness of the environment. This approach is sure to be valuable to all those who are concerned with making the best possible use of the world's forest resources.
