Кл.слова (ненормированные):
dendrochronology -- wood -- tree species -- stem

Аннотация: In the last 20 years dendrochronology as a research field on its own has grown significantly and acquired a permanent role in ecology, climatology, geology, archeology, and history. Presented here are the morphological, ecological, and anatomical characteristics of different tree species and their relationship to tree-ring research. Each species is introduced by an illustration of its exterior form and described in such a manner as to make it adaptable and comparable to chronological, ecological, and climatic studies. Further, the soil, climatic and ecological conditions as well as the species distribution are presented, and microscopic representation, mostly cross sections, define the tree-ring sequences. Brief summaries of preveous dendrochronological studies show how the species have been used in the past.

Кл.слова (ненормированные):
analysis, meteorological data, coniferous

Аннотация: The symposium revealed a wide range of subjects for discussion for which tree-ring analysis is able to offer answers and solutions. Wide view of dendrochronology was given from around the word. All the contributions can be taken as an indication that dendrochronology is a lively and successful science.l

Аннотация: This atlas describes the anatomical basics of dendrochronology and wood technology. It gives a unique assemblage of microscopic slides of wood and bark anatomy and demonstrates the reaction of stems to different environments. It provides insight into the evolution of wood, to the variation of wood anatomy in responce to climate and disturbances, and it gives an introduction to the methodology used to study wood. Special attention has been given to the unique feature of secondary growth.
