Аннотация: Female sex hormones are produced in both females and males. They influence almost every aspect of human physiological functions, activities and behaviours. Disturbance in female sex hormones may result in variety of disorders including cancer. Attention is usually focused on female sex hormone-related cancers in reproductive organs in females such as breast, cervix and ovary. However, advances in science have discovered that female sex hormones also have a great impact on cancers in non-reproductive organs and tissues such as colon, esophagus and thyroid in both men and women. This new book describes and summarizes the up-to-date information on an emerging topic of female sex hormones and cancer.

Аннотация: Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a form of cancer of the carcinoma type that may occur in many different organs, including the skin, lips, mouth, esophagus, urinary bladder, prostate, lungs, vagina and cervix. Аннотация: This work suggests and discusses possibilities for reductions of infection and prevention of DTR leaf-blight which may be accompished, by "classical methods of agricultural production" such as crop rotation, proper preparation of the seedbeds, suitable choice of wheat types, dressed seeds, optimal sowing and use of fungicides. For direct action against DTR leaf-blight in wheat, an early diagnosis of attack is of decisive importance to allow the best treatment with fungicides to be carried out. It is recommendable to use DTR fungicides at the very start of secondary infections (condia infections). With continuing +infection pressure, second treatments (and third treatments with mulched seeds) are necessary.

Аннотация: Miscellaneous observations on polyhedroses in several species of Lepidoptera are reported. The genera of Lepidoptera represented include Peridroma, Prodenia, Colias, and Heliothis. In the case of Peridroma, the data pertaining to a nuclear polyhedrosis were compared with those relating to a granulosis. Incubation periods, strain differences, cross infectivities, symptomatology, and the effects of certain stressors were determined or studied in individual instances. Also reported are new records of virus-diseased insects received as accessions for diagnosis
