Аннотация: Nanomaterials - substances smaller than 100 nanometers in size - have been added in recent years to an increasing numbers of consumer products used in day-to-day life; in food packaging, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, odor-resistant textiles and household appliances. The extensive application of nanomaterials in a wide range of products for human use poses a potential for toxicity risk to human health and the environment. Such adverse effects of nanomaterials on human health have triggered the development of a new scientific discipline known as “nanotoxicity” – the study of the toxicity of nanomaterials. Наноматериалы - вещества размером менее 100 нанометров - добавляются в последние годы во все большее число потребляемых продуктов, используемых в жизни изо дня в день , в упаковки продуктов питания, медицинское оборудование, в продукты фармацевтики, косметики, запахи, текстильные изделия и бытовую технику. Такое применение наноматериалов в широком спектре продуктов несет в себе потенциальную опасность для здоровья человека и окружающей среды.Неблагоприятные воздействия наноматериалов на здоровье человека вызвали развитие новой научной дисциплины, известной как "nanotoxicity" - изучение токсичности наноматериалов. Основные научные направления: биомаркеры для оценки nanotoxicity; nanotoxicity оценки гена в естественных условиях и в пробирке, моделей для тестирования ; nanotoxicity механизмы фармакокинетических наноматериалов; nanotoxicity продуктов, включая продукты питания, пищевые упаковки ; nanotoxicity наркотиков; nanotoxicity косметики и потребительских товаров ;nanotoxicity оценки безопасности наноматериалов, регулирующего воздействия наноматериалов .

Аннотация: Пищевые продукты, обогащенные витаминами, минеральными веществами и другими добавками, а также биологически активные добавки очень популярны среди потребителей, заботящихся о своем здоровье. Спектр вносимых микронутриентов и биологически активных добавок постоянно расширяется. В предлагаемой читателю книге обобщены технологические аспекты обогащения пищевых продуктов, разработки и применения биологически активных добавок, проблемы их безопасности и соответствующие нормативные акты. В первой части рассмотрены способы обогащения пищевых продуктов не только витаминами и минеральными веществами, но и такими нутрицевтиками, как полифенолы и полиненасыщенные жирные кислоты. Анализируются вопросы стабильности витаминов. Во второй части представлены главы по анализу витаминов и нутриентов, жирнокислотного состава, а также глава, посвященная оценке биодоступности нутриентов. Аннотация: Scientists of the world are confronted with the task of increasing plant productivity to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding world population for food and fiber without increasing the use of non-renewable energy resources. The availability of nitrogen in a utilizable form is a prerequisite for plant growth. In natural environments a delicate balance is established between the rate of plant growth and the supply of available soil nitrogen. The amount of nitrogen available in the soil is controlled by the rate of acumulation and nitrification of organic nitrogen and by the rate of attrition of nitrogen via leaching or denitrification.

Аннотация: Low-molecular-weight (volatile) radiolysis products of polymers were investigated by thermal desorption-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (TDS-GC-MS), a technique comparable to dynamic headspace analysis. The experiments have a two-fold background, namely, radiation sterilization of medical products and packaging in food irradiation; the main objectives were to allow a better assessment of the risks potentially associated with these techniques (safety evaluation), and to evaluate whether thermal desorption allows to distinguish between irradiated and non-irradiated materials (irradiation detection)

Аннотация: From the earliest times trees have formed part of man's environment, providing him with sources of raw materials, food and drink. The most useful species have been brought into cultivation and grown as crop plants. By breeding and selection, improved strains have been developed, methods of propagation worked out and, largely by trial and erroer, the most suitable cultural conditions for each species have been dicovered. Аннотация: Cage feeding of deer mice, and red-backed mice, showed a daily maximum seed consumption of lodgepole pine of about 1,000 seeds and of white spruce, of 2,000 seeds. There was no difference in the amount of seed consumed by the two species of mice. Lodgepole pine seed was preferred over white spruce. Meadow voles, radily are lodgepole pine and white spruce seedlings following germination. Red-backed mice also are seedlings but not to the same degree as the meadow voles. The deer mouse was not tested
