Аннотация: Geomorphology, the fascinating science that has landforms and their evolution. The study of landforms depends o largely upon the viewpoint we take. The relief of the earth's crust tends to change at a very slow rate, which, although varying with the resistance of the rocks and with climatic conditions, hardly ever creates any appreciable difference in landform within the span of a lifetime or even longer period. Both structural and climatological factors have to be taken into consideration in such attempts to reconstruct the landforms from which the present ones have been derived, or to visualize the landforms which will evolve in the future. The multitude of processes which form the mechanism of these changes has often however been rather neglected in this type of studies.Quite a different type of geomorphological studies, on the contrary, lays special emphasis on processes such as erosion, sedimentation, etc. and on the minor changes in the land caused by these processes in short period of time, for instance a few years, decades or centures. Occasionally occuring abrupt and sometimes even catastrophic phenomena such as landslides, volcanic eruptions and sudden changes in the position of river courses are more spectacular processes, and their effects in particular confron us with the obvious incorrectness of the concept of permanence of landforms
