Аннотация: Книга является первой монографией, всесторонне рассматривающей молекулярный состав, распределение, потоки, баланс и формы существования лигнина в гидросфере. Она основана на химико-аналитическом изучении и обобщении материалов 25-летних исследований лигнина в различных объектах гидробиосферы. В монографии приведены данные по лигнину высших наземных растений, мхов, лишайников, грибов, почв, морских водорослей, взвешенного вещества морских и озерных осадков, аэрозолей, коллоидного и растворенного. Отдельные разделы книги посвящены биосинтезу, структуре и разложению лигнина, его переработке на ЦБК и связанной с этим загрязнением морской среды. Наиболее полно рассматривается молекулярный состав фенолов лигнина морских донных отложений. Книга представляет интерес для широкого круга исследователей: океанологов, геохимиков, экологов, почвоведов, географов и всех тех, кто изучает круговороты природных и техногенных веществ в биосфере.

Аннотация: Beginning with a review on the biochemical strategies of synthesis and degradation of plant cell walls, with special emphasis in theire nature as wood composites, the following aspects of production of wood composites are presented: the possibilities of using tannins as adhesives; the use of potato pulp as matrix component and binder for wood composites; the mycological treatment of wood chips as a method for saving energy for the defibration for making wood fibres and reducing the demand for binders during the subsequent production of fiberboards; the use of white-rot fungi fro the decontamination of wood which contains organic wood preservatives as a way for the recycling of otherwise unrecyclable wood; the enzymatic activation of the lignin from wood fibres for the production of wood composites which are completely free from adhesives

Аннотация: The heating values of wood, inner and outer bark, and foliage components of seven small-s.ze tree species were studied. Significant differences were found between species within each component. However, the differences between species for weighted stem, crown and whole-tree biomass are very small. The weighted heating value of the crown mass is slightly higher than that of the stem in all species. The heating value of stem, crown and whole-tree material was found to increase with increasing latitude. The effective heating of wood correlated best with the lignin content, inner bark with carbohydrate, and outer bark with carbohydrates and the extractives soluble in alcalic solvents. It is suggested that the determination of the heating value might be used as an indicator of the cellulose content of coniferous wood.

Аннотация: The total extractive, Klason lignin and monosacharide (glucose, xylose, galactose, arabinose and mannose) content in wood, inner and outer bark and foliage of small-sized trees were studied. Chemical results from different parts of trees were compared within each tree species as well as between the tree species.
