Аннотация: Among the bacteria tested was the sporeformer Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner, which was found to be particulaly virulent for the alfalfa caterpillar, although larvae of certain other species were also susceptible to the bacterium. The present paper is a report of the results obtained in tests. Also presented are certain aspects of the biological control potentialities of other sporeforming bacteria, and some general considerations of B. thuringiensis as an insect pathogen
