Аннотация: This book shows how optimization theory can illuminate many branches of zoology and ecology. Its subject matter ranges from anatomy through biomechanicals and behavioural ecology to sociobiology. All are linked by the methods of optimization theory, the branch of mathematics concerned with finding structures and behaviours that are in some sense the best possible.
