Аннотация: The organisms listed in this book include only those that are directly, or in a few instances indirectly, injurious to living trees. Species, such as many wood-boring insects, whose attacks are restricted to fallen trees have been exluded. Weed plants, unless they are at least in some measure parasitic, have also been omitted. Many of the included tree species are most commonly, but not invariably, treated as agricultural crops, and on the borderline the inclusion of some and the omission of others must necessarily be subjective; the principle of including too much rather than too little has been adopted.
