The book includes accepted scientific names, literature citations, identification keys, summeries of habitats and geographic ranges, descriptions and chromosome numbers. It is illustrated with a great number of drawings, photographs and maps. This volume contains an index to species and genera belonging to 27 families (Taxaceae - Rosaceae).
