Аннотация: For many years, America has led the world in bringing about forest wastes and the forest devastation. As yet, only the foundation has been laid in forest renewal. The activity of man in brining about forest destruction makes the comprehensive study of reproduction on vast areas of utmost silvicultural importance. We cannot say at the present time what will be the accepted silvicultural practice on these areas. We can say that the difficult study and research that must determine the practice should be comprehensive. Through research and investigation of the forest, through the comprehension of the natural history of forests and through logical reasoning from cause to effect, silvics is rapidly taking its place as a science
