    MHD-Control of Gas Flow in the Tract Hypersonic Ramjet Engine

Аннотация: Nowadays in leading countries of the world active research has been conducted on developing the perspective hypersonic aerospace aircraft. One of the key directions of research on this problem is the development highly efficient hypersonic ramjet engine (HRE). It is known that the efficiency of HRE with supersonic flow velocities in the combustion chamber decreases with the increasing of flight velocities. The basic losses take place in the combustion chamber as firstly the relative losses of working capacity of gas is considerably increasing at the heat supply, secondly because of high speed of the flow the quality of fuel confusion with the air on the bounded length considerably deteriorates and the completeness of combustion declines. The remarks of estimates demonstrate that for this reason the application of HRE is bounded evidently with the Mach numbers of flight that doesn't exceed 11-12. At the same time the thermodynamic estimates demonstrate the considerable reserve on the specific characteristics. This reserve can partly be realized by the reconstruction of the structure of the current using MHD-interaction.

Аннотация: Nowadays both in Russia and abroad active research has been conducted on developing perspective hypersonic aerospace aircraft. The developing of such aircraft would allow to essentially expand aircraft possibilities and to reduce delivery cost of goods to the near-earth orbit. In many countries of the world there are programs of creation of hypersonic aircraft such as: HOTOL in Great Britain, NASP in USA, HERMES in France. One of key while conducting these projects is the creation of a hypersonic ramjet engine having necessary propulsive, mass and dimensional characteristics with all altitude range and flight velocities of an aircraft. The basic difficulties, in development of such engine types are caused by substantial of deterioration of quality of fuel mixture with an oxidant under supersonic flow velocities in the combustion chamber, which results in decrease of an engine efficiency and deterioration of its propulsion. To increase the efficiency of HRE with the supersonic flow velocity in the combustion chamber the authors offered MHD control of gas flow in the channel HRE based on creation in a stream of local plasma areas with temperature 104 K interacting with an external magnetic field [1], [2]. The work presents investigation results for the structure of non-stationary gas-dynamic flow in the channel HRE with MHD - control. It also describes the calculation of propulsion performance characteristics of the given engine on the basis of mathematical simulation of processes, which take place in the channel of an engine. Thee work objective was the research of non-stationary periodic flow with heat application in the tract HRE with MHD - control on the basis of mathematical modeling of processes which take place in the channel of an engine and the calculation of propulsion performance characteristics of an engine. In the work the model HRE including the air intake, MHD - channel and nozzle was considered. The MHD - channel is made of two flat electrodes and sidewalls from a dielectric. The local constant flow heat permitting to create periodical local plasma areas (T- layer) is provided with the systems of initiation the constant magnetic field in the volume of the channel is ensured with an external magnetic system.

    Efficient simulations of detailed combustion fields via the lattice Boltzmann method

Аннотация: Purpose – The paper aims to be a first step toward the efficient, yet accurate, solution of detailed combustion fields using the lattice Boltzmann (LB) method, where applications are still limited due to both the stiffness of the governing equations and the large amount of fields to solve. Design/methodology/approach – The suggested methodology for model reduction is developed in the setting of slow invariant manifold construction, including details of the while. The simplest LB equation is used in order to work out the procedure of coupling of the reduced model with the flow solver. Findings – The proposed method is validated with the 2D simulation of a premixed laminar flame in the hydrogen-air mixture, where a remarkable computational speedup and memory saving are demonstrated. Research limitations/implications – Because of the chosen detailed LB model, the flow field may be described with unsatisfactory accuracy: this motivates further investigation in this direction in the near future. Practical implications – A new framework of simulation of reactive flows is available, based on a coupling between accurate reduced reaction mechanism and the LB representation of the flow phenomena. Hence, the paper includes implications on how to perform accurate reactive flow simulations at a fraction of the cost required in the detailed model. Originality/value – This paper meets an increasing need to have efficient and accurate numerical tools for modelling complex phenomena, such as pollutant formation during combustion.

Аннотация: Experiments and numerical simulations were carried out for shear-driven two-phase flows in a confined volume of liquid under conditions of normal gravity. The geometry corresponds to a cylindrical liquid bridge surrounded by a concentric annular gas channel with external solid walls. The internal part consists of solid supports at the bottom and top, while the central part is a liquid zone filled with a viscous liquid and kept in its position by surface tension. Gas enters into the annular duct, flows between solid walls and upon reaching the liquid zone entrains initially quiescent liquid. The flow dynamics is governed by the Navier–Stokes equations in both fluids, which are numerically solved in the exact experimental geometry taking into account interface deformation by gravity. In the experiments 5 cSt silicone oil and air were used as test fluids and the flow was monitored by means of particle tracking velocimetry. The experiments were performed for unit aspect ratio (the ratio of liquid zone length to its radius), while the simulations of shear-driven flow were carried out for a wide range of parameters. A particular attention is focused on the effect of free surface shape and fluids viscosity contrast on the interfacial flow dynamics. The current study suggests a linear dependence between velocities of gas and liquid when the viscosity of the liquid is larger by two orders of magnitude than that of gas. Another relation is proposed when the fluids viscosity ratio, μl/μg, is less than 50.

Аннотация: We report the results of numerical and experimental studies of two-phase flows in an annulus. On numerical side the dynamical response of an isothermal liquid bridge to a coaxial gas flow is examined by simulations of the Navier–Stokes equations. The attention is focused on the following points: time-dependent formation of the equilibrium shape of a liquid bridge in gravity conditions and its deformation by a gas flow, simulation of a flow pattern in a liquid/gas system with deformed free surface. The comparison of the numerical and experimental results for the interface deformation exhibits a satisfactory agreement.

Аннотация: Blades of a three-blade boat screw propeller 40 mm in diameter chill cast from the AL2 alloy (11.2% Si; 0.4% Fe; 0.01% Mg; 0.02% Cu; Zn - traces) were studied. A method of correcting ultimate rupture strength ?v during tensile tests was suggested. Making allowances for ?v calculation results using the method described, the optimal conditions of thermocyclic treatment (TCT) of the AL2 alloy were chosen. TCT of the blades was carried out by the scheme 500-20В°C or 550-20В°C with the number of cycles n=3,5,7 allowance to stand for 10 min at the highest and lowest temperatures and cooling from the highest temperature in the final cycle either in the air or in water. The highest ?v values are attained after TCT by the scheme 500-20В°C (N=3) with subsequent cooling in water.

Аннотация: We study the effect of physical, chemical and biological processes on gas exchange of CO2 in the air-water system in Lake Baikal. Photosynthesis of aquatic biota is known to play a crucial role in changing the concentration of carbon dioxide in the water. Fluorescent methods are considered to be of high performance in problems of determining quantitative characteristics of biomass, however they require preliminary calibration directly for a specific type of plankton. In the pelagic zone of Lake Baikal the species composition, quantitative and spatial distribution of phytoplankton are characterized by strong spatial and temporal variability. Therefore, the fluorescent devices calibration on a single reference does not provide acceptable accuracy of quantitative assessment of the biomass. The results discussed in the paper were obtained by shipboard measurements during the Baikal campaign of 2010-2011. Correlation between the biomass in 25-meter water layer and the integral value of the fluorescent signal in this layer was obtained for calibration. The report discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the chosen methods and the results of retrieval of the vertical profiles of the biomass for stations in the pelagic zone of Lake Baikal in spring for the 2010-2011 biennium.

Аннотация: It is found that the nonlinear positive Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) trend of mountain taiga in the south of Krasnoyarsk Krai has been negative since 1999-2000. A comparison with the boreal belt of northern Eurasia showed that, though still nonnegative, the positive trend has distinctly decreased to nearly a plateau. A trend analysis of radiation temperature of the surface revealed that the temperature shows a decreasing trend for the selected region of mountainous taiga and an increasing trend for northern Eurasia. We compared air-temperature data from the Yermakovskoe meteorological station to eliminate a preliminary data-processing error. Regression analysis demonstrated a fairly high degree of correlation. Also, we found a quite high degree of correlation between time series and trends of air temperature and NDVI. Trends in air temperature in northern Eurasia according to NCEP-DOE Reanalysis 2 data also confirm the trend found on the basis of satellite data. © 2013 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Аннотация: The paper presents a method of recovery of gas flow pressure from the results of measurements by a piezoelectric pressure sensor in short-duration wind tunnels. It is assumed that the measuring system is a linear dynamic object. A quasisolution of linear Volterra integral equation of the first kind is constructed based on the condition that the equation holds on average in successive intervals into which the time interval of the measurement is divided. An experimental technique for determining the normal response of the sensor (transfer function) is proposed, and an example of recovery of air flow pressure in a wind tunnel is given.

Аннотация: To understand the mechanisms of formation of water quality it is necessary to study both biological and chemical properties of a lake as well as its hydro regime. For many years researchers have focused on the study of chemistry and biology of Lake Shira (situated in Siberia), but a detailed investigation of its hydro regime has become possible only recently with the development of modern measuring instruments. Using the latest generation of measuring devices we have obtained the hydrophysical characteristics of the stratified salt lake in situ (air and water temperature, wind strength and direction, water velocity). Relationships between the measured data have allowed us to analyze the flow in the lake as a whole, thus outlining the problem of determining lake ecological status in the period under observation. © SGEM2014.

Аннотация: In the paper, a mathematical model and a numerical algorithm are proposed for modeling the complex of phenomena which accompany the passage of a friable asteroid-comet body through the Earth's atmosphere: the material ablation, the dissociation of molecules, and the radiation. The proposed model is constructed on the basis of the Navier-Stokes equations for viscous heat-conducting gas with an additional equation for the motion and propagation of a friable lumpy-dust material in air. The energy equation is modified for the relation between two its kinds: the usual energy of the translation of molecules (which defines the temperature and pressure) and the combined energy of their rotation, oscillation, electronic excitation, dissociation, and radiation. For the mathematical model of atmosphere, the distribution of density, pressure, and temperature in height is taken as for the standard atmosphere. An asteroid-comet body is taken initially as a round body consisting of a friable lumpy-dust material with corresponding density and significant viscosity which far exceed those for the atmosphere gas. A numerical algorithm is proposed for solving the initial-boundary problem for the extended system of Navier-Stokes equations. The algorithm is the combination of the semi-Lagrangian approximation for Lagrange transport derivatives and the conforming finite element method for other terms. The implementation of these approaches is illustrated by a numerical example.

Аннотация: На основе решения уравнения Эленбааса-Хеллера рассчитаны зависимости температуры T и напряженности электрического поля E от радиуса R и силы тока I для осесимметричного стационарного равновесного дугового разряда в воздухе, аргоне, углекислом газе и водороде при атмосферном давлении. Результаты расчетов представлены на диаграммах в плоскости lgI-R в виде линий постоянных значений T и E. Диаграммы позволяют оперативно оценивать параметры дугового разряда для заданных значений R и I.
The dependences of the temperature T and electric field strength E on the current I and radius R for a axisymmetric stationary equilibrium arc discharge in air, argon, carbon dioxide and hydrogen under atmospheric pressure are determined from the solution to the Elenbaas-Heller equation. The results of computations are given on diagrams in the plane lgI-R in the form of lines of constant values. The diagrams make it possible to rapidly estimate parameters of the arc discharge for the given values of I and R.

    Mathematical model and numerical algorithm for aerodynamical flow

Аннотация: In the paper, a mathematical model and a numerical algorithm are proposed for modeling an air flow. The proposed model is based on the time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations for viscous heat-conducting gas. The energy equation and the state equations are modified to account for two kinds of 'internal' energy. The first one is the usual translational and rotational energy of molecules which defines the thermodynamical temperature and the pressure. The second one is the subgrid energy of small turbulent eddies. A numerical algorithm is proposed for solving the formulated initial-boundary value problem as a combination of the semi-Lagrangian approximation for Lagrange transport derivatives and the conforming finite element method for other terms. A numerical example illustrates these approaches. © 2016 Author(s).

Аннотация: In the paper, a mathematical model is proposed for the modeling of the complex of phenomena which accompany the passage of a friable asteroid-comet body through the Earth’s atmosphere: the material ablation, the dissociation of molecules, and the ionization. The model is constructed on the basis of the time-dependent Navier-Stokes equations for viscous heat-conducting gas with an additional equation for the propagation of friable lumpy-dust material in air. A numerical algorithm is proposed for solving the formulated initial boundary-value problem as the combination of the semi-Lagrangian approximation for Lagrange transport derivatives and the conforming finite element method for other terms. A numerical example illustrates these approaches. © Springer International Publishing AG 2017.

Аннотация: The functionality, architectural features, the user interface of the geoinformation web-system of environmental monitoring of Krasnoyarsk is discussed. This system is created in service-oriented architecture. Data collection from the automated stations to monitor the state of atmospheric air has been implemented. An original device to measure the level of contamination of the atmosphere by fine dust PM2.5 has developed. Assessment of the level of air pollution is based on the quality index AQI atmosphere.

Аннотация: The periods of unfavorable meteorological conditions (UMC) do not coincide with the periods of contamination of suspended particles PM10. There are cases when during the regime of the UMS is not happening the pollution of the atmosphere by aerosol particles. At UMC the pollution of suspended particles in different parts of the city differs as the concentration of the aerosol and the duration of the negative impact on people's health. © 2017 SPIE.

Аннотация: Описывается применение гарантированных методов [1-5], оценивающих области фазовых состояний беспилотных летательных аппаратов (БПЛА) для сохранения заданной траектории численной модели движения при проведении БПЛА через заданные области в горизонтальной плоскости. Традиционные методы отслеживания траектории, используемые в робототехнике, для БПЛА работают недостаточно хорошо. Основным затруднением в использовании этих методов является требование - быть в определенном месте в определенное время, которое не может надлежащим образом учитывать изменения скорости относительно Земли, вызванные неизвестными и меняющимися воздействиями ветра. Цель предлагаемых методов - контролировать нахождение летательного аппарата на требуемой траектории, что доказало свою эффективность во время летных испытаний. В основе вычисления включений траектории движения БПЛА в указанных областях лежат методы построения символьных формул решений моделей движения БПЛА, учитывающие геометрические характеристики этих областей, и оценивание всех возможных ее значений. Приводятся результаты.
The report describes the application of guaranteed methods [1] - [5], estimated the regions of phase states of unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for maintaining a given trajectory during UAVs through specified areas in the horizontal plane. The traditional tracking of trajectory methods used in robotics for UAVs does not work well enough. The main difficulty in using these methods is the requirement - to be in a certain place at a certain time, which cannot properly take into account changes in speed relative to the Earth, caused by unknown and changing impacts of the wind. The purpose of the proposed methods is to support the aircraft on the required trajectory, which proved to be effective during flight tests. The computations of the inclusions of the trajectory of the aircraft during the motion in these areas is based on the methods of constructing symbolic solution formulas that take into account the geo- metrical characteristics of these regions and the estimation of all possible values of it. The results are presented.
