Аннотация: We report a computer simulation study of light absorption, scattering and emission at 397 nm in an ultracold calcium ion plasma under resonant excitation. The results point to spectral asymmetry of light scattering, nonlinear absorption, and emission in the plasma. An approach is proposed for ultracold plasma diagnostics using resonant optical characteristics.

Аннотация: Abstract: With the aim of providing reliable benchmark values, we have measured the Soret, thermodiffusion and molecular diffusion coefficients for the ternary mixture formed by 1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene, isobutylbenzene and n-dodecane for a mass fraction of 0.8-0.1-0.1 and at a temperature of 25°C. The experimental techniques used by the six participating laboratories are Optical Digital Interferometry, Taylor Dispersion technique, Open Ended Capillary, Optical Beam Deflection, Thermogravitational technique and Sliding Symmetric Tubes technique in ground conditions and Selectable Optical Diagnostic Instrument (SODI) in microgravity conditions. The measurements obtained in the SODI installation have been analyzed independently by four laboratories. Benchmark values are proposed for the thermodiffusion and Soret coefficients and for the eigenvalues of the diffusion matrix in ground conditions, and for Soret coefficients in microgravity conditions. Аннотация: Aim. To study blood dielectric properties of patients with unstable angina (UA) for the development of novel additional diagnostic criteria for acute myocardial ischemia. Material and methods. Totally, 61 patient studied with non-ST-elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTEACS), of those 40 patients having on ECG the changes of ischemic type, 21 patient with ACS without ECG changes. In all patients troponin T was negative in single measurement. Comparison group consisted of the stable angina patients II FC (n=13). Controls consisted of 30 healthy donors of blood transfusion center; to 59% patients with preliminary diagnosis NSTEACS (n=61) diagnostic coronary angiography was don (CAG). To all patients we performed study of dielectric properties of the blood by the Fourier-spectroscopy method. Results. Dielectric properties of the blood in NSTEACE/UA, during the first hours of pain onset significantly differ from those in stable angina and controls. In 26% of patients dielectric properties of the blood get back later than positive changes of ECG occur (ST return to isoline). Conclusion. Diagnostic test for acute myocardial ischemia, together with ECGdiagnostics and clinical picture makes it possible, in short time, to perform expressdiagnostics of myocardial ischemia when NSTEACS/UA is suspected, especially in comorbidity patients having the same ST depression on ECG, caused by LV hypertrophy. © 2015, Silicea-Poligraf. Аннотация: Image processing techniques play an important role in the diagnostics and detection of diseases and monitoring the patients having these diseases. The chapter presents the medical image processing and morphological analysis in the solution of urology and plastic surgery (hernioplasty) problems. Novel methodology for processing medical images using a color coding of contour representation obtained by Digital Shearlet Transform (DST) has been presented. The object contours in the medical urology images are obtained using the conventional filters, and then results are compared. Since medical images can contain some noise, it makes sense to suppress the noise at the preprocessing step. For this purpose, the optimized in implementation algorithms of the most frequently used filters, such as the mean filter, Gaussian filter, median filter, and 2D cleaner filter, had been developed. A comparison of the optimized and ordinary implementations of noise reduction filter shows great speed improvement of the optimized implementations (around 3–20 times). Additionally, the parallel implementation gives 2–3.5 times performance boost. The proposed methodology allows to improve the accuracy and decrease the error of the sought parameters and characteristics by 10–20% on average without a lack of significant details in the structural features of the examined objects. The results of the experimental study show an error decrease in data representation for the plastic surgery (hernioplasty) by 15–25%. © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG.

Аннотация: It is known that the movement of the liquid core creates electric currents, inducing a main magnetic field of the planet. The liquid core of the high temperature becomes ionized plasma (plasma), which It is quasi-neutral (not neutral) - by definition. One of the major geodynamo questions: what is the source of strength, causing fluid movement in the core of the planet? Many authors have investigated geodynamo: planetary rotation around its axis, the temperature difference and pressure as well as the Coriolis force. Moffatt (1980), at the end of his book, as expressed the problem mentioned above “… For example, it is not yet known that the ultimate source energy is the basic movements of the Earth’s disk Dynamo”. In this study, the role of the driving forces of the liquid core considered tidal forces created axial rotation of the planet and the influence of external objects (the Sun and planets, satellites). The value of the tidal force on the equator of the planet depends on the radius and the period of the axial rotation of the planet, mass, radius and the orbital period of the satellite around the planet. The paper presents the formula and the results of the calculation of tidal forces and forecast the relative values equatorial magnetic fields of the planets all the planets of the solar system. The interpretation of the results illustrated with drawings. The new version of the dynamo It helps to explain the reasons high intensity magnetic Jupiter's field compared to Saturn’s fields, Uranus and Neptune, and much more Earth field intensity compared with fields of Venus, Mercury and Mars. The calculations of the correlation values the magnetic field at the equator: on the model according to the forecast and observations on the planets. Correlation coefficient is 0.997, that indicates a close relationship observed and estimates fields, and this is indirect evidence of the correctness of the adopted model. © SGEM2017 All Rights Reserved.

    Thermodiffusion in Ternary Mixtures of Water/Ethanol/Triethylene Glycol: First Report on the DCMIX3-Experiments Performed on the International Space Station

Аннотация: We report on thermodiffusion experiments conducted on the International Space Station ISS during fall 2016. These experiments are part of the DCMIX (Diffusion and thermodiffusion Coefficients Measurements in ternary Mixtures) project, which aims at establishing a reliable data base of non-isothermal transport coefficients for selected ternary liquid mixtures. The third campaign, DCMIX3, focuses on aqueous systems with water/ethanol/triethylene glycol as an example, where sign changes of the Soret coefficient have already been reported for certain binary subsystems. Investigations have been carried out with the SODI (Selectable Optical Diagnostics Instrument) instrument, a Mach-Zehnder interferometer set up inside the Microgravity Science Glovebox in the Destiny Module of the ISS. Concentration changes within the liquids have been monitored in response to an external temperature gradient using phase-stepping interferometry. The complete data set has been made available in spring 2017. Due to additionally available measurement time, it was possible to collect a complete data set at 30?C and an almost complete data set at 25?C, which significantly exceeds the originally envisaged measurements at a single temperature only. All samples could be measured successfully. The SODI instrument and the DCMIX experiments have proven reliable and robust, allowing to extract meaningful data even in case of unforeseen laser instabilities. First assessments of the data quality have revealed six out of 31 runs with some problems in image contrast and/or phase step stability that will require more sophisticated algorithms. This publication documents all relevant parameters of the conducted experiments and also events that might have an influence on the final results. The compiled information is intended to serve as a starting point for all following data evaluations. © 2018 Springer Science+Business Media B.V., part of Springer Nature

Аннотация: A review of the basic concepts shearlet transform spatial data observations. The possibilities of the new approach for the geometric analysis of complex medical images. The proposed method can improve the radiological diagnosis of urological diseases by detailing changes of tissues. On the basis of the developed method of spectral data decomposition is performed solution of filtration problem and isolating contour studied medical target. The task of image contrast is also solved for the better understanding of the found geometric features and patterns.

Аннотация: Image processing techniques play an important role in the diagnostics and detection of diseases and monitoring the patients having these diseases. Breast Cancer detection of medical images is one of the most important elements of this field. Because of low contrast and ambiguous the structure of the tumor cells in breast images, it is still a challenging task to automatically segment the breast tumors. Our method presents an innovative approach to the diagnosis of breast tumor incorporates with some noise removal functions, followed by improvement features and gain better characteristics of medical images for a right diagnosis using balance contrast enhancement techniques (BCET). The results of second stage is subjected to image segmentation using Fuzzy c-Means (FCM) clustering method and Thresholding method to segment the out boundaries of the breast and to locate the Breast Tumor boundaries (shape, area, spatial sizes, etc.) in the images. The third stage feature extraction using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWI). Finally the artificial neural network will be used to classify the stage of Breast Tumor that is benign, malignant or normal. The early detection of Breast tumor will improves the chances of survival for the patient Probabilistic Neural Network (PNN) with radial basis function will be employed to implement an automated breast tumor classification. The simulated results shown that classifier and segmentation algorithm provides better accuracy than previous method. Proper segmentation is mandatory for efficient feature extraction and classification.

    The transition from "double-gradient" to ballooning unstable mode in bent magnetotail-like current sheet

Аннотация: The magnetotail-like magnetoplasma configuration is examined for the stability to the transversal mode by means of linear 2.5- and nonlinear 3-dimensional MHD simulations. The exact two-dimensional Kan-like solution of the Vlasov-Maxwell equations is utilized for background equilibrium bent current sheets. Both linear and nonlinear simulations reveal the same features: the bent current sheet is unstable to perturbations with the wave vector pointing in the out-of-plane direction; the unstable mode is localized in the summer hemisphere; in-plane plasma flow is rotating from the earthward/tailward direction in the near-Earth region to the vertical direction in the tail. Rotation of the plasma velocity and variation of the background plasma parameters in longitudinal (Earth-Sun) direction allow considering the observed plasma motions as a transient mode from the so-called double-gradient (in distant tail) to the conventional ballooning (close to the Earth) instability. It is found that the mode localization is controlled by second derivatives of the total pressure in longitudinal and normal (north-south) directions. This feature is rendered by a newly developed quasi-two-dimensional analytical model of the transversal mode in the bent current sheet. © 2019 Author(s).
