Аннотация: This paper presents a generalized technology of extraction of explicit knowledge from data. The main ideas are 1) maximal reduction of network complexity (not only removal of neurons or synapses, but removal all the unnecessary elements and signals and reduction of the complexity of elements), 2) using of adjustable and flexible pruning process (the pruning sequence shouldn't be predetermined - the user should have a possibility to prune network on his own way in order to achieve a desired network structure for the purpose of extraction of rules of desired type and form), and 3) extraction of rules not in predetermined but any desired form. Some considerations and notes about network architecture and training process and applicability of currently developed pruning techniques and rule extraction algorithms are discussed. This technology, being developed by us for more than 10 years, allowed us to create dozens of knowledge-based expert systems.

Аннотация: Acceleration of magnetosheath plasma resulting from the draping of the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) around the magnetosphere can give rise to flow speeds that exceed that of the solar wind (V-SW) by up to similar to 60%. Three case event studies out of 34 identified events are described. We then present a statistical study of draping-related accelerations in the magnetosheath. Further, we compare the results with the recent theory of Erkaev et al. (2011, 2012). We present a methodology to help distinguish draping-related accelerations from those caused by magnetic reconnection. To rule out magnetopause reconnection at low latitudes, we focus mainly on the positive B-z phase during the passage of interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICMEs), as tabulated in Richardson and Cane (2010) for 1997-2009, and adding other events from 2010. To avoid effects of high-latitude reconnection poleward of the cusp, we also consider spacecraft observations made at low magnetic latitudes. We study the effect of upstream Alfven Mach number (M-A) and magnetic local time (MLT) on the speed ratio V/V-SW. The comparison with theory is good. Namely, (i) flow speed ratios above unity occur behind the dawn-dusk terminator, (ii) those below unity occur on the dayside magnetosheath, and (iii) there is a good general agreement in the dependence of the V ratio on M-A.

    Classification of Symbol Sequences over Their Frequency Dictionaries: Towards the Connection between Structure and Natural Taxonomy

Аннотация: The classifications of bacterial 16S RNA sequences developed over the real and transformed frequency dictionaries have been studied. Two sequences are considered to be close, when their frequency dictionaries are close in Euclidean metrics. A procedure to transform a dictionary is proposed that makes clear some features of the information pattern of a symbol sequence. A comparative study of classifications developed over real frequency dictionaries vs. the transformed ones has been carried out. A correlation between information patterns of nucleotide sequences and taxonomy of the bearer of the sequence was found. The sites with high information value are found to be the main factors of the difference between the classes in a classification. The classification of nucleotide sequences developed over real frequency dictionaries of thickness 3 reveals the best correlation to a gender of bacteria. A set of sequences of the same gender is included entirely into one class, as a rule, and exclusions occur rarely. A hierarchical classification yields one or two taxonomy groups on each level of classification. An unexpectedly often, or unexpectedly rare occurrence of some sites within a sequence makes a basic difference between the structure patterns of the classes yielded; a number of those sites is not to large. Further investigations are necessary in order to campare the sites revealed with those determined due to other methodology.

Аннотация: A novel model of the targeted migration of a population separated into two subpopulations is proposed. The model is implemented for the local information access. Migration is not random and yields the maximization of a net reproduction, in general; specific version of this general rule is proposed. The local information access means the total lack of knowledge on the environmental conditions and transfer cost at the immigration station, for beings occupying the given station. Various regimes for the models are studied. A reciprocal chaotic-like migrations may take place, for some reasonable parameters figures.

The principle of expansion of the learning sample and the analysis of the probabilistic characteristics of the obtained sets of random variables are used to synthesize this estimate. On this basis, a technique of construction of confidence boundaries for the Bayesian equation of the separating surface is derived. При её синтезе используются принцип декомпозиции обучающей выборки и анализ вероятностных характеристик получаемых множеств случайных величин. На этой основе разработана методика построения доверительных границ для байесовского уравнения разделяющей поверхности. Эффективность методики подтверждается результатами вычислительных экспериментов.
A nonparametric estimate of the decision function in a two-alternative problem of pattern recognition is considered. The comparison procedure for the effectiveness of methods for discretization of the interval of values of a random variable at probability density estimation has been saggested. As an efficiency criterion the asymptotic expression of standard deviation of regression model of probability density has been used.

Аннотация: Рассматриваются вопросы применения функций чувствительности для вычисления границ включений множеств достижимости управляемых систем в задачах оценки предельных отклонений летательных аппаратов: самолета, ракеты, космического корабля. Как правило, в рамках теории чувствительности проводится численное исследование параметрической модели управляемой системы во всем диапазоне изменения определяющей совокупности параметров. Практическое применение такого подхода очень часто оказывалось нецелесообразным или невозможным из-за огромного количества требуемых вычислений и необозримости получаемых результатов. Предложенное и реализованное в статье совместное применение функций чувствительности и символьных формул решений позволяет эффективно вычислять включения множеств достижимости - совокупностей концов всех траекторий управляемой системы, начинающихся в начальный момент времени в точках начального множества. Эти множества применяются в задачах гарантированного оценивания совокупностей отклонений летательных аппаратов и задачах контроля предельных отклонений, при этом действующие на систему внешние возмущения и ошибки наблюдения заключены в определенных пределах (стеснены ограничениями). Под функциями чувствительности понимаются производные различных переменных состояния и показателей качества по параметрам соответствующей и определяющей группы. Эти функции являются решениями уравнений чувствительности, которые могут быть непосредственно получены из известной параметрической модели системы. Описанный в статье метод, использующий символьные формулы решения и функции чувствительности, позволяет получить надежную оценку множеств достижимости управляемых систем в условиях неопределенности, если в правые части этих систем управляющие воздействия входят произвольным образом, не только как аддитивный член. Область применения этого метода включает задачи оценки предельных отклонений при движении самолета на этапе автоматического захода на посадку, задачи определения возможности потери устойчивости движения летательного аппарата на заданном интервале времени, т. е. задачи траекторной безопасности летательного аппарата, задачи посадки вертолета. Упрощенным критерием потери устойчивости в подобных задачах служит вычисление некоторого порогового или критического значения одного из параметров движения и оценки границ областей всех возможных траекторий. Представлены результаты применения численных методов, основанных на символьных формулах решений и функциях чувствительности и оценивании всех возможных ее значений.
This article presented the use of sensitivity functions to compute the boundaries of inclusions of control systems reachability sets and their application to problems of estimation tolerances of aircraft motion, or missiles motion, or spacecraft motion. As a rule, the model of the control system is carried out throughout the range of the defining set of parameters in the framework of the sensitivity of numerical investigation of the parametric. The practical application of this approach is very often impractical or impossible because of the huge number of required computations and countless of the results. The combined use of the sensitivity functions and the analytical formulas of solutions proposed and implemented in the article, can effectively compute the inclusion of reachable sets. These sets include all trajectories of the control system, starting at the initial time point in the initial set. The inclusion of reachable sets are used in problems of guaranteed estimation of variance sets aircraft and in problems of control tolerances, considering that the current external disturbances of system and errors of observation are enclosed within certain limits (constrained by limitations). Defined sensitivity functions are derivatives of various state variables with respect the parameters of the appropriate group. Obtained these functions are solutions of the sensitivity equations constructed directly from a known parametric model of the system. Using the method, based on symbolical formulas for the solution and based on sensitivity function, allows getting a reliable estimate of reachable sets of control systems in conditions of uncertainty. Control actions are included on the right side of these systems arbitrarily, not only as an additive term. Application of this method involves the problem of estimating the maximum deviations of the aircraft motion at the stage of the automatic approach, the problem of determining the possibility of loss of stability of the aircraft motion at a given time, that is the problem of safety of the aircraft trajectory, the problem of the helicopter landing. Simplified criteria for buckling in such problems are the computation of a threshold or critical value of one of the motion parameters, and evaluation of the boundaries of all possible trajectories. The article presents the results of numerical methods based on the use of analytical formulas and sensitivity functions and evaluating all its possible values (reachable sets of control systems).

The paper gives wide coverage to comparison of optimal and heuristic discretization techniques of two-dimensional field of values of a random variable. It defines the terms of their competency under restoration of normal law of distribution of two independent random variables. The efficiency of the method is confirmed by the results of computational experiments.

Аннотация: We develop a semi-Lagrangian algorithm for solving the three-dimensional advection problem. A numerical solution is determined on a uniform cubic grid as a piecewise trilinear function. The method is based on the integral balance equation between two neighboring time levels. The domain of integration at the previous time level is a curved cuboid. To compute an integral over this domain numerically, we approximate this cuboid by another one with the same 8 vertices. The latter cuboid is obtained by a trilinear (isoparametric) transformation of the unit cube. This leads to the integration over the unit cube with the help of the composite midpoint rule. Such a technique provides the validity of the local balance equation and does not involve computational and algorithmic complexity for solving the three-dimensional problem. The numerical experiments confirm the first-order convergence. © Springer International Publishing AG 2017.

Аннотация: Some preliminary results are provided towards the study of the violation of genomic super-symmetry; that latter is the so called Second Chargaff's rule. The rule stipulates that oligonucleotides that could be read equally in opposite directions with respect to the symbol change according to the complimentary law (complimentary palindromes) should exhibit pretty close frequency. We have checked the genomes of organisms of various taxa ranging from viruses via bacteria, yeasts, animals, plants, etc.; more than 1500 genetic sequences had been studied, totally. The measure for the second rule violation was calculated for a single strand. Both intragenomic, and intergenomic studies have been carried out. It was found that intragenomic variability decays, as the length of string grows up. The intergenomic variability is comparable to the intragenomic one, for considerably short strings.

Аннотация: Рассмотрены методы оценивания параметров формулы оптимальной дискретизации области определения плотности вероятности двумерной случайной величины. Исследованы свойства свойства предложенных методов и определены условия их компетентности.
Methods for estimating the parameters of the formula for the optimal discretization of the range of variation in the probability density of a two-dimensional random variable are considered. The properties of the proposed methods are investigated and the conditions for their competence are defined.
