Аннотация: The possibility is demonstrated of using intense interfering light fields to form a bulk, rectified, induced-light-pressure force, thereby making it possible to efficiently act on transport phenomena of a small resonant admixture in a buffer gas. This force is capable of inducing rotating or fixed spatially periodic structures in a dense gas. The symmetry and other characteristics of such a sharp periodic stratification of the gas are extremely sensitive to the spatial configuration, phases, and parameters of the fields acting on it.

Аннотация: The differential equations describing convection in binary mixture with Soret and Dufour effects are considered. The symmetry classification of these equations with respect to the constant parameters is made. It is shown that a generator producing equivalence transformations of constants is defined accurately up to a factor arbitrarily depending on these constants. The equivalence group admitted by the governing equations is calculated. Using this group, a transformation connecting the systems with and without Soret and Dufour terms is derived. In pure Soret case, it reduces to a linear change of temperature and concentration. The presence of Dufour effect requires an additional change of thermal diffusivity and diffusion coefficient. A scheme for reducing an initial and boundary value problem for Soret–Dufour equations to a problem for the system without these effects is proposed.

    Peculiarities of Alfven wave propagation along a nonuniform magnetic flux tube

Аннотация: Within the framework of the assumption of large azimuthal wave numbers, the equations for Alfven and slow magnetosonic waves are obtained using frozen-in material coordinates. These equations are specified for the case of a nonuniform magnetic field with axial symmetry. Assuming a meridional polarization of the magnetic field and velocity perturbations, the effects of Alfven wave propagation are analyzed which are related to geometric characteristics of a nonuniform magnetic field: (a) A finite curvature radius of the magnetic field lines and (b) convergence of magnetic field lines. The interaction between the Alfven and magnetosonic waves is found to be strongly dependent on the curvature radius of the magnetic tube and the local plasma beta parameter. The electric field amplitude and the length scale of a wave front are found to increase very strongly in the course of the Alfven wave propagation along a converging magnetic flux tube. Also studied is a temporal decrease of the wave perturbations which is caused by dissipation at the conducting boundary. (C) 2005 American Institute of Physics.

Аннотация: A quantitative division of the ionosphere into dynamo and motor regions is performed on the base of empirical models of space distributions of ionospheric parameters. Pedersen and Hall conductivities are modified to represent an impact of acceleration of the medium because of Ampere's force. It is shown that the currents in the F(2) layer are greatly reduced for processes of a few hours duration. This reduction is in particular important for the night-side low-latitude ionosphere. The International Reference Ionosphere model is used to analyze the effect quantitatively. This model gives a second high conducting layer in the night-side low-latitude ionosphere that reduces the electric field and equatorial electrojets, but intensifies night-side currents during the short-term events. These currents occupy regions which are much wider than those of equatorial electrojets. It is demonstrated that the parameter sigma(d)=sigma(P)+sigma(H)Sigma(H)/Sigma(P) that involves the integral Pedersen and Hall conductances Sigma(P), Sigma(H) ought to be used instead of the local Cowling conductivity sigma C in calculations of the electric current density in the equatorial ionosphere. We may note that Gurevich et al. (1976) derived a parameter similar to sigma(d) for more general conditions as those which we discuss in this paper; a more detailed description of this point is given in Sect. 6. Both, sigma(d) and sigma(C), appear when a magnetic field line is near a nonconducting domain which means zero current through the boundary of this domain. The main difference between sigma(d) and sigma(C) is that sigma d definition includes the possibility for the electric current to flow along a magnetic field line in order to close all currents which go to this line from neighboring ones. The local Cowling conductivity sigma(C) corresponds to the current closure at each point of a magnetic field line. It is adequate only for a magnetic field line with constant local conductivity at the whole line when field-aligned currents do not exist because of symmetry, but sigma(C)=sigma(d) in this case. So, there is no reason to use the local Cowling conductivity while the Cowling conductance Sigma(C)=Sigma(P)+Sigma(2)(H)/Sigma(P) is a useful and well defined parameter.

Аннотация: Based on the equations of the dynamics of piecewise-homogeneous elastic material, parallel computational algorithms are developed to simulate the process of stress and strain wave propagation in amedium consisting of alarge number of blocks interacting through compliant interlayers. Computations of waves caused by localized impulse perturbations show that such amedium can be considered as isotropic only in the case of sufficiently thin interlayers. In the case of relatively thick interlayers, the anisotropy effects are observed which consist in the appearance of elongated wave fronts along the coordinate directions and characteristic oscillations of velocities and stresses because of the rotational motion of blocks. For the description of waves in ablocky medium with thin interlayers, the equations of the isotropic Cosserat continuum are applicable. As the thickness of interlayers increases, the orthotropic Cosserat continuum theory which takes into account the symmetry of elastic properties relative to the coordinate planes can be applied. By comparing the elastic wave velocities in the framework of piecewise-homogeneous model and continuum model, a simple method is obtained to estimate the mechanical parameters of the orthotropic Cosserat continuum modeling ablocky medium. In two-dimensional formulation of the orthotropic model the computational algorithm and the program system are worked out for the analysis of propagation of elastic waves. The comparison showed good qualitative agreement between the results of computations of waves caused by localized impulses, in the framework of the model of ablocky medium with compliant interlayers and the model of orthotropic Cosserat continuum.

Аннотация: Three-dimensional equations describing heat and mass transfer in fluid mixtures with variable transport coefficients are studied. Using Lie group theory the forms of unknown thermal diffusivity, diffusion and thermal diffusion coefficients are found. The symmetries of the governing equations are calculated. It is shown that cases of Lie symmetry extension arise when arbitrary elements have the power-law, logarithmic and exponential dependencies on temperature and concentration. An exact solution is constructed for the case of linear dependence of diffusion and thermodiffusion coefficients on temperature. The solution demonstrates differences in concentration distribution in comparison with the same distribution under constant transport coefficients in the governing equations. © 2014 Elsevier B.V.

Аннотация: The paper presents a novel approach to infer a structuredness in a set of symbol sequences such as transcriptome nucleotide sequences. A distribution pattern of triplet frequencies in the Siberian larch (Larix sibirica Ledeb.) transcriptome sequences was investigated in the presented study. It was found that the larch transcriptome demonstrates a number of unexpected symmetries in the statistical and combinatorial properties.
Проанализированы структуры, выделяемые в транскриптоме лиственницы. Показано, что данный набор последовательностей обладает необычной симметрией своих статистических и комбинаторных свойств.

Необходимость применения такого подхода обусловлена невозможностью нахождения общего решения подобных уравнений в большинстве случаев. Рассмотрены примеры использования предложенного подхода к уравнениям Кортевега -де Фриза, sin-Гордон и sh-Гордон с графиками решений.
In our article we develop an approach for constructing particular solutions of differential equations. This approach is based on the use of higher symmetries allowed by partial differential equations and the method of differential constraints proposed by N.N. Yanenko. We restrict ourselves to the study of partial differential equations with two independent variables. Differential constraints and the coefficients of admissible symmetry operators generate ordinary differential equations. The classical Lie theory works well in the case of point and contact transformations. When higher symmetries and higher-order differential constraints are considered then arises the problem of integrating higher-order ordinary differential equations. The solutions of such differential equations are obtained by the inverse scattering problem and finite-zone integration method in the soliton theory. However, this approach has a number of significant difficulties. For example, it is often difficult to sort out real solutions from a set of complex solutions, or solutions are expressed through insufficiently studied functions. Our approach is based on the numerical integration of passive systems. The additional ordinary differential equations are invariant manifolds of evolution equations. This allows us to rewrite an overdetermed system as two systems of ordinary differential equations. Further we sequentially solve these systems by the Runge -Kutta method. We apply this approach to the Korteweg - de Vries equations, Sin-Gordon and Sinh-Gordon equations. The bounded and unrestricted solutions are found and solution images are constructed. This approach can be used for equations with an arbitrary number of independent variables.

Аннотация: Some preliminary results are provided towards the study of the violation of genomic super-symmetry; that latter is the so called Second Chargaff's rule. The rule stipulates that oligonucleotides that could be read equally in opposite directions with respect to the symbol change according to the complimentary law (complimentary palindromes) should exhibit pretty close frequency. We have checked the genomes of organisms of various taxa ranging from viruses via bacteria, yeasts, animals, plants, etc.; more than 1500 genetic sequences had been studied, totally. The measure for the second rule violation was calculated for a single strand. Both intragenomic, and intergenomic studies have been carried out. It was found that intragenomic variability decays, as the length of string grows up. The intergenomic variability is comparable to the intragenomic one, for considerably short strings.

Аннотация: This paper describes the solution of group classification problem for heat and mass transfer equations with respect to 3 transport coefficients. Two coefficients depend on temperature and concentration, and the thermal diffusivity coefficient is the function of only one of these state parameters. The forms of the arbitrary elements providing the additional transformations are found. Examples of exact solutions of the governing equations are constructed.

Аннотация: Chloroplast genomes have eight-cluster structuredness, in triplet frequency space. Small fragments of a genome converted into a triplet frequency dictionaries are the elements to be clustered. Typical structure consists of eight clusters: six of them correspond to three different positions of a reading frame shifted for 0, 1 and 2 nucleotides (in two opposing strands), the seventh cluster corresponds to a junk regions of a genome, and the eighth cluster is comprised by the fragments with excessive GC-content bearing specific RNA genes. Аннотация: The paper presents symmetry analysis of three-dimensional equations of heat and mass transfer in a binary liquid. The system contains three unknown functions related to physical properties of liquid. Supposing thermal diffusivity to be depended on temperature with respect to power law, diffusion and thermal diffusion coefficients are found using of classical Lie symmetry approach. It is shown that the solution of the group classification problem consists of two parts. We obtain different results if we take into account that diffusion coefficient either has the same form as the thermal diffusivity coefficient or it depends on temperature and concentration essentially. Some reductions of the governing equations are constructed with the help of the obtained transformations of dependent and independent variables. New exact solutions of the reduced equations have been found in several cases. © 2018 Elsevier Inc.

Аннотация: We studied the features and characters of various chloroplast genomes that could be retrieved solely from the analysis of triplet composition. To do that, two types of triplet dictionaries were developed: the former lists all the triplets (with overlapping), so that each nucleotide yields a start for a triplet, and the latter is the entity where triplets do not overlap, but also have no gaps between them. Two main cores were studied: the former is the structuredness of a genome that manifests in the statistical properties of small fragments of the genome, each of them converted into a triplet frequency dictionary, and the latter is the relation between the triplet frequencies of a genome, and their phylogeny, when determined over a significant ensemble of genomes. It was found that the great majority of chloroplast genomes exhibit a specific eight-cluster pattern comprising these fragments (converted into triplet frequency dictionaries). The first cluster corresponds to junk fragments, and six more clusters correspond to the fragments corresponding to coding regions, so that each entity corresponds to the specific reading frame shift, and the strand (leading vs. ladder). Finally, the eighth cluster (called the "tail") differs from all those mentioned above, and comprises the fragments with excessive GC-content values. In the observed pattern, two clusters corresponding to the third position of a reading frame but belonging to opposite strands always project one over the other, while the other four clusters do not. Moreover, there is a mirroring symmetry in the orientation of these two coincidental clusters against four others: each genome has either left-hand or right-hand orientation of these six clusters. The cluster structuredness of the chloroplasts found here differs from a similar one observed for bacterial or eukaryotic genomes. The aim of the second core investigation was to establish the relation between the triplet composition of chloroplast genomes and the taxonomy of their bearers; the latter was determined morphologically, by nuclear genomes. To reveal the relation, all the chloroplast genomes (approx. 900 entries) were converted into triplet frequency dictionaries of the first type, and then they were clustered by K-means, elastic maps and some other clustering techniques into two, three, four, five, six and seven classes, respectively. The composition of the classes was the subject of interest: it was found that the distribution of clades over the classes that developed due to clustering was very non-random, and followed, in general, a natural taxonomy of the bearers.
