Аннотация: A novel luciferin from a bioluminescent Siberian earthworm Fridericia heliota was recently described. In this study, the Fridericia oxyluciferin was isolated and its structure elucidated. The results provide insight into a novel bioluminescence mechanism in nature. Oxidative decarboxylation of a lysine fragment of the luciferin supplies energy for light generation, while a fluorescent CompX moiety remains intact and serves as the light emitter.

   CHEMILUMINESCENCE

Аннотация: Bioluminescent fungi are spread throughout the globe, but details on their mechanism of light emission are still scarce. Usually, the process involves three key components: an oxidizable luciferin substrate, a luciferase enzyme, and a light emitter, typically oxidized luciferin, and called oxyluciferin. We report the structure of fungal oxyluciferin, investigate the mechanism of fungal bioluminescence, and describe theuseof simple synthetic alpha-pyrones as luciferins to produce multicolor enzymatic chemiluminescence. A high-energy endoperoxide is proposed as an intermediate of the oxidation of the native luciferin to the oxyluciferin, which is a pyruvic acid adduct of caffeic acid. Luciferase promiscuity allows the use of simple alpha-pyrones as chemiluminescent substrates.

Аннотация: The luminescence of obelin is initiated by NaOCl in a reaction mixture containing no calcium. The addition of Mn2+ enhances the light emission > 300-fold. Sodium azide and histidine, as singlet oxygen quenchers, inhibit NaOCl-activated obelin luminescence in the presence or absence of Mn2+. This suggests that the addition of NaOCl to the mixture causes singlet oxygen formation (stimulated by Mn2+ ions), and singlet oxygen initiates the light-emitting reaction.

Аннотация: Repeated plasmapheresis sessions attended by chemiluminescent evaluation of cellular immunity parameters lead to the recovery of the whole blood leucocyte activity in patients with unhealing gastroduodenal ulcers. The kinetic analysis of the cellular chemiluminescent response has shown that, among all the components of the plasmapheresis procedure, hemorrhage is the most important factor increasing the functional activity of phagocytes.

Adolescent -- Bioluminescence -- Blood -- Chemiluminescence -- Saliva -- Sexual dimorphism
Аннотация: The study includes anthropometry of 172 young male, obtained data on the length and body mass, measured the transverse diameters of the shoulders and pelvis, various body types was identified by the J.M. Tanner sexual dimorphism index (andromorphic, mesomorphic, gynecomorphic). The chemiluminescent and bioluminescent study of saliva and blood was conducted in the examined young male. We studied the indicators of the antioxidant defense system under the influence of stress. The antioxidant status of saliva was determined using the H2 O2-luminol-dependent chemiluminescence method. Data on the activity of NAD (P)-dependent dehydrogenases in blood lymphocytes was obtained from a bioluminescent method of research. Young male of andromorphic body type had large overall and transverse body sizes. Indicators of antioxidant protection of saliva and blood in men of adolescence, the body type of the sexual dimorphism index J.M. Tanner was different. The persons of the andromorphic body type differed in terms of chemiluminescence in comparison with the young male of gynecomorphic body type. The results of bioluminescent blood tests suggest a violation of the catabolic and anabolic processes of carbohydrate and fat metabolism in young men of mesomorphic and gynecomorphic body types. Indicators of the system of antioxidant protection of saliva and blood reflect the sexual characteristics of the body of young male and can be used as additional criteria for diagnosing sex inversion and assessing the risk of developing socially attributed diseases. © 2020, Klinichescheskaya Laboratornaya Diagnostika. Аннотация: The examination of four species of luminous bacteria Photobacterium leiognathi, Photobacterium phosphoreum, Vibrio fischeri and Vibrio harveyi has enabled us to reveal some nutrient medium components effecting growth, luminescence intensity and luciferase synthesis. These agents are nucleic components (nucleotides, nucleotides and amine bases), amino acids and vitamins, which are part of hydrolysates from the biomass of various lithotrophic microorganisms, hydrogen-oxidizing, iron-oxidizing and carboxydobacteria. The effect of promoting agents essentially alters the physiological state and ultrastructure of the cells of luminous bacteria and increases luciferase biosynthesis two- to three-fold compared to a control.

Аннотация: A green flavoprotein (GFP) was isolated and purified to homogeneity from Photobacterium leiognathi, strain 208. GFP is a homodimer of molecular weight 54,000 and contains two molecules of an unusual flavin per molecule of protein. Various biochemical characteristics including isoelectric point, trypsin and chymotrypsin degradation, SDS and temperature influence on subunit dissociation and the dissociation of the flavin chromophore, were investigated. The sequence of 23 N-terminal amino acids was determined and found to be concurrent with the N-terminal amino acid sequence encoded by the lux G(N) gene of P. leiognathi. This fact suggests that GFP is a structural component of the Photobacterium luminescence system.
