Аннотация: To preserve and utilize the biosphere it is imperative that we understand the long-term dynamics of the primary production process on our planet. Variability of chlorophyll concentration in the ocean is one of the most important components of this process. However, size and access make its investigation labour-intensive. Dependence of primary production on high variability of hydrophysical phenomena in the ocean (fluctuations of currents, frontal zones, etc.) makes it difficult to locate points to measure chlorophyll concentration dynamics. To locate such quasistationary zones with respect to seasonal dynamics of chlorophyll concentration by satellite data the Institute of Biophysics (Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch) has developed a geoinformation system. II use made it possible to locate such zones over the entire ocean. The work shows zones on the Central and Northern Atlantic. They form the ground to analyse perennial dynamics of chlorophyll concentration. The quasistationary zones are proposed for systematic monitoring of phytopigment concentration by space-borne and marine craft. (C) 1998 COSPAR. Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.

Аннотация: The new data on anomalies in seasonal dynamics of chlorophyll concentration in the ocean have altered the approach to the analysis of long-term trends of phytopigments in the surface layer of the ocean. Zones have been found in which at various times there was a many-fold increase in chlorophyll concentration versus its usual level. These changes are local in time and space. If anomalies in the. long-term tendencies in the change of phytopigment surface distribution in the ocean are ignored in the analysis, the resulting picture will inadequately reflect the real processes. The work presents the results of the analysis of long-term trends of chlorophyll concentration on the basis of the CZCS satellite data in the Atlantic Ocean. The results are given as maps representing different variants of trends. The data obtained can be used to analyze the consequences of long-term changes of climate and changes in the interaction between the atmosphere and the ocean. (C) 2002 COSPAR. Аннотация: Variability of chlorophyll concentration in the ocean is one of the most important components of the primary production process on the planet. To preserve the biosphere and to make appropriate use of it, it is imperative to have a deep insight into the long-term dynamics of the primary production on the planet. To investigate the dynamics of chlorophyll concentration based on satellite data, the Institute of Biophysics (Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch) has developed a geoinformation system. It was used to detect the areas in the global ocean that are quasistationary in relation to seasonal dynamics of chlorophyll concentration. Areas such as these, found in the Indian Ocean, are described in this work. These areas form the basis for the analysis of long-term dynamics of chlorophyll concentration. In these quasistationary zones systematic monitoring of phytopigment concentration is conducted by space-borne and marine craft. The work presents long-term satellite-based data on the space distribution of anomalous deviations of chlorophyll concentration in the ocean. An anomaly criterion is proposed and maps of Pacific Ocean areas with a high probability of anomalies are presented.

Аннотация: The work-presents long-standing CZCS-satellite-based data about spatial distribution of anomalies in chlorophyll concentration and temperature of the ocean. An anomaly criterion is proposed. Maps of Atlantic ocean areas with elevated probability of anomalies are given. Properties of anomalous zones in different parts of the Atlantic ocean are discussed. Satellite-based maps of anomaly coefficients for chlorophyll concentration and temperature in the Atlantic ocean have been shown to feature substantial differences, the zones of elevated anomaly of chlorophyll concentration and temperature - to be close only in the vicinity of the Amazon outflow into the Atlantic ocean. Along with fundamental knowledge about dynamics of biological phenomena in the ocean the methods described may be used to reveal deviations due to anthropogenic impact. The methods presented may be used to process SeaWiFS program data. The data derived may be used to analyze long-standing time series to estimate randomness of current changes. (C) 2002 COSPAR. Аннотация: An integrated study of the middle and lower Yenisei River was performed in the summer of 2012. It involved monitoring the key elements and ecological processes associated with the carbon cycle of the river ecosystem (the study area is more than 1800 km long). Measurements of the production and destruction processes have shown the failure of the "neutral pipe" hypothesis claiming that any river is a simple drain of carbon from terrestrial ecosystems to the ocean. The Yenisei River is not a purely heterotrophic ecosystem. It also has autotrophic areas, where the primary production of planktonic photosynthesis is higher than respiration (above the Angara River and near the Bolshaya and Malaya Heta rivers). According to the data, the respiration rate of the plankton community in the river depends mostly on the water temperature and the content of inorganic phosphorous that can restrict the amount of organic matter consumed by bacterioplankton.

Аннотация: Approximately 100 fish belonging to 24 families and several representatives of cephalopods, prawns, and euphausiids were investigated for the presence of luminescent bacteria. Species identification of isolated luminescent bacteria was performed, and the frequency and ratio of their occurrence in the gastrointestinal microflora of marine animals were determined. Luminescent bacteria occurred in 23 - 65% of the fish, depending on the habitat depth, and their ratio varied from 8 to 60% of the total gastrointestinal microflora of fish. The free-living luminescent bacteria were found in 50% of the seawater samples from depths down to 1000 m. The luminescent bacterium Photobacterium phosphoreum was dominant among the isolated cultures.

Ключевые слова (''Своб.индексиров.''): frontal temperature zones--model--numerical experiments--current velocity--turbulent diffusion--heat flow
Аннотация: The main purpose of the work is to investigate the frontal temperature zones using the mathematical model of the oceanic temperature field. The forecast of the frontal temperature zone variability is based on satellite data. The model calculates the temperature under different starting conditions and allows for the mean monthly intensity of solar radiation, components of current velocities, and turbulent diffusion. The input data are the mean monthly current velocities and the radiation heat flows. The model is used to calculate the dynamics of the frontal temperature zones in separate parts of the ocean. Based on the results of numerical experiments presented in the paper we estimated the spatial and temporal ranges of the frontal zone variation affected by the advection of currents, horizontal turbulent heat exchange, and the radiation heat flow in separate parts of the ocean. As examples we consider the basic frontal zones in the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans. The work also shows possible applications of parametrization of spatial horizontal components of the frontal zones functionally related to the processes of heat advection and diffusion in the absence of exact information about the magnitudes of the current velocities and turbulent mixing. Аннотация: A critical analysis of literature data on the distribution, morphology, and phylogeography of the Arctic lamprey (Lethenteron camtschaticum) and five species of marine and anadromous fish such as navaga (Eleginus navaga), pollock (Theragra chalcogramma), rainbow smelt (Osmerus mordax dentex), Pacific herring (Clupea pallasii), and pond smelt (Hypomesus olidus) has been performed. The results show that all these species have colonized Northern European seas, distributing along the Arctic coastline of Eurasia after the glacier retreat. The reasons that the dispersal of these species in the Atlantic Ocean may be impeded (preference for a cold environment, competition, and decrease of the evolutionary potential) are discussed.

Аннотация: Forecasting response of the biosphere and regional ecosystems to observed and expected climate change is the fundamental problem with obvious practical significance. Fundamental non-linearity of the climate system and biosphere makes feasible implementing multiple states and threshold processes in the biosphere-climate system (BCS) in response to gradually increasing influence factor (greenhouse gas concentrations growth). Really time series analysis of global temperature and other global and local parameters indicates the presence of abrupt transitions between stationary states. Identification of the switching mechanisms using general circulation models of the atmosphere and the ocean is associated with the obvious difficulties due to their complexity. Understanding the nature of such switches at qualitative level can be achieved by using a conceptual small-scale models. Some variants of possible mechanisms capable of generating these shifts and simultaneously supporting quasi-stationary periods between them are discussed.

Аннотация: Abstract—: The variability of craniological characters has been studied for anadromous and lacustrine forms of whitefish Coregonus lavaretus (Linnaeus, 1758) from waterbodies of the Karelian coast of the White Sea. The significant phenotypic plasticity of craniological characters of the whitefish depends on the environmental conditions. Moreover, there is a correlation between indexes of the craniological traits (except for the index of the snout length) and the body and/or head length (allometric effect). These results suggest that it is unreasonable to separate anadromous and lacustrine forms of C. lavaretus as distinct taxonomical units and argues for the invalidity of C. pidschian and C. oxyrinchus species. © 2020, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Ключевые слова (''Своб.индексиров.''): chlorophyll--seasonal dynamics--hydrological structure--space-based data
Аннотация: The paper analyzes the stability of areas in the Global Ocean, which are quasistationary with respect to the seasonal dynamics of chlorophyll concentration. Such areas were first discovered based on the CZCS data. They occur almost in all regions of the Global Ocean. They reflect typical seasonal dynamics of phytoplankton, which depends on both large ocean currents and local hydrological instability. It is related to the displacement of frontal zones and to local hydrological anomalies. Since the completion of the CZCS work there has been a 10 years gap in monitoring chlorophyll spatial distribution dynamics in the ocean. The reason is the long absence of equipment on the orbit, which would be suitable for the measurement of chlorophyll concentration. Recently, SeaWiFS data have been accumulated and their quantity is sufficient for the crude statistical analysis of image time series for 25 years. Thus, it has become possible to obtain data on the long-term stability of quasistationary areas and, therefore, on the stability of large-scale hydrological phenomena in the Atlantic Ocean. Ключевые слова (''Своб.индексиров.''): temperature--anomalies--hydrological structure--chlorophyll--space-based data
Аннотация: The work presents the data on the spatial distribution of temperature anomalies in the Global Ocean, based on the long-term measurements with the AVHRR satellite equipment. It is noteworthy that such results can be only obtained by using long time series of satellite images. To obtain them by ship-borne methods is actually impossible. The proposed anomaly criterion is equal to a difference between minimum/maximum and average temperature, normed for the mean square deviation. The difference is calculated from the whole time series (with regard to a season). Based on this criterion, anomalies can be distinguished on the background of usual seasonal dynamics at various absolute values of deviations of the measured parameter. Besides, rare, single, fluctuations can be also revealed. Based on the proposed criterion, connected zones have been defined. These zones occur almost in every part of the Global Ocean. The data obtained have been analyzed in association with the CZCS (1978-1986) and SeaWiFS satellite images in order to compare them with the areas of anomalous dynamics of chlorophyll concentration and the regions quasistationary in the seasonal dynamics of chlorophyll. Anomalies in the temperature dynamics are of exceptional importance for the formation of climatic deviations; they affect the ocean-atmosphere interaction and reflect variations in the hydrological structure of the surface waters. The work presents a comparison with the dynamics of chlorophyll concentration distribution determined from the SeaWiFS data for the Atlantic Ocean. (C) 2003 COSPAR. Published by Elsevier Ltd. Аннотация: The paper describes the principal limitations of the traditional methods used to construct atmospheric models. These limitations would not allow any fundamental improvement of atmospheric modeling. Ways are proposed to overcome the current limitations, based oil the methodology of constructing adaptive models and neuroinformatics. Algorithms of self-adaptation for neural networks intended for the construction of atmospheric models are given. Essentially, the developed algorithms are adaptive shells and can be easily transferred to other models.

Аннотация: The suggested model of plastic garbage degradation allows us to obtain an estimate of the stationary density of their distribution over the surface of the World Ocean with account for the temperature dependence on the degradation rate. The model also allows us to estimate the characteristic time periods of degradation of plastic garbage and the dynamics of the mean density variation as the mean rate of plastic garbage entry into the ocean varies.
