Аннотация: The work presents the results of the study aimed at determining the seasonal dynamics of the spectral brightness and reflectance of agricultural crops (wheat, barley and oats) in the Krasnoyarskii Krai (Russia). The analysis of spectral curves obtained through field ground measurements and from satellite data showed that fine spectral differences can be used to study the spatial distribution of various types of vegetation and their ecological state. Based on the created electronic spectral brightness data base, the possibilities are shown of using spectrophotometric information for determining morphophysiological changes occurring in the plants and their species composition. The determined contrasts can be effectively used to obtain necessary information while processing space images, which suffer from natural interferences (varying optical thickness of the atmosphere, cloudiness, alterations in the scanner's angle of view, varying solar height, and highly inhomogeneous underlying surface).     Effect of NaCl concentration on productivity and mineral composition of Salicornia europaea as a potential crop for utilization NaCl in LSS / S. A. Ushakova [et al.] // Advances in Space Research. - 2005. - Vol. 36, Is. 7. - P1349-1353, DOI 10.1016/j.asr.2004.09.017 . - ISSN 0273-1177

Аннотация: The accumulation of solid and liquid wastes in manmade ecosystems presents a problem that has not been efficiently solved yet. Urine, containing NaCl, are part of these products. This is an obstacle to the creation of biological systems with a largely closed material cycling, because the amount of solid and liquid wastes in them must be reduced to a minimum. A possible solution to the problem is to select plant species capable of utilizing sufficiently high concentrations of NaCl, edible for humans, and featuring high productivity. Until recently, the life support systems have included the higher plants that were either sensitive to salinization (wheat, many of the legumes, carrot, potato, maize) or relatively salt-resistant (barley, sugar beet, spinach). Salicomia europaea, whose above-ground part is fully edible for humans, is one of the most promising candidates to be included in life support systems. It is reported in the literature that this plant is capable of accumulating up to 50% NaCl (dry basis). Besides, excessive accumulation of sodium ions should bring forth a decrease in the uptake of potassium ions and other biogenic elements. The aim of this work is to study the feasibility of using S. europaea plants in growth chambers to involve NaCl into material cycling. Plants were grown in vegetation chambers at the irradiance of 100 or 150 W/m2 PAR (photosynthetically active radiation) and the air temperature 24 В°C, by two methods. The first method was to grow the plants on substrate - peat. The peat was supplemented with either 3% NaCl (Variant 1) or 6% NaCl (Variant 2) of the oven-dry mass of the peat. The second method was to grow the plants in water culture, using the solution with a full complement of nutrients, which contained 0.0005% of NaCl, 1% or 2%. The study showed that the addition of NaCl to the substrate or to the solution resulted in the formation of more succulent plants, which considerably increased their biomass. The amount of NaCl uptake was the highest in the plants grown in water culture, 2.6 g per plant. As the sodium uptake increased, the consumption of potassium and the sum of the reduced N forms decreased twofold. The uptake of calcium and magnesium by plants decreased as the NaCl concentration increased; the smallest amounts were taken up by S. europaea grown in water culture. Salinity had practically no effect on the uptake of phosphorus and sulfur. Thus, S. europaea is a promising candidate to be included in life support systems; of special interest is further research on growing these plants in water culture. В© 2005 COSPAR. Аннотация: An optical remote assay for biological production of crops in the field during the vegetation period is proposed. Our calculations demonstrate a good correlation between the S(t) value and crop yield (in the range from 0.85 to 0.90); the higher is S(t) for the vegetation period, the higher is the crop yield. S(t) value can be used to calculate the increase in dry and wet biomass for various crops during the whole vegetation period with an error of less than 10-12%. The absolute error of crop yield for 110 cultivars of wheat, oats, and barley during the experimental period was +/-3-3.5 quintal/ha with the mean crop yield of 14-38 quintal/ha.

Аннотация: The article presents a method for estimating the spatial distribution of spring barley yield, based on the use of optical ground and satellite spectral data (PlanetScope data with a spatial resolution of 3 meters). This approach is highly relevant for the development of precision agriculture technologies. Yield mapping is carried out on the basis of data on the spatial distribution of the actual yield and the spatial distribution of the spectral optical characteristics. The method's characteristic feature is the use of the integral values of vegetation indices (NDVI, MSAVI2, ClGreen) at various stages of crop development. The method was tested on the basis of stationary field experience, where traditional agriculture (deep plowing) is compared with resource-saving technologies (subsurface and surface plowing, and direct seeding with zero tillage). © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. Barley -- Crop yield -- Growing season -- PlanetScope -- Precision farming -- Spectroradiometer -- Types of tillage
Аннотация: The paper presents a method for estimating the spatial distribution of spring barley yield, implemented based on the use of optical ground and satellite spectral data (PlanetScope with a spatial resolution of 3 meters). This approach is highly relevant for the development of precision farming technologies. Yield mapping is carried out on the basis of the data on spatial distribution of actual yield and spatial distribution of spectral optical characteristics. A feature of the method is the use of the integral values of vegetation indices (NDVI, MSAVI2, ClGreen) at various stages of crop development. Testing of the method was performed on the basis of stationary field experience, when traditional agriculture (deep plowing) was compared with resource-saving technologies (flat-cut, surface treatments and direct seeding at zero tillage). As a result, a method for estimating the spatial distribution of spring barley yield, implemented using optical ground and satellite spectral data (PlanetScope with a spatial resolution of 3 meters) was developed. The prediction of barley yields at the end of July on the basis of a linear regression model was performed, the values of the integral under the NDVI curve in different periods of time were used as parameters. The type of a multiple linear model for predicting barley with 7 variables was established (the coefficient of determination is 0.73; the root-mean-square error is 1.5). The spatial distribution of barley yield by satellite (PlanetScope) and ground data was mapped. The resulting yield maps will be used when planning work for the next year. © 2019 Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. All rights reserved.

Аннотация: The use of UAVs for obtaining data on field microrelief within agricultural lands was demonstrated. The work relies on the NDVI integral values during the vegetation period obtained using satellite and ground-based spectrometry. It was established that a change in microrelief has a significant impact on the value of the NDVI integral and yield. The proposed approach can be used in precision farming for planning future agricultural work. Copyright © 2019 for this paper by its authors.     Efficacy of Slow-Release Formulations of Metribuzin and Tribenuron Methyl Herbicides for Controlling Weeds of Various Species in Wheat and Barley Stands / T. Volova, A. Shumilova, N. Zhila [et al.] // ACS Omega. - 2020, DOI 10.1021/acsomega.0c02492 . - Article in press. - ISSN 2470-1343
Аннотация: The herbicidal activity of long-acting formulations of metribuzin and tribenuron methyl herbicides embedded in granules prepared from a mixture of degradable poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) and birch wood flour was studied in laboratory-grown weeds of various species and in wheat Triticum aestivum and barley Hordeum vulgare stands infested by weeds. The constructed formulations effectively suppressed all species of weeds studied. The biological effectiveness of herbicide formulations toward intact plants in wheat and barley stands infested with weeds was close to 100%, which was significantly higher than the effect of their free forms. The more effective suppression of weeds by embedded herbicides was beneficial for the growth of crops whose aboveground biomass was 8-13 to 20% greater than that of the crops in the treatments with free herbicides. Embedded metribuzin and tribenuron methyl exhibit sustained and pronounced herbicidal activity and are effective for pre-emergence soil application for crops infested with weeds of various species. © Copyright © 2020 American Chemical Society.

The use of the data derived from the PlanetScope satellite and unmanned aerial vehicles to estimate crop yield as dependent on the amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied / N. O. Malchikov, T. I. Pisman, I. Y. Botvich [et al.] // IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science : IOP Publishing Ltd, 2021. - Vol. 839: 5th International Scientific Conference on Agribusiness, Environmental Engineering and Biotechnologies, AGRITECH-V 2021 (16 June 2021 through 19 June 2021, ) Conference code: 172484, Is. 2. - Ст. 022004, DOI 10.1088/1755-1315/839/2/022004
Аннотация: The purpose of the present study is to show the usefulness of the satellite data and the data derived from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for estimating the relationship between cereal grain crop yield and the amount of nitrogen fertilizer applied. The study was conducted on the land of the Kuraginskoye Research Farm. The study material was spring barley cv. Biom. Three test plots were studied; mineral fertilizer, urea, was used in different quantities for foliar application in June; applications were performed at equal intervals. Multispectral images were based on PlanetScope satellite data, with the 3 m spatial resolution, and the data derived from the DJI Phantom 4 Multispectral UAV, with the 10 cm resolution. The satellite and UAV data were used to calculate spectral vegetation index (NDVI) (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index). A high correlation was obtained between the NDVI values calculated using satellite data and UAV data. The satellite data provided the basis for assessing barley crop yield as dependent on the amount of foliar-applied urea during the growing season. Maps of the spatial distribution of barley NDVI were constructed using the Phantom UAV data; they showed that the third foliar application of the fertilizer was not economically justified. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
