Аннотация: A one-dimensional mathematical model of the Yenisei river ecosystem including hydrological, ecosystem and radioecologicl blocks has been developed. The model was used to evaluate contribution of different processes (transfer by water masses, dilution, radioactive decay, bioaccumulation) into self-purification of the river water from a radiation pollution. The pollution density of ecosystem components (bacteria, phyto-, zooplankton, phyto-, zoobenthos, detritus) with 137Cs and 32P is calculated.

Аннотация: This article deals with some methodological aspects of biospherics connected with theoretical sciences development and prospective use for practical application. Properties of experimental objects, methods and goals of biospherics as synthesising science have been discussed. The problem of stability of incomplete (natural and artificial) ecosystems has been considered. The concept of the ecosystem health based on effective functioning of different types of ecosystems has been developed.

    Mathematical modeling of population dynamics of unstable plasmid-containing bacteria during continuous cultivation in a chemostat / V. V. Ganusov, A. V. Bril'kov, N. S. Pechurkin // Biofizika. - 2000. - Vol. 45, Is. 5. - С. 908-914 . - ISSN 0006-3029

Аннотация: A structural approach to studying the regularities of the population dynamics of unstable recombinant bacterial strains in a chemostat was elaborated. The approach is based on the mathematical modeling of cell distribution in a population with different numbers of plasmid copies. The effect of decreased selective preference of plasmidless variants of the recombinant strain in the chemostat, which is related to a decrease in the number of plasmid copies in cells upon long-term incubation was analyzed. It is shown that the time of half-elimination of plasmids from the bacterial population in the steady state in the chemostat T1/2 does not depend on the maximum number of plasmid copies in cells N but is determined only by the mean time of generation g and the probability of the loss of one plasmid copy tau. The dependence of the preference of bacterial plasmidless variants on the efficiency of expression of genes cloned into plasmids in chemostat was analyzed using the recombinant strain E. coli Z905, whose plasmids pPHL-7 contain cloned genes for the luminescence system of marine luminescing bacteria Photobacterium leiognathi.

    Biospherics: a new science / N. Pechurkin // Life support & biosphere science : international journal of earth space. - 1994. - Vol. 1, Is. 2. - P85-87 . - ISSN 1069-9422

Аннотация: The experience of human existence in the last few decades shows clearly that developed civilizations come into greater and greater antagonism with nature. Modern technology cannot on its own coexist easily with the biosphere without destroying key biological components. The necessity of comprehending the laws of development of the biosphere as a single whole is becoming more and more obvious and urgent. Because it is so precious and fragile, the biosphere cannot be subjected to any direct study which may harm it. Therefore this science depends on the study of analogs and small models such as artificial ecological systems with differing degrees of complexity and closure. On such model ecosystems we can (and must) study both the particular laws of development of individual elements and components of the ecosystems, and the general principles of turnover of the entire biospheric system. As this new science is being formed, it is necessary to develop the scientific basis of harmonizing the relationship of humanity and nature, to open the path to the next phase, termed the noosphere by Vernadsky. The principal objects of study are closed ecological systems, from simple microsystems to more sophisticated human life-support systems under extreme conditions on the Earth and in space. Biospherics by its very nature knows no political boundaries, and is by necessity an international effort. As such, it is deserving of support both intellectually and economically from all peoples.

Аннотация: The localization of the key photoreductive and oxidative processes and some stress-protective reactions within leaves of mesophytic C3 plants were investigated. The role of light in determining the profile of Rubisco, glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase, catalase, fumarase, and cytochrome-c-oxidase across spinach leaves was examined by exposing leaves to illumination on either the adaxial or abaxial leaf surfaces. Oxygen evolution in fresh paradermal leaf sections and CO2 gas exchange in whole leaves under adaxial or abaxial illumination was also examined. The results showed that the palisade mesophyll is responsible for the midday depression of photosynthesis in spinach leaves. The photosynthetic apparatus was more sensitive to the light environment than the respiratory apparatus. Additionally, examination of the paradermal leaf sections by optical microscopy allowed us to describe two new types of parenchyma in spinach-pirum mesophyll and pillow spongy mesophyll. A hypothesis that oxaloacetate may protect the upper leaf tissue from the destructive influence of active oxygen is presented. The application of mathematical modeling shows that the pattern of enzymatic distribution across leaves abides by the principle of maximal ecological utility. Light regulation of carbon metabolism across leaves is discussed. В© 2010 Springer-Verlag.
