Аннотация: Temperature measurements of current-voltage characteristics (CVC) of the (Y, Lu)1Ba2Cu3O7-delta high-temperature superconductor have been performed. Analysis of the data shows that CVC of HTSC is mainly formed by two mechanisms: the creep of the Abrikosov vortices inside the crystallites and the Andreev reflection of the carriers within the metal character boundary between the crystallites.

Аннотация: Composites are prepared from a high-temperature superconductor with the 1-2-3 structure and the low-temperature oxide BaPb3/4Bi1/4O3 with various volume concentrations of the high-temperature and low-temperature superconductors. The temperature dependences of the electrical resistivities and critical current densities of the composites are measured. It is shown experimentally that these composites comprise a synthetically created network of Josephson weak links (with a specified degree of coupling). (C) 1997 American Institute of Physics.

Аннотация: A technique to determine anchoring energy of planar MBBA layer with cleavage surfaces of triglycine sulphate is presented. The method is based on guest-host phenomenon in impure nematic. The anchoring energy W = (1.0 +/- 0.3).10(-4) erg/cm2 is calculated within Rapini-Papoular approximation.

Аннотация: The effect of thermally activated phase slippage (TAPS) on the resistive properties of Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7+O-7 composites has been studied. The experimental temperature dependences of the electrical resistance are described in terms of the TAPS mechanism using the temperature dependences of the tunnel-junction critical current. Аннотация: Results of studying magnetization and Hall effect in amorphous Dy-Co films are discussed in the paper. A transition into non-collinear state induced by magnetic fields has been found. The experimental results are compared with phenomenological theory of spin-reorientation transitions in ferrimagnets in vicinity of magnetic compensation point. The constant of intersublattice interaction has been estimated.

Аннотация: Temperature dependences of transport critical current (Jc) have been studied for polycrystalline HTSC samples of 1-2-3 structure with Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 composition. The main aim of the investigation was the effect of the boundaries between crystallites on the current-carrying capability of the high-temperature superconductor. The modifications of the boundaries have been achieved by the long time heat treatments up to one week (?150 hours). It has been demonstrated experimentally that the Kulik-Omel'yanchuk theory describes adequately the temperature dependence of Jc of samples with short heat treatment time in "clean" limit. The absolute value of Jc (4.2k) ? 1.4kA/cm2. Long-term heat treated samples have Jc(4.2K) ? 0.1kA/cm2 and the temperature dependence of Jc becomes close to predictions of de Gennes theory. В© 1994.

Аннотация: Composites HTSC + normal metal with magnetic and nonmagnetic impurities have been prepared. Transport properties of these composites have been studied. Supercurrent in the composites is weakened by magnetic impurities in greater degree than by nonmagnetic ones. It indicates that carriers in HTSC with 1-2-3 structure are mostly the conventional singlet pairs.
