Аннотация: The Raman spectra of the elpasolite (Rb2KInF6) crystal have been studied in the pressure range from 0 to 5.3 GPa at a temperature of 295 K. A phase transition at a pressure of approximately 0.9 GPa has been found. An analysis of the variations in the spectral parameters has led to the conclusion that the phase transition to a distorted phase is accompanied by the doubling of the volume of the primitive cell of the initial cubic phase. Numerical calculations of the lattice dynamics in the Rb2KInF6 crystal have been performed. The numerical simulation has established that the phase transition at a pressure of 0.9 GPa is associated with condensation of the F (lg) mode. A probable high-pressure phase is the phase with space group C2/m.

Аннотация: A microwave detector based on a self-sustained oscillator circuit is proposed as a means to investigate the real and imaginary components of the dielectric permittivity of liquid crystals in external electric and magnetic fields. Results are given for measurements of a 500 MHz oscillator frequency for two types of nematic crystals, 5CBP and MBBA. Fundamental regularities are identified in the behavior of the microwave dielectric permittivity of samples in electric and magnetic fields. It is shown that the minimum of the high-frequency dielectric loss in liquid crystals correspond to a situation in which the long axes of the molecules are oriented parallel to the direction of the microwave electric field. Аннотация: The results of a study of the transport and magnetic properties of some sulfides of 3d elements are reported. The concentration transitions with a change of conductivity type and a change of magnetic order are considered, and the features of the colossal magnetoresistance in FexMn1-xS and CuVxCr1-xS2 solid solutions are discussed.

Аннотация: In recent years interest has been shown in crystals with the scheelite structure (point symmetry group 4/m) as promising materials for acoustooptic devices. However, nearly all the work done so far has been on the NaBi(MoO4)2 and PbMoO4 crystals. In this paper the authors give the results of a study of the elastic and acoustooptic properties of NaBi(WO4)2 and LiBi(MoO4)2 crystals from a series of isomorphic compounds with the scheelite structure carried out in order to determine the extent of the changes in the elastic and acoustooptic properties of this series of crystals when the structural elements are changed.

Аннотация: A variety of the known structures of perovskite-like crystals including cation- and anion-deficient phases were considered as the intergrowth systems of slabs containing n-layers (n = 1,2, 3,...infinity) of corner-linked octahedra BX6, pyramids EX5 or square-planar nets BX4 (B-cation, X- anion) linked by intermediate blocks of different types.([1- 3]) Some new structural types and new representatives of ferroelectrics, ferroelastics and HTSC's can be constructed on this basis. Аннотация: The structures of the well-known perovskite-like crystals, including stoichiometric and both cation- and anion-dencient compounds, are considered as intergrowth systems of stacks consisting either of n layers (n = 1 - ?) connected via the vertices of the BX6 octahedra or of combinations of layers of octahedra, BX5 pyramids, and planar networks of BX4 squares with intermediate block layers of various types. The classification of stacks and block layers in these structures is suggested. Based on this classification, the known structure types are considered and new structure types, including various possible superconductor structures, are predicted.
