Аннотация: A novel La2Mg1.14Zr0.86O6:Bi3+ double perovskite phosphor with excitation-induced blue/green photoluminescence tuning is reported. By designing Bi3+ → Eu3+ energy transfer, single-composition white light with wide-scale adjustable corrected color temperatures (CCTs) is successfully achieved. This work initiates a new insight to explore phosphors with excitation-induced photoluminescence tuning and wide CCT control for future intelligent LED lighting.

Аннотация: Cerenkov nonlinear diffraction of femtosecond pulses in one-dimensional nonlinear photonic crystal of strontium tetraborate was studied theoretically and experimentally in both frequency and time domains. Spectral features of second harmonic radiation were measured in the course of mapping the nonlinear photonic crystal structure. The local second harmonic spectrum demonstrates complex angular behavior within the beam cross section. The spectral width of the second harmonic radiation is found to be fundamental beam size-dependent, and optimal focusing should be used for exact conversion of the fundamental spectrum into the second harmonic one. Experimental results are in excellent agreement with calculations. Maximum second harmonic generation efficiency was up to 2.1% at pumping by a femtosecond oscillator. Аннотация: The formation of phase holograms by the modulation superposition method for producing a set of vortex laser beams is presented. Produced vortex laser beams are considered to be used in the scheme of optical tweezers for optical trapping and manipulation of ensembles of latex microspheres. Applying the method of modulation superposition is regarded to synthesize phase holograms by adding harmonic functions with specific parameters. The possibility of independent control of the position of produced vortex beams and their orbital angular momentum is experimentally demonstrated, being in a good agreement with theoretical analysis. The use of structured light in combination with optothermal traps is likely to expand the traditional methods of microobject optical manipulation. The results obtained open up new possibilities for optical manipulation in biomedical applications.

Аннотация: Organic–inorganic metal halides have become a multifunctional platform for manipulating photoluminescence due to highly efficient and tunable emissions, especially for lead-free Mn2+-based halides. Herein, the zero-dimensional (0D) bromides of (C5H14N3)2MnBr4 and (CH6N3)2MnBr4 with different coordination environments were designed and synthesized by a solvent evaporation method. They exhibit green and red broadband emission peaks at 528 nm and 627 nm with high photoluminescence quantum yields of 86.83% and 61.91%, respectively, which are attributed to the d–d transition (4T1(G) → 6A1(S)) of [MnBr4]2− tetrahedral and [Mn3Br12]6− octahedral units. The cases emphasize the effect of organic ligands on the intrinsic emissions of Mn2+ ions, thereby revealing the luminescence mechanism of Mn2+ ions in 0D isolated structures through the Tanabe–Sugano (TS) energy diagram. Thanks to their bright and stable emissions, the fabricated white light-emitting diode (LED) based on (C5H14N3)2MnBr4 and (CH6N3)2MnBr4 provides an outstanding color rendering index (Ra) of 90.8 at a correlated color temperature (CCT) of 3709 K, along with the CIE chromaticity coordinates of (0.3985, 0.3979) and a luminous efficacy of 51.2 lm W−1. This work aims at clarifying the relationship between the coordination units of Mn2+ and tunable emissions, and in particular, proposes a new strategy to explore phosphors excited by blue light for white LEDs.

Аннотация: Double molybdate scheelite-type solid-solution phosphors Li1−xAgxLu1−y(MoO4)2:yEu3+ were synthesized by the solid state reaction method, and their crystal structures and luminescence properties were investigated in detail. The composition modulation and structural evolution of this series of samples were studied and the selected AgEu(MoO4)2, AgLu(MoO4)2, LiLu(MoO4)2 and LiEu(MoO4)2 phases were analyzed based on the Rietveld refinement. Depending on the variation of the Li/Ag ratio in Li1−xAgxLu1−y(MoO4)2:yEu3+ phosphors, the difference in the luminescence properties of Li1−xAgxLu1−y(MoO4)2:yEu3+ phosphors was ascribed to two factors, one reason could be assigned to the coupling effect and the nonradiative transition between the energy levels of LixAg1−xLu(MoO4)2 matrices and the activator Eu3+, another could be due to the near ultraviolet energy absorption and transmission efficiency between the charge-transfer (CT) band of O2−–Mo6+ and the 4f → 4f emissive transitions of Eu3+. The ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflection spectra (UV-vis DRS) and Raman spectra analysis were also used to verify the above mechanism.

Аннотация: Highly efficient cyan‐emitting phosphor materials are indispensable for closing the cyan gap in spectra of the traditional phosphor‐converted white light‐emitting diodes (WLEDs) to achieve high‐quality full‐spectrum white lighting. In this work, bright cyan‐emitting Ca3Ga4O9 (CGO):0.02Bi3+,0.07Zn2+ phosphor is developed to bridge the cyan gap. Such a Bi3+,Zn2+ codoping enhances the cyan emission of CGO:0.02Bi3+ by 4.1 times due to the influence of morphology and size of phosphor particles, charge compensation and lattice distortion. Interestingly, codoping La3+ ions into the current system can achieve a photoluminescence tuning of CGO:0.02Bi3+ from cyan to yellowish‐green by crystallographic site engineering. Besides, Bi3+–Eu3+ energy transfer is successfully realized in CGO:0.02Bi3+,0.07Zn2+,nEu3+ phosphors and the emission color tuning from cyan to orange is observed. The investigation of thermal quenching behaviors reveals that the incorporation of Zn2+ and La3+ improves the thermal stability of CGO:0.02Bi3+. Finally, CGO:0.02Bi3+,0.07Zn2+,0.10Eu3+ phosphor is employed to obtain a single‐phased warm WLED device. A full‐spectrum WLED device with remarkable color rendering index (Ra) of 97.4 and high luminous efficiency of 69.72 lm W−1 is generated by utilizing CGO:0.02Bi3+,0.07Zn2+ phosphor. This result suggests the important effect of CGO:0.02Bi3+,0.07Zn2+ phosphor on closing the cyan gap, providing new insights of cyan‐emitting phosphors applied in full‐spectrum white lighting.
