Аннотация: A new approach to the synthesis of films containing fullerenes and doping elements is described. It is suggested that a cluster mechanism of the target sputtering by accelerated ions makes possible the deposition of fullerenes on a substrate with a certain probability for dopant atoms being introduced into the cavities of fullerene molecules and a higher probability of their occurrence between fullerene molecules. The proposed method has been experimentally implemented by using an Ar+ ion beam to sputter C-60 /C-70 fullerene mixtures (synthesized in a plasmachemical reactor at a pressure of 10(5) Pa) pressed into disk targets with a doping element (Fe, Na, B, Gd, or Se). The ion beam sputtering of dopant-containing fullerene mixtures in a vacuum of similar to 10(-2) Pa allowed micron-thick films containing C-60 and C-70 fullerenes and the corresponding dopant element (Fe, Na, B, Gd, or Se) to be grown on quartz substrates. Аннотация: An unsteady-state three-dimensional numerical model of radiation magnetogasdynamics is used to calculate the structure of an arc discharae which interacts with an external transverse maonetic field and transverse gas flow. The velocity field and the distribution of gas temperature obtained as a result of calculations agree with experimental data. The difference between the calculated and measured values of temperature in the discharge column is approximately 5%.

Аннотация: Results are presented from experimental studies of an ac (44-kHz) arc discharge excited in an atmospheric-pressure argon jet between two copper electrodes. The first (central) electrode is a water-cooled rod with an axial opening for argon injection, while the second electrode is a loop of a tube lying in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the central electrode. The argon radiation spectra are measured, and the characteristic intensity profiles of the spectral lines as functions of the distance from the end of the central electrode are determined. All the observed transitions in the 245- to 370-nm wavelength ran-e are identified.

Аннотация: Results are given of the calculation of the structure of an arc discharge moving on parallel electrodes in air under the effect of a transverse magnetic field (0.086 T) at a current strength of 320 A. The numerical simulation is performed within an unsteady-state three-dimensional mathematical model of radiation magnetogasdynamics. The calculations reveal that fluctuations of values of physical parameters and of spatial shape of arc arise in the arc, which are caused by the gas flow past the discharge column and by unsteady-state processes in the electrode regions. Comparison is made with the available experimental data.

Аннотация: The electron concentration and temperature are measured when elements having various ionization potentials are introduced into the carbon-helium plasma that forms in a high-frequency atmospheric-pressure arc discharge. The effect of the introduced elements on the relative fullerene content in a carbon condensate is also studied. The plasma parameters are determined by in situ emission spectral analysis during the synthesis of fullerene derivatives with scandium, sodium, and silicon. The variation of the atomic and molecular line intensities of the plasma radiation with the distance from the carbon-arc axis is investigated upon the introduction of various doping substances. The optimal temperature conditions for the synthesis of fullerene derivatives with Sc, Na, and Si are found.
