Аннотация: Random nonlinear photonic crystal (NPC) structures formed by as-grown domains in a non-ferroelectric strontium tetraborate (SBO) are investigated. The domain shape and orientation are similar to those in ferroelectric KTP. Nonlinear diffraction is the simplest way to detect, evaluate and characterize these structures. Reciprocal superlattice vectors spectra of NPC in SBO are very wide and enable broadband efficiency enhancement of nonlinear optical processes. Second harmonic (SH) generation of femtosecond Ti:sapphire oscillator radiation with 1.9% efficiency is obtained using nonlinear diffraction geometry. Random quasi phase matched generation at the wavelengths of fourth harmonic of Ti:sapphire laser is obtained with average power up to 1 ?W. © 2010 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

Аннотация: Scheelite related alkali-metal rare-earth double molybdate compounds with a general formula of ALn(MoO4)2 can find wide application as red phosphors. The crystal chemistry and luminescence properties of red-emitting CsGd1−xEux(MoO4)2 solid-solution phosphors have been evaluated in the present paper. A detailed analysis of the structural properties indicates the formation of isostructural scheelite-type CsGd1−xEux(MoO4)2 solid-solutions over the composition range of 0 ≤ x ≤ 1. The photoluminescence emission (PL) and excitation (PLE) spectra, and the decay curves were measured for this series of compounds. The critical doping concentration of Eu3+ is determined to be x = 0.6 in order to realize the maximum emission intensity. The emission spectra of the as-obtained CsGd(1−x)Eux(MoO4)2 phosphors show narrow high intensity red lines at 592 and 615 nm upon excitation at 394 or 465 nm, revealing great potential for applications in white light-emitting diode devices.

Аннотация: Garnet-type compound Ca3Ga2Ge3O12 and Cr3+-doped or Cr3+/Bi3+ codped Ca3Ga2Ge3O12 phosphors were prepared by a solid-state reaction. The crystal structure of Ca3Ga2Ge3O12 host was studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and further determined by the Rietveld refinement. Near-infrared (NIR) photoluminescence (PL) and long-lasting phosphorescence (LLP) emission can be observed from the Cr3+-doped Ca3Ga2Ge3O12 sample, and the enhanced NIR PL emission intensity and LLP decay time can be realized in Cr3+/Bi3+ codped samples. The optimum concentration of Cr3+ in Ca3Ga2Ge3O12 phosphor was about 6 mol%, and optimum Bi3+ concentration induced the energy-transfer (ET) process between Bi3+ and Cr3+ ions was about 30 mol%. Under different excitation wavelength from 280 to 453 nm, all the samples exhibit a broadband emission peaking at 739 nm and the intensity of NIR emission increases owing to the ET behavior from Bi3+ to Cr3+ ions. The critical ET distance has been calculated by the concentration-quenching method. The thermally stable luminescence properties were also studied and the introduction of Bi3+ can also improve the thermal stability of the NIR emission.

Аннотация: We study the frequency doubling in a quadratic nonlinear photonic crystal consisting of periodically poled structures mediated by uniform layers with random lengths. These structures can be formed by new local impact methods for ferroelectric crystal structuring. The statistical frequency doubling theory is developed for such structures. The effect of the number of random layers and variation in their thicknesses on the second-harmonic conversion efficiency is clarified. It is demonstrated that a proper choice of the intermediate layer thickness can enhance or suppress the conversion efficiency. A new type of the Makerfringes-like second-harmonic intensity oscillations is predicted. © 2017 Optical Society of America.

Аннотация: Recently, as a key red component in the development of warm white light-emitting diodes (WLEDs), Recently, as a key red component in the development of warm white light-emitting diodes (WLEDs), Mn4+-doped fluorides with narrow red emission have sparked rapidly growing interest because they improve color rendition and enhance the visual energy efficiency. Herein, a red nanophosphor, K2NaGaF6:Mn4+, with a diameter of 150-250 nm has been synthesized using a simple co-precipitation method. Rietveld refinement reveals that it crystallizes in the space group Fm3m with the cell parameter a = 8.25320(4) Å. The exchange charge model (ECM) has been used to calculate the energy levels of Mn4+ ions in K2NaGaF6, which match well with the experimental spectra. The as-synthesized phosphor exhibits a narrow red emission at around 630 nm (spin-forbidden 2Eg → 4A2 transition of Mn4+ ions) when excited at 365 nm (4A2g → 4T1g) and 467 nm (4A2g → 4T2g), with a quantum efficiency (QE) of 61% and good resistance to thermal quenching. Based on the structure, the formation mechanism of ZPL has been discussed. In addition, the concentration-dependent decay curves of Mn4+ in K2NaGaF6 were fitted using the Inokuti-Hirayama model, suggesting that the dipole-dipole interactions determine the concentration quenching. Finally, encouraged by the good performance, a warm LED with a CRI of 89.4 and CCT of 3779 K was fabricated by employing the title nanophosphor as the red component. Our findings suggest that K2NaGaF6:Mn4+ can be a viable candidate for the red phosphor used in warm WLEDs.

Аннотация: A study of thermophysical and ecological properties of highly loaded (50% mass.) coal-water slurry based on Kansk-Achinsk brown coal and distilled water (coal-water slurry fuel – CWSF) with exposure of used water to cavitation-treatment, microwave processing of coal powder, T-900 nanocarbon additions is presented. The study shows that under the conditions of this experiment the thermal physical properties of CWSF are most affected by the use of cavitation-activated water.
