Аннотация: The comparison of the magnetic, electronic, and optical properties of the spinel transition-metal oxides AB2O4 (A, B = Fe, Mn) and their relationship with the structure and composition were studied within DFT-GGA + U approximation. The spinels were considered both in the normal and inverse structure. We have found that regardless of composition and structure, the studied spinels are ferrimagnetic with antiparallel magnetic moments on A- and B-site cations. Electronic and structural properties of spinels depend on the composition: FeMn2O4 has a tetragonal structure and half-metallic properties; however, in the inverse FeMn2O4, the bandgap opens for the spin-up channel. MnFe2O4 is a cubic insulator with a bandgap of about 1.5 eV, which decreases in the inverse structure. The superexchange constants estimate within the simple indirect coupling model and have values close to the experimental ones. The total magnetization of FeMn2O4 is drop-down to zero under hydrostatic pressure above 60 GPa due to the strong dependence of the magnetic moment of octahedral manganese ion on the pressure. The microscopic mechanisms of the relationship between the structure, composition and properties are studied.

Аннотация: The development of lead‐free perovskite photoelectric materials has been an extensive focus in the recent years. Herein, a novel one‐dimensional (1D) lead‐free CsMnCl3(H2O)2 single crystal is reported with solvatochromic photoluminescence properties. Interestingly, after contact with N,N‐dimethylacetamide (DMAC) or N,N‐dimethylformamide (DMF), the crystal structure can transform from 1D CsMnCl3(H2O)2 to 0D Cs3MnCl5 and finally transform into 0D Cs2MnCl4(H2O)2. The solvent‐induced crystal‐to‐crystal phase transformations are accompanied by loss and regaining of water of crystallization, leading to the change of the coordination number of Mn2+. Correspondingly, the luminescence changes from red to bright green and finally back to red emission. By fabricating a test‐paper containing CsMnCl3(H2O)2, DMAC and DMF can be detected quickly with a response time of less than one minute. These results can expand potential applications for low‐dimensional lead‐free perovskites.

Аннотация: The permittivity of TmxMn1–xS (0 < x < 0.15) solid solutions is measured in the frequency range of 102–106 Hz at temperatures of 300–500 K in magnetic fields of up to 12 kOe. The migration and relaxation conductivity contributions to the electric polarization are established. The relaxation time and activation energy are calculated using the Debye model. A decrease in the capacitance and relaxation time in a magnetic field is observed. The electron polarization relaxation channel provided by recombination of the electron–hole pairs is found using the infrared spectroscopy investigations.

Аннотация: The structure and transport of YbXMn1-XS and TmXMn1-XS sulfides (0.05=X=0.2) was studied in the temperature range 80-500K. The temperature ranges of local deformations and a decrease of the thermal expansion coefficient with increasing concentration X caused of anomalous compressibility in the magnetically ordered region are determined for a system doped with ytterbium. Pinning temperatures of lattice polarons are established, which are accompanied by lattice deformation and IR mode condensation for a system doped with thulium.

Аннотация: The effect of a magnetic field on the electrical and magnetic properties of manganese sulfide upon electron doping in the YbxMn1−xS (0.05 ˂ x ˂ 0.2) compound has been investigated. The change in the conductivity type from the Poole–Frenkel to Mott law have been established using the I–V characteristics and the change in the carrier type upon temperature and concentration variations has been observed. The effect of the sample prehistory on the conductivity, impedance, and magnetic susceptibility under the action of a magnetic field in a wide temperature range has been found. The trivalent state of ytterbium ions has been determined using the electron paramagnetic resonance study. The dynamic JT transitions temperature are found by IR method and by the electron paramagnetic resonance. Anomalies of carrier mobility and magneto-impedance were found in the vicinity of the Jahn-Teller transitions. The experimental data are explained by the localization of electrons with the formation of the interstitial orbital momenta and an orbital momentum into the site. The sample prehistory is related to the lifting of the orbital angular moments degeneracy and the direction of the axis of distortion of the octahedrons in a magnetic field.

Аннотация: Mn2+-based hybrid materials have become the hotspot of current research studies owing to their high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY), low-cost, environmental friendliness and stability. For the first time, we report the hydrothermal synthesis of two lead-free zero-dimensional luminescent organic-inorganic hybrid compounds, PefH2[MnBr4] (1) and PefH2[MnCl4] (2) (Pef = pefloxacin). They were characterized by elemental analysis, TG-DSC, single-crystal and powder XRD. Compounds 1–2 exhibit a distorted tetrahedral geometry around the manganese(II) metal center, which is isolated from the same centers by bulky pefloxacindi-ium (PefH22+) ions with a Mn···Mn distance of 7.3 Å. Their structures are stabilized by N—H···O, O—H···X (X = Br, Cl), C—H···O and C—H···X hydrogen bands and π–π stacking interaction. Thermal decomposition starts at T › 230°С for 1 and T › 210°С for 2 and proceeds for several stages. Upon UV excitation compounds exhibit a bright green emission with a moderate PLQY of 45% for 1 and 30% for 2. The influence of the halide ion and metal ion on the photoluminescence properties of isostructural compounds PefH2[MX4] (M = Mn, Zn and X = Br, Cl) is discussed.

Аннотация: Данная работа посвящена изучению кинетических эффектов в сульфидах марганца допированных элементами с переменной валентностью (Yb и Tm с Х≤0.05) измеренных в диапазоне температур (77-400 K) и магнитных полей до 12 кЭ. Из ВАХ определены механизмы проводимости, для системы Yb0.05Mn0.99S преобладает Пула– Френкеля, а для Tm0.01Mn0.99S описывается законом Ома. Обнаружен эффект магнитосопротивления в этих системах. Наблюдаются аномалии на температурной зависимости термоЭДС.
This work is to the study of kinetic effects in manganese sulfides doped with elements with variable valence (Yb and Tm with X≤0.05) measured in the temperature range (77-400 K) and magnetic fields up to 12 kOe. The conduction mechanisms are determined by I – V characteristics: for the Yb0.05Mn0.99S is Poole – Frenkel, and for Tm0.01Mn0.99S it is described by Ohm's law. The effect of magnetoresistance is found in these systems. Anomalies are observed in the temperature dependence of the thermoEMF.
