Аннотация: INTAS (The International Association for the Promotion of Cooperation with Scientists from the New Independent States of the Former Soviet Union) — международная ассоциация по содействию сотрудничеству с учёными новых независимых государств бывшего Советского Союза. Некоммерческая организация, финансировалась главным образом из бюджета Европейского Союза. Являлась крупнейшим фондом, поддерживающим научное сотрудничество между учёными стран бывшего СССР и Европейского Союза с 1993 г. Программы INTAS охватывали широкий круг научно-исследовательских проблем. 22 сентября 2006 года было принято решение о прекращении осуществления программы на основании рекомендации Европейской Комиссии. С 1 апреля 2007 года прекратилось распределение новых грантов.

Аннотация: We describe a capacitive dilatometer for measuring the magnetostriction, piezoelectric effect, and linear thermal-expansion coefficient in the temperature range from 1.85 to 350 K in external magnetic fields of up to 90 kOe under a voltage of 1 kV, which operates on the basis of a Quantum Design PPMS commercial facility for studying the properties of solids.

Аннотация: A single-frequency dielectric model at 1.4 GHz for frozen mineral soils was developed, with the temperature and clay content varying from -1 to -30°C and 9.1 to 41.3%, respectively. The model is based on dielectric measurements of three typical soils (sandy loam, silt loam, and silty clay) collected in the Yamal peninsular. The refractive mixing model was applied to fit the data aggregates consisting of measured complex refractive indexes (CRI) for the three soils as a function of soil moisture at a fixed temperature. As a result, there were derived the parameters of the refractive mixing dielectric model as a function of temperature and texture. These parameters involve the maximum allowed gravimetric fraction of bound water and the CRIs of soil solids, bound soil water, and free soil water components, the latter being represented by capillary ice. The error of the dielectric model was evaluated by correlating the predicted complex relative permittivity (CRP) values of the soil samples with the measured ones. The coefficient of determination, R2, and the root mean square error, RMSE, were estimated to be R2 = 0.994, RMSE = 0.22 and R2 = 0.988, RMSE = 0.07 for the real and imaginary parts of the CRP, respectively. These values are on the order of the dielectric measurement error itself. The proposed dielectric model can be applied in active and passive remote sensing techniques used in the Arctic areas, mainly for the SMOS, SMAP and Aquarius missions.

Аннотация: A method aiming to widen the upper stopband in a microwave bandpass filter based on two-conductor suspended-substrate stripline resonators is described in this letter. Applicability of the method is illustrated by simulating and fabricating fourth-order filter that has a very wide upper stopband: Δfstop/f0 = 7.92 measured at a level -50 dB, which is achieved because the widths of the inner resonators in the structure are 1.4 times greater than that of the outer ones.

BLUE-GREEN FLUORESCENCE
Аннотация: Epicuticular waxes are a multifunctional interface between a plant and the environment. In this paper wheat leaves wax has been studied. Wax isolation was carried out using the method of gradual freezing in water followed by slow thawing. The morphology of the samples obtained was observed with a Hitachi SU3500 electron microscope. The structure period is determined by the nanotubes diameter which equals 150-200 nm. Random orientation of their long axes in the layer allows using a one-dimensional model to calculate the transmission spectrum of a photonic crystal with the help of the transfer matrix method. While making the calculations a defect that may be caused by possible interlayer heterogeneity also must be taken into account. Numerical modeling made it possible to identify the stop zone and the defective mode. Intense fluorescence appears in the optical area of the wax layer under ultraviolet radiation, thus increasing the efficiency of photosynthesis.

Аннотация: A new allotropic superhard and superdense structure of sp3-bonded boron nitride (hP3-BN) is proposed. Geometric electronic, elastic, and optical properties of the structure are investigated by density functional theory generalized gradient approximation (DFT-GGA) calculations. It is shown that the structure is an insulator with a band gap of 5.06 eV; is density is 5.03% higher than that of cubic boron nitride (c-BN) and its bulk modulus is 2.25% higher than that of c BN. The calculated hP3-BN refractive index in the range 200-800 nm is significantly higher than the indexes of diamond and all known carbon allotropes, expect for the analogous carbon h-P3 structure, and it has a large optical dispersion. Аннотация: The results of ab initio calculations of the ferroelectric and magnetic properties of the recently synthesized double perovskites LaPbMeSbO6 (Me (2+) = Mn2+, Fe2+, Co2+, Ni2+) have been presented. The ordered double perovskites with a layered ordering of cations A and A' and a checkerboard ordering of cations B and B' have been considered. The calculation of the lattice dynamics has revealed instabilities in the phonon spectra of the high-symmetry phase of these compounds. The condensation of unstable modes leads to a stable polar phase P2(1). The spontaneous polarization in this phase is found to be 30 mu C/cm(2). The magnetic ground state is antiferromagnetic with an antiparallel direction of the magnetic moments in adjacent planes along the [001] direction. The N,el temperatures are estimated in the mean field approximation. The presence of the ferroelectric and magnetic order parameters in the structure suggests that the studied double perovskites with the simultaneous ordering of the cations are potential multiferroics.
