Аннотация:
Highly efficient cyan‐emitting phosphor materials are indispensable for closing the cyan gap in spectra of the traditional phosphor‐converted white light‐emitting diodes (WLEDs) to achieve high‐quality full‐spectrum white lighting. In this work, bright cyan‐emitting Ca3Ga4O9 (CGO):0.02Bi3+,0.07Zn2+ phosphor is developed to bridge the cyan gap. Such a Bi3+,Zn2+ codoping enhances the cyan emission of CGO:0.02Bi3+ by 4.1 times due to the influence of morphology and size of phosphor particles, charge compensation and lattice distortion. Interestingly, codoping La3+ ions into the current system can achieve a photoluminescence tuning of CGO:0.02Bi3+ from cyan to yellowish‐green by crystallographic site engineering. Besides, Bi3+–Eu3+ energy transfer is successfully realized in CGO:0.02Bi3+,0.07Zn2+,nEu3+ phosphors and the emission color tuning from cyan to orange is observed. The investigation of thermal quenching behaviors reveals that the incorporation of Zn2+ and La3+ improves the thermal stability of CGO:0.02Bi3+. Finally, CGO:0.02Bi3+,0.07Zn2+,0.10Eu3+ phosphor is employed to obtain a single‐phased warm WLED device. A full‐spectrum WLED device with remarkable color rendering index (Ra) of 97.4 and high luminous efficiency of 69.72 lm W−1 is generated by utilizing CGO:0.02Bi3+,0.07Zn2+ phosphor. This result suggests the important effect of CGO:0.02Bi3+,0.07Zn2+ phosphor on closing the cyan gap, providing new insights of cyan‐emitting phosphors applied in full‐spectrum white lighting.

Аннотация:
A method for electrically controlled synchronous mode tuning in the transmittance and reflectance spectra of a photonic structure consisting of an asymmetric dielectric Fabry-Perot microcavity and an ultrathin metallic film has been proposed. The excitation of a broadband Tamm plasmon polariton at a metal/Bragg mirror interface is accompanied by the two phenomena opposing one another. Due to the strong absorption induced by the metal, a sufficient rejection level in the reflection of the off-resonant radiation has been obtained in a wide spectral range, which almost coincides with the photonic band gap, while at the cavity mode frequencies the structure becomes transparent for the reflected radiation. This leads to the appearance of a series of narrow resonance peaks in the reflectance spectra that coincide in frequency with the transmittance peaks. Based on the structural transformations in the dual-frequency nematic liquid crystal used as a photonic structure defect, the tuning of the modes corresponding to the extraordinary waves to both the short- and long-wavelength spectral ranges has been implemented.

Аннотация:
A novel La2Mg1.14Zr0.86O6:Bi3+ double perovskite phosphor with excitation-induced blue/green photoluminescence tuning is reported. By designing Bi3+ → Eu3+ energy transfer, single-composition white light with wide-scale adjustable corrected color temperatures (CCTs) is successfully achieved. This work initiates a new insight to explore phosphors with excitation-induced photoluminescence tuning and wide CCT control for future intelligent LED lighting.

Аннотация:
Cerenkov nonlinear diffraction of femtosecond pulses in one-dimensional nonlinear photonic crystal of strontium tetraborate was studied theoretically and experimentally in both frequency and time domains. Spectral features of second harmonic radiation were measured in the course of mapping the nonlinear photonic crystal structure. The local second harmonic spectrum demonstrates complex angular behavior within the beam cross section. The spectral width of the second harmonic radiation is found to be fundamental beam size-dependent, and optimal focusing should be used for exact conversion of the fundamental spectrum into the second harmonic one. Experimental results are in excellent agreement with calculations. Maximum second harmonic generation efficiency was up to 2.1% at pumping by a femtosecond oscillator. Аннотация:
Cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) materials used in electro-optical (EO) devices are characterized by high operating voltage and slow response speed, which hinders their further development in display applications. Dual-frequency CLCs (DFCLCs) can solve the problem of slow bistable transition, but the operating voltage is still high, especially in color-reflective DFCLC cells. Here we report a simple approach to lowering the switching voltage as well as to shortening the response time. This technique adopts hybrid surface treatment to modulate the structural arrangement of CLC molecules. Both planar-and vertical-alignment layers are employed and coated on one and the other substrates separately to improve the electro-optical properties of DFCLCs. We show that the threshold voltage for switching can be decreased to as low as 5 V and the shortest response time is measured to be 0.8 ms, which renders CLC EO devices including displays more practical for commercial purpose.
