Аннотация: The conditions for the flux growth of new Mn-Ni oxyborates with the ludwigite structure are reported. Magnetic measurement data for the samples with nickel and manganese predominance are presented. В статье сообщают об условиях раствор-расплавного роста нового Mn–Ni оксибората со структурой людвигита. Представлены данные об магнитных измерениях для образцов с преобладанием никеля и марганца. Точка изменения знака намагниченности ферримагнитных фаз установлена и проанализирована в рамках модели, включающей две антиферромагнитным образом взаимодействующих подсистемы, каждая из которых является ферримагнитноупорядоченной.

Аннотация: Temperature-field and orientational magnetization dependences of single crystals were measured. Both samples demonstrate significant field-depending temperature hysteresis and low-temperature counter field magnetization. The correlation of orientational dependences of these effects and magnetic anisotropy is analyzed; the role of spin-lattice interactions is discussed.
Измерены температурно-полевые и ориентационные зависимости намагниченности монокристаллов. Оба образца демонстрируют гистерезис температуры в зависимости от поля и существенную намагниченность, направленную против поля при низкой температуре. Анализируется корреляция ориентационных зависимостей этих эффектов и магнитной анизотропии; Обсуждается роль спин-решеточных взаимодействий.

Аннотация: The ludwigite Ni5Ge(BO5)2 belongs to a family of oxyborates which have low-dimensional subunits in the form of three-leg ladders unit structure. This material was studied by magnetic and thermodynamic measurements. Ni5Ge(BO5)2 does not show full long-range magnetic order, but one goes into a partial ordering or spin-glass state at 87 K. The superexchange interactions were calculated in the framework of a simple indirect coupling model. Different models of magnetic structure of Ni5Ge(BO5)2 and its unique magnetic behaviour was discussed. © 2015 Elsevier B.V.

Аннотация: The transport properties of the two phases composites based on Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 (YBCO) and Y-3(Al1-xFex)(5)O-12 (X = 0-0... 1.0) have been studied to investigate the effect of magnetic ordering in garnet on superconducting properties of the composites. The composites represent network of Josephson junctions where the non-superconducting ingredient (garnet) acts as barriers separating YBCO grains. It is found that magneto-active ions (Fe) in garnet are responsible for an additional suppression of Josephson coupling in the composites. At some critical concentration of Fe atoms full suppression of super current is observed in a temperature range from T-C of YBCO grains down to the characteristic temperature T,,,. This behavior is attributed to the interaction of super current carriers with spins of Fe atoms located in the barriers. The crossover from S-I-S (S-superconductor, I-insulator) to S-F-S (F-ferrimagnet) junctions is observed in the compdsites Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + Y-3(Al1-xFex)(5)O-12 with x increase. Аннотация: We present the results of an in-plane resistivity study of the solid solutions Fe1-xVxBO3. The measurements were made on single crystals with concentration x = 0.02, 0.13, 0.18, 0.3, 0.95, 1.0 in the temperature range 220-600 K. Semiconducting behaviour for samples with x >= 0.13 was found. Mott variable-range-hopping transport rho(T) = rho(0)exp(T*/T)(alpha) has been observed with alpha = 1/4 at T <290 K, suggesting carrier localization. Above this temperature the activation-type conductivity, with activation energies, E-a, about 1 eV for all samples, is observed. The possible electronic states and band structure of Fe1-xVx BO3 crystals are discussed in the different pressure ranges: P < P-c(Fe), p(c)(Fe) < p < p(c)(V) P > P-c(V) where p(c)(Fe) P-c(V) are the critical pressure values for FeBO3 and VBO3, respectively.

Аннотация: A mechanism of unidirectional anisotropy formation in an exchange-coupled ferromagnetic-ferrimagnetic film structure with orthogonal effective magnetizations in the layers is investigated. The reason for unidirectional anisotropy is the magnetic heterogeneity of the ferrimagnetic layer in the compensation range. Magnetization reversal in the magnetically soft layer of an (REE-transition metal)/NiFe film structure is discussed based on a model of uniform rotation of magnetization. It is found that unidirectional anisotropy sharply decreases the magnetic noise level in the magnetically soft layer. The field of application of these materials is outlined. Аннотация: Composites Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + Y3Fe5O12 modeling random network superconductor-ferrimagnetic-superconductor have been prepared and their transport properties (temperature dependences of resistivity rho and critical current density j(c), current-voltage characteristics) have been studied. Below the superconducting transition temperature T-m the rho(T) dependences exhibit a kink at some temperature T-m. The crossover of current-voltage characteristics from ohmic-like behavior in range T-m/T-c to non-linear one below T-m is observed. Transport properties of the 'benchmark' composites Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + Y3Al5O12 are typical for network superconductor-insulator-superconductor Josephson junction. The behavior observed for Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + Y3Fe5O12 composites is attributed to peculiarities of supercurrent carriers tunnelling through ferrimagnetic barriers. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. Аннотация: Faraday rotation (FR) spectral, field, and temperature dependencies in oxide glasses with small additions of paramagnetic elements are investigated. Formation of ferrite nanoparticles in amorphous glass matrices is revealed by X-ray diffraction. Particles have crystal structure similar to spinel structure, their dimensions are about 10-24 nm. The FR field dependencies are typical for ferrimagnetic or superparamagnetic substances depending on particle size. Strong FR increase at the samples cooling (more than twice for some samples) in the temperature interval 105-273 K is observed. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Аннотация: In the first part of this paper we outline the state of the art in the field of magnetic nanoparticles in oxide glasses. We describe the theoretical background of two complementary techniques used for the studies of the state of paramagnetic ions, clusters and magnetic particles in a diamagnetic matrix, viz., magnetooptical Faraday rotation (FR) and electron magnetic resonance (EMIR) and we overview previous results obtained with these techniques for several glass systems. In the second part, we highlight the case of potassium-alumina-borate glasses - a glassy system where doping with paramagnetic oxides results in formation of magnetic particles at very low contents of paramagnetic additions: Fe(2)O(3) and MnO. In the special case when the ratio of the iron and manganese oxides in the charge is 3/2, magnetic nanoparticles with characteristics close to those of manganese ferrite are formed already at the first stage of the glass preparation. After thermal treatment all glasses show FR and EMR spectra attesting to the presence of superparamagnetic nanoparticles, characterized by relatively broad size and shape distributions. The formation of magnetic nanoparticles confers to these glasses magnetic and magnetooptical properties typical of magnetically ordered substances. At the same time, the glasses remain transparent in a part of the visible and near infrared spectral range and display a high FR value.
