primary concentrate -- magnetite ore -- lightly-oxidized ore -- magnetic properties
Аннотация: The article presents basic magnetic characteristics of nine primary concentrates produced from Siberian magnetite ore and a lightly oxidized iron ore and supplied as a feedstock to Abagur enrichment-agglomeration plant. The best magnetic properties belong to the primary concentrate produced from the magnetite ore mined at Abaza, Irba and Kaz deposits; the weakest properties characterize the lightly oxidized ore from Izykh-Gol and Krasnokamensk; the magnetic characteristics are proportional to magnetite content in a primary test specimen. Considering this, the integrated processing of lightly oxidized and magnetite ore is recommended to lower magnetite loss in tailings of Abagur plant.

Аннотация: A number of magnetic separation processes are used to study preparability of two main hematite-magnetite and magnetite-muscovite ore types extacted it the Abagas iron ore deposit. The dry magnetic separation results were judged as acceptable for the rough processing stage, while the products of the wet magnetic separation were the high-grade iron ore concentrates. The two-stage beneficiation tests on complex hematite-magnetite ores demonstrated much higher cumulative iron recovery from the test ore.

Magnetic materials -- Magnetic properties -- Precipitation -- Electron paramagnetic resonance
Аннотация: A one-pot synthesis method for the controllable growth of magnetite nanoparticles directly during the process of co-precipitation using citrate ions was developed. The effects of the concentration of citrate ions and the solution pH on the characteristics of magnetite particles with sizes in the range of 4-10 nm synthesized by the method of co-precipitation were studied. The results showed that the specified concentration of citrate ions allowed the preparation of magnetite particles with a definite size that exhibited superparamagnetic behaviour in a particular temperature range. As the concentration ratio of citrate to iron ions was increased from 0 to 0.11, the average size of the prepared magnetite particles decreased from 10.5 to 4.4 nm. As a result, the superparamagnetic blocking temperature decreased from 300 to 20 K, the saturation magnetisation decreased from 50 to 20 emu g(-1), and the average magnetic moment decreased from 8000 mu(B) to 340 mu(B) (at T = 300 K). The obtained experimental data proved that the size effects of the magnetite nanoparticles can be attributed to the capping of the magnetite surface by adsorbed citrate ions. Thus, the suggested approach allows magnetite nanoparticles to be prepared with an optimum particle size around superparamagnetic threshold that prevents their irreversible agglomeration and simultaneously allows them to be removed from a solution at an acceptable rate. Ferromagnetic nanocomposite films -- Magnetite -- Solid-state synthesis -- Zinc oxide
Аннотация: A simple method for obtaining ZnO-FeO3O4 nanocomposites using solid-state reaction Zn + 3Fe2O3 > ZnO + 2FeO3O4 is suggested. An analysis of the characteristics and properties of ZnOFeO3O4 nanocomposites was carried out by a combination of structural and physical methods (X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, photoelectron spectroscopy, Mossbauer measurements, X-ray fluorescent analysis, and magnetic measurements). The magnetization of the hybrid ZnOFeO3O4 films is equal to 440 emu/cm3. The resulting FeO3O4 nanoparticles are surrounded by a ZnO shell and have sizes ranging between 20 and 40 nm. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Аннотация: Presently, owing to the wet magnetic concentration technology and equipment improvement, losses of magnetite iron in tailings were reduced close to 1 % at all iron ore processing facilities. This raises the question of magnetite losses limit value that may be reached on the basis of the available engineering and technical provision. The results of the investigations, performed with a view to estimate achievable level of magnetite losses at the Abagurskaya concentrating plant, are presented. As a result of the composition and magnetic properties investigations, carried out on samples of concentrate and classifiers overflow products, as well as final tailings in all processing operations, it was established, that losses of magnetite iron in tailings could be reduced to 0.5 %. With that, decrease by 0.15 % may be achieved by means of replacement of all barium-ferrite systems with the ones made of neodymium-iron-boron alloy, and by 0.30 %-through application of separators of the type PBR-P-90/250A in magnetite heavy-medium regeneration, as well as application of neodymium-iron-boron alloy magnets.

Аннотация: Fe K-edge x-ray magnetic circular dichroism of magnetite (Fe(3)O(4)) powders was measured with synchrotron radiation under variable pressure and temperature conditions in diamond anvil cell. The magnetic dichroism was observed to decrease discontinuously by similar to 50% between 12 and 16 GPa, independent of temperature. The magnetic transition is attributed to a high-spin to intermediate-spin transition of Fe(2+) ions in the octahedral sites and could account for previously observed structural and electrical anomalies in magnetite at this pressure range. The interpretation of x-ray magnetic circular dichroism data is supported by x-ray emission spectroscopy and theoretical cluster calculations.

Аннотация: A new magnetic material, C-60 fullerite powder doped by magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles, is obtained by heating a mixture of fullerite and iron(III) acetylacetonate. It is shown that the material offers superparamagnetic properties. Surface bonding between the nanoparticles and the fullerite is established. (c) 2005 Pleiades Publishing, Inc.
