Four different crystalline formations were found to form simultaneously and independently on the glass surface: stable alpha-SrB4O7 crystals and metastable crystalline forms (beta-SrB4O7, Sr4B14O25, and spherulites (presumably, mixtures of crystalline phases)). The ranges of thermal stability of the newly formed metastable phases have been established using thermal analysis.
