Аннотация: INTAS (The International Association for the Promotion of Cooperation with Scientists from the New Independent States of the Former Soviet Union) — международная ассоциация по содействию сотрудничеству с учёными новых независимых государств бывшего Советского Союза. Некоммерческая организация, финансировалась главным образом из бюджета Европейского Союза. Являлась крупнейшим фондом, поддерживающим научное сотрудничество между учёными стран бывшего СССР и Европейского Союза с 1993 г. Программы INTAS охватывали широкий круг научно-исследовательских проблем. 22 сентября 2006 года было принято решение о прекращении осуществления программы на основании рекомендации Европейской Комиссии. С 1 апреля 2007 года прекратилось распределение новых грантов.

Аннотация: The temperature dependences of the intense magnetocaloric effect T (AD)(T, H) and the heat capacity C (p) (T) of the (La(0.4)Eu(0.6))(0.7)Pb(0.3)MnO(3) manganite are directly measured using adiabatic calorimetry. The experimental dependences T (AD)(T) are in satisfactory agreement with those calculated from the data on the behavior of the magnetization. The factors responsible for the absence of an anomaly in the experimental temperature dependence of the heat capacity C (p) (T) in the range of the magnetic phase transition are discussed.

Аннотация: The indirect-coupling model is used to analyze the exchange magnetic structure of Pb3Mn7O15 in the hexagonal setting. The ratios of manganese ions Mn4+/Mn3+ in each nonequivalent position are determined. Pb3(Mn0.95Ge0.05)7O15 and Pb3(Mn0.95Ga0.05)7O15 single crystals are grown by the solution–melt method in order to test the validity of the proposed model. The structural and magnetic properties of the single crystals are studied. The magnetic properties of the grown single crystals are compared with those of nominally pure Pb3Mn7O15. © 2017, Pleiades Publishing, Inc.

Аннотация: The heat capacity and thermal expansion of the PbTiO3 ceramic sample have been measured in the temperature range 80–970 K. The electrocaloric and barocaloric efficiencies of lead titanate in the ferroelectric phase transition range have been investigated by analyzing the experimental data in terms of the thermodynamic theory of phase transitions, the electrical equation of state P(T, E), the Pippard equation, and the S(T, p) diagram.

Аннотация: Ceramic volumetric composites xLa(0.7)Pb(0.3)MnO(3)-(1-x)PbTiO3 (x = 0.18 and 0.85) were prepared. X-ray investigations have shown that rather low sintering temperature (800 degrees C) has allowed us to avoid the reaction and interdiffusion between two initial phases. Heat capacity, thermal expansion, and intensive magnetocaloric effect were measured in a wide temperature range. The sample composition has a low influence on temperatures of the ferromagnetic and ferroelectric phase transitions in composites. Electro- and barocaloric effects were determined by analysis in the framework of thermodynamic theory, electric equation of state, Maxwell relationships, and entropy-temperature-pressure phase diagram. Multicaloric efficiency of composites is discussed and compared with that of initial La0.7Pb0.3MnO3 and PbTiO3 compounds. Variation of a relationship between components can significantly increase both barocaloric and magnetocaloric efficiency of compositional material due to the mechanical stress appearing between grains of different ferroic phases under magnetic field.

Аннотация: We investigated the low-frequency dielectric properties of a Pb3Mn7O15 single crystal with manganese ions in the mixed-valence state (Mn3+/Mn4+). Dielectric relaxation was found in the frequency window from 20 to 100 kHz in the temperature range 110-180 K. The dielectric spectra of the crystal were analyzed using a Debye model. Estimations made within the model and analysis of resistivity data suggest that the relaxation behavior of the dielectric constant is related to polaronic charge carrier hopping. Around 250 K, charge ordering occurs in the crystal when the Mn3+ and Mn4+ ions are arranged in a specific order among the crystal sites. With a decrease in temperature, an ac electric field can induce a charge hop between the equivalent lattice sites available, related to crystal symmetry. This hopping is equivalent to the reorientation of an electric dipole that yields Debye-type behavior of the complex dielectric constant. The observed anisotropy in the behavior of the dielectric properties and resistivity can be attributed to a pronounced two-dimensional character of the crystal structure.

Аннотация: The single crystals Cu1 xNixB2O4 with x ¼ 0:002; 0.005; 0.009; 0.014 were grown by spontaneous crystallization and the magnetic properties of these crystals have been studied. The strong influence of substitution on the value of critical fields H?c at which the modulated states transform into a weak ferromagnetic one was observed in the temperature range 9.5–20 K. The essential change of temperature dependence of a paramagnetic susceptibility w for Ni-doped samples in comparison with pure CuB2O4 was revealed. The modulated state was not observed in the temperature range 9.5–20 K for Ni content more than x ¼ 0:009.

Аннотация: Elastic and inelastic neutron scattering was used to probe the structural and magnetic properties of polycrystalline CuGeO3. The diffraction data show that the chemical lattice remains stable in the measured temperature range 1.5 K less-than-or-equal-to T less-than-or-equal-to 296 K. At low temperature the inelastic experiments revealed a well defined magnetic excitation at 15 meV, which persists up to T = 50 K. The analysis of the spin-wave spectrum is based on a one-dimensional Heisenberg model within the spin-wave theory. On the other hand, no evidence of energy-gap opening, which would result from a dimerization of the Cu chains, could be found at low temperature.

Аннотация: The Jahn-Teller effect in the ZnGa2O4 spinel single crystal has been investigated using electron paramagnetic resonance of Cu2+ ions in the temperature range 110-560 K. It has been shown that copper ions occupy octahedral sites 16d in the ZnGa2O4 crystal with cubic symmetry O (h) (7) (Fd-3m). Аннотация: The PbMnBO4 orthoborate single crystals were first grown and their magnetic properties and ferromagnetic resonance were studied. It was found that the ferromagnetic state below the Curie temperature TC=31 K is characterized by the strong magnetic anisotropy. The significant effective anisotropy fields of PbMnBO4 determine the energy gap in the FMR spectrum, which is extraordinary large for ferromagnets (112 GHz at T=4.2 K). It was shown that the static Jahn-Teller effect characteristic of the Mn3+ ion leads to both the ferromagnetic ordering and the strong magnetic anisotropy in the crystal. In the strong external magnetic field the induced ferromagnetic ordering is retained in the crystal above the Curie temperature up to the temperatures multiply higher than TC. A weak anomaly of the dielectric permittivity was observed in PbMnBO4 at the Curie temperature at which the long-range ferromagnetic order is established. © 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Аннотация: The magnetostriction of CuGcO(3) single crystals has been measured in the temperature range from 5 to 16 K in magnetic fields up to 12 T. Giant values of the magnetostrictive strains along the b-axis is observed near the phase transition from the dimerized phase to the high field magnetic phase. The field induced magnetostriction in the antiferromagnetic phase is considerably smaller than in the dimerized phase.

Аннотация: Heat capacity and intensive magnetocaloric effect (MCE) in manganites (La1-yEuy)(0.7)Pb0.3MnO3[y=0.2; 0.6] (LEPM) were investigated by means of adiabatic calorimeter. The heat capacity anomaly as well as the values of both the intensive (Delta T-AD) and the extensive (Delta S-MCE) MCE were found to decrease upon increased replacement of La with nonmagnetic Eu. However, because of widening of the MCE peaks, the LEPM compounds show the relative cooling power, RCP/Delta H, comparable to other solid solutions of manganites. Owing to strong effect of Eu - La substitution on the Curie temperature, LEPM might have potential as the solid state refrigerants in multi-element cooling apparatus operating in a wide temperature range. Аннотация: We present the results of a heat capacity study of Pb(3)Mn(7)O(15) single crystals with approximately equal concentrations of Mn(3+) and Mn(4+) ions. In the temperature interval between 210 and 260 K, an excess heat capacity of nonmagnetic origin, most likely associated with the process of charge localization, has been observed. Also, three pronounced anomalies corresponding to the changes in a magnetic subsystem of the crystal have been observed in the temperature dependence of the heat capacity. A broad hump near 150 K is related to the formation of a short-range magnetic order. This process of short-range ordering is rather prominent, considering the appreciable value of the entropy loss accompanying the change in the magnetic state. A clear lambda-shaped peak at 70 K marks the onset of a long-range antiferromagnetic order. Another anomalous contribution to the heat capacity of magnetic origin has been revealed at temperatures below 20 K. This contribution is associated with a magnetic transition of an unknown nature, which is also clearly evident in magnetization versus temperature curves. The total magnetic contribution to the entropy deduced from the actual experimental data over the entire temperature range is much smaller than is expected for a completely ordered Mn spin system in the crystal. We suggest several possible reasons that may account for this `missing' entropy.
