Аннотация: The design of a 10th-order waveguide bandpass filter with an additional inductive cross-coupling between non-adjacent resonators has been proposed and studied. An inductive coupling is formed by a U-shaped conductor structure with grounded ends that is formed in the filter cover. This method of cross-coupling organization ensures not only the temperature stability of the characteristics, but also the manufacturability of the structure. The high selectivity of the device is achieved by both the attenuation poles located near the passband, as well as the level of suppression in the stopbands, exceeding 120 dB. The passband loss of the fabricated filter is ~ 0.8 dB at its central frequency f0=18.2 GHz and relative bandwidth Δf/f0=1.5%. The small dimensions (135 x 30 x 10 mm) and the weight of about 200 g of the device, with simultaneously high electrical characteristics show the promise of its use, for example, in on-board and ground-based space communication systems.

Аннотация: A method aiming to widen the upper stopband in a microwave bandpass filter based on two-conductor suspended-substrate stripline resonators is described in this letter. Applicability of the method is illustrated by simulating and fabricating fourth-order filter that has a very wide upper stopband: Δfstop/f0 = 7.92 measured at a level -50 dB, which is achieved because the widths of the inner resonators in the structure are 1.4 times greater than that of the outer ones.

Аннотация: A microstrip bandpass filter of new design based on original resonators with an interdigital structure of conductors has been studied. The proposed filters of third to sixth order are distinguished for their high frequency-selective properties and much smaller size than analogs. It is established that a broad stop band, extending up to a sixfold central bandpass frequency, is determined by low unloaded Q of higher resonance mode and weak coupling of resonators in the pass band. It is shown for the first time that, as the spacing of interdigital stripe conductors decreases, the Q of higher resonance mode monotonically drops, while the Q value for the first operating mode remains high. A prototype fourth-order filter with a central frequency of 0.9 GHz manufactured on a ceramic substrate with dielectric permittivity ɛ = 80 has microstrip topology dimensions of 9.5 × 4.6 × 1 mm3. The electrodynamic 3D model simulations of the filter characteristics agree well with the results of measurements.

Аннотация: Characteristics of a new miniaturized coaxial resonator are theoretically investigated. It is shown that the first resonant frequency of the resonator can be significantly lowered relative to the second one and the resonator dimensions can be considerably decreased as compared to those of a traditional dielectric filled quarter wavelength coaxial resonator. Based on the investigated resonator, a fourth order bandpass filter has been designed and fabricated. The filter stopband at a level of no worse than –90 dB extends to the frequency that exceeds the passband center frequency by a factor of 47. Calculated frequency responses are in good agreement with those measured on the fabricated filter prototypes.

Аннотация: A dual-mode microstrip resonator whose strip conductor is partially split from its one end by a longitudinal slot has been studied. The resonator has two fundamental modes, even and odd ones. The difference of their frequencies is controlled by varying the slot length. Based on such resonators, original structures of a diplexer and passband filters including dual-band have been designed. Measured performances of their fabricated prototypes prove applicability of designed devices in microwave engineering.

Аннотация: A miniature third-order microstrip diplexer comprising a traditional T-shaped dual-mode resonator at the input and one dual-mode resonator of original design, with regular strip conductors split from one end, at the output of each channel. The passband formation in each channel of the diplexer involves two resonances of the lowest modes of one split microstrip resonator and the resonance of one of the two modes of the T-shaped microstrip resonator. The proposed device is simple to manufacture and allows the central frequencies and bandwidths in each channel to be varied within broad limits. The good prospects of the proposed microstrip diplexer are confirmed by the high characteristics of its working prototype.

Аннотация: A microstrip dual-band bandpass filter (DBF) with an original miniature design is described. The filter consists of thee microstrip dual-mode resonators, which are rendered dual-mode by splitting their regular strip conductors from one end by longitudinal slots. The formation of one passband of the DBF involves the resonances of even modes of each microstrip double-mode resonator, while the other passband is formed by the resonances of odd modes. The proposed device is simple to manufacture and allows the central frequencies and widths of each passband to be tuned within broad limits. A method of DBF tuning has been developed. Good prospects of the proposed microstrip DBF are confirmed by the high characteristics of its working prototype.

Аннотация: This paper presents a ferrite tunable waveguide filter showing high Qu and high tunability in X-band. A new type of waveguide cavity resonator with an H102 operating mode was proposed for the creation of a low-loss, two-pole filter. The filter results in an insertion loss of 3.6-4.1 dB over the tuning range 8.74-9.63 GHz with a relative bandwidth of 0.92-0.79% and biasing magnetic field 0-600 Oe. This design demonstrates an unloaded quality factor of 380-396 over the tunable frequency range. © 2016 IEEE.

Аннотация: A new design of a self-packaged all-PCB ultrawideband filter based on the cascade connection of high-pass and low-pass filters is presented. The novel low-pass and high-pass quasi-lumped filter structure differs from the known one by the existence of cross-coupling between elements producing transmission zeroes at the desired frequency. The filter fabricated using materials with a rather low quality factor has demonstrated a good performance: the central frequency is 0.99 GHz, the 1 dB bandwidth is 151%, the minimum in-band loss is 0.3 dB, the selectivity (Δf 30dB /Δ f 3dB ) is 1.21, and the 40 dB stopband width is 6.10 f 0 .

Аннотация: A design of microwave power limiter having a structure of three-pole microstrip filter is developed. In the device outer resonators are coupled through an inner resonator containing high-temperature super- conducting film. Prototype of the device with central frequency 7.9 GHz and relative bandwidth 9% has insertion loss 1.5 dB in the open state and suppress a signal not less 30 dB in the limitation state.Была разработана конструкция ограничителя СВЧ-мощности, имеющая структуру трехзвенного микрополоскового фильтра. В устройстве внешние резонаторы связаны посредством внутреннего, содержащего ВТСП-пленку. Макет устройства с центральной частотой 7.9 ГГц и относительной полосой пропускания 9% имеет потери 1.5 дБ в открытом состоянии и не менее 30 дБ ослабления в режиме ограничения.

It is revealed that at a certain gap between the resonators the total coefficient of coupling becomes zero due to mutual compensation of coefficients describing inductive and capacitive interactions between the resonators.

Аннотация: Miniature bandpass filter constructions based on a novel dual-mode suspended stripline resonator are proposed. Because of a special structure of the resonator, the frequencies of two first oscillation modes may be brought closer together. That allows realizing narrowband filters with the wide upper stopband. The filters have low insertion loss in the passband at small dimensions. Several transmission zeros substantially improve the filter performance. The derived coupling coeffcients account for some features in the frequency response of the filter. The second-order and fourth-order filters with transmission zeros have been fabricated and measured.

Аннотация: The behavior of the frequency-dependent coupling coefficients is investigated for a pair of microstrip resonators formed by conductors shaped as an asymmetrical hairpin. It is demonstrated that the total coupling coefficient of the resonators in a two-pole filter becomes close to zero in the region of the frequency of the second resonance due to mutual compensation for inductive and capacitive interactions. This allows a device for protection against high-power radio pulse to be developed based on such resonators with additional hairpin resonator containing control element manufactured from high-temperature superconductor (HTS) film. Аннотация: We propose a new method to match diplexer channels with a common port in which a Π-shaped strip conductor is used as a matching circuit. The applicability of the method is illustrated by simulating and fabricating a microstrip diplexer for GPS/GLONASS applications. The central frequencies of the channels are 1.234 GHz and 1.597 GHz, and their fractional bandwidths are 6.8% and 7.3%, respectively; minimum insertion losses are 1.05 dB and 1.08 dB. The main advantage of the diplexer is its compact size: 16.8 mm × 9.0 mm × 6.4 mm in housing. Using 1D models and a quasi-TEM approach, the frequency-dependent coupling coefficients between the matching circuit and input resonators of the channels are calculated, and the influence of the matching circuit’s geometrical parameters on its coupling with diplexer channels is studied. © 2020, Electromagnetics Academy. Аннотация: The paper is devoted to simulation, designing and fabrication of a microstrip 5-order bandstop rejecting filter. The bandstop filter uses classic schem, e.g. it consists of a microstrip through (common) line whose ends serve input and output ports. In the vicinity of the line a number of microstrip rejecting resonators locate, in our case five S-shaped resonators. They electromagnetically interact with the line, that forces signals, having frequenscies, bieng equal to the resonant ones, to reject (reflect) from a device. Dielectric substrate of the device has thickness 1.0 mm, and other sizes are 44.0×20.0 mm 2 . The filter described in this work has shielding. In a band 1480 MHz …1499 MHz rejection exceeds 50 dB. Transmission bands at a level –2 dB are 0…1437 MHz and 1563 MHz…3000 MHz lower and upper correspondingly. Return loss in the passbands does not exceed –16 dB (VSWR≤1.4). Good agreement is observed between simulated and experimental data. Fabricated filter has small size.

Аннотация: A 243-MHz narrowband filter with high selectivity performance has been designed. The filter comprises two electromagnetically coupled quasi-lumped resonators placed into a metal case. Each resonator consists of a tubular capacitor connected in series between two tubular conductors. The measured frequency response of the fabricated filter is presented.

Аннотация: A new planar resonator design in which a single conductor is replaced by three parallel stripe conductors located one above the other on a suspended two-layer substrate is proposed. It is shown that the resonator longitudinal sizes can be significantly reduced and, at the same time, the resonator intrinsic Q factor and frequencies of higher oscillation modes can be increased. A fourth-order bandpass filter with a central frequency of the transmission band (relative width 5%) of 1 GHz has been developed and fabricated. This filter has a -100-dB rejection band up to frequencies exceeding 10 GHz. The filter is enclosed in a metallic case with an internal size of 38 x 12 x 7.5 mm. It is shown that a similar filter fabricated in accordance with low-temperature cofired ceramic (LTCC) technology has a -40-dB rejection band up to 30 GHz, with sizes reduced to 5.0 x 4.25 x 1.24 mm.

Аннотация: Resonator of a new type is described, which is formed by two coaxial conductors applied onto the internal and external surfaces of a ceramic tube arranged in a metal case. An equation for the resonant frequencies is derived. In comparison to a standard coaxial quarter-wave resonator, the proposed device has a shorter length and manifold increased ratio of frequencies of the second resonance to the first resonance. The new resonator can be used for the creation of bandpass filters with ultra-wide stopband. The frequency response of a working prototype four-resonator filter is presented, in which the stopband at a -90 dB level extends up to a frequency that is 47 times greater than the central frequency of the passband.
