Аннотация: In this work, we investigated the ferromagnetic resonance spectra of metal/carbon composite coatings. FeC and NiC coatings were synthesized by electroless deposition using polysaccharide arabinogalactan. An analysis of the angular dependences of the resonance field showed that the coatings consist of three magnetic phases separated by a nonmagnetic phase of carbon.

Аннотация: The effect of magnetic nanoparticles coated with arabinogalactan on the viability of Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) cells was studied. The nanoparticles were studied by transmission electron microscopy, Mossbauer spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and ferromagnetic resonance. A correlation between the proportion of dead EAC cells in suspension and the intensity of the EPR signal of dinitrosyl iron complexes was found. This result may be due to the presence of NO molecules.

Аннотация: Получены покрытия 3-d металлов из растворов солей в присутствии природного полисахарида арабиногалактана. Рассчитанные постоянные атомной решетки регистрируемых ГЦК и ГПУ структур соответствуют значениям характерным для сплава Co1-xNix, что свидетельствует об отсутствии твердого раствора металл-углерод.The coatings of 3-d metals were obtained from salt solutions in the presence of the natural polysaccharide arabinogalactan. The calculated atomic lattice constants of the detected fcc and hcp structures correspond to the values characteristic of the Co1-xNix alloy, which indicates the absence of a metal-carbon solid solution.

Аннотация: In this study, nanoparticles of initial synthetic ferrihydrite have been coated with arabinogalactan. The synthesized series of samples with different degrees of coverage of particles has been characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Mossbauer spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and magnetometry. The superparamagnetic blocking temperature decreases monotonically with an increase in the degree of coverage of ferrihydrite particles, which is unambiguously related to the different role of the interparticle magnetic interactions in the investigated powder systems. Analysis of the field dependence of the blocking temperature within the random anisotropy model has shown that an increase in the degree of coverage of ferrihydrite particles leads to a decrease in the size of a cluster in which the behaviors of the nanoparticle magnetic moments are correlated. The results obtained have shown the possibility of effective control of the strength of magnetic interparticle interactions in powder ferrihydrite systems by coating nanoparticles with arabinogalactan.

Аннотация: The antioxidant properties of selenium nanoparticles coated with arabinogalactan have been studied. The nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and infrared spectroscopy. Arabinogalactan-coated selenium nanoparticles were incubated together with Ehrlich ascitic carcinoma cells and then exposed to microwave radiation. The antioxidant properties of selenium nanoparticles were evaluated using chemiluminescent analysis. The viability of Ehrlich ascitic carcinoma cells under microwave irradiation and incubation with selenium nanoparticles was assessed by flow cytometry. Under conditions of exposure to experimental tumor cells of microwave radiation, the concentration of free radicals in the cells did not change. The effect of arabinogalactan-coated selenium nanoparticles on tumor cells is expressed as an increase in the delay time for the activation of the antioxidant system.

Аннотация: Carbon-containing transition metal (Fe, Co, Ni) coatings are synthesized via chemical deposition with arabinogalactan. The crystal structure and chemical composition of the coatings are determined. Data from magnetometry and X-ray diffraction show that carbon is not included in the crystal lattice of a metal. Instead, it exists in the form of graphite inclusions. Degradation of arabinogalactan in an alkaline medium on the surface of a galvanic pair is investigated.

Аннотация: Cisplatin is an effective drug for treating various cancer types. However, it is highly toxic for both healthy and tumor cells. Therefore, there is a need to reduce its therapeutic dose and increase targeted bioavailability. One of the ways to achieve this could be the coating of cisplatin with polysaccharides and specific carriers for targeted delivery. Nucleic acid aptamers could be used as carriers for the specific delivery of medicine to cancer cells. Cisplatin-arabinogalactan-aptamer (Cis-AG-Ap) conjugate was synthesized based on Cis-dichlorodiammineplatinum, Siberian larch arabinogalactan, and aptamer AS-42 specific to heat-shock proteins (HSP) 71?kDa (Hspa8) and HSP 90-beta (Hsp90ab1). The antitumor effect was estimated using ascites and metastatic Ehrlich tumor models. Cis-AG-Ap toxicity was assessed by blood biochemistry on healthy mice. Here, we demonstrated enhanced anticancer activity of Cis-AG-Ap and its specific accumulation in tumor foci. It was shown that targeted delivery allowed a 15-fold reduction in the therapeutic dose of cisplatin and its toxicity. Cis-AG-Ap sufficiently suppressed the growth of Ehrlich's ascites carcinoma, the mass and extent of tumor metastasis in vivo. Arabinogalactan and the aptamers promoted cisplatin efficiency by enhancing its bioavailability. The described strategy could be very promising for targeted anticancer therapy.

Аннотация: The structure of sodium salts of sulfated arabinogalactan (AG), obtained by sulfation of larch wood AG with sulfamic acid – urea mixture in the medium of 1,4-dioxane was investigated with the use of Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scaning electron microscopy (SEM) and aromatic force microscopy (AFM) methods. The introduction of sulfate groups into the structure of AG was confirmed by appearance in Raman spectra new absorption bands characteristic for the deformation vibrations of d (SO3) at 420 cm-1 and d (O=S=O) at 588 cm-1, stretching vibrations n (C–O–S) at 822 cm-1, symmetric stretching vibrations ns (O=S=O) at 1076 cm-1, asymmetric stretching vibrations nas (О=S=O) at 1269 cm-1. According to XRD data the amorphization of arabinogalactan structure take place during it`s sulfation. The difference in the morphology of initial and sulfated arabinogalactans was established by SEM method. Initial arabinigalactan consists of particles of globular shape with size of 10–90 µm, but sulfates of AG – from particles of different shapes and sizes of 1–8 µm. According to AFM data the surface of film of arabinogalactan sulfates is formed by the rather homogeneous spherical particles with sizes near 70 nm. The mean-square value of the surface rounghness is equal to 33 nm.
