Аннотация: Regularities in the behavior of the magnetoresistance hysteresis R(H) in the granular yttrium high-temperature superconductors (HTSs) have been established. For this purpose, a comparative analysis of the magnetotransport properties has been carried out on the granular HTS samples, which exhibit (i) approximately the same magnetic properties and temperatures of the onset of the superconducting transition (90.5–93.5 K, which is characteristic of HTS grains) and (ii) different critical transport currents JC (which is characteristic of grain boundaries). Despite a significant (by more than an order of magnitude) spread of the JC values for the three samples, a universal behavior of the magnetoresistance hysteresis has been found, which is apparently inherent in all the granular Y–Ba–Cu–O compounds. The R(H) hysteresis is extremely broad and, in a fairly wide external field range, the dependence of the magnetoresistance hysteresis width ΔН on the field Hdec (the external field for the decreasing hysteresis branch is Н = Hdec) is almost linear: ΔH ≈ Hdec. This behavior is observed over the entire temperature range of implementation of the superconducting state (the investigations have been carried out at temperatures of 77–88 and 4.2 K). The result obtained has been explained by considering the effective field in grain boundaries, which is a superposition of the external field and the field induced by the magnetic moments of grains. The field induced by grains, in turn, significantly increases in the region of grain boundaries due to the magnetic flux compression (the grain boundary length is shorter than the HTS grain size by several orders of magnitude). The aforesaid has been confirmed by the analysis of the R(H) hysteresis for the Y–Ba–Cu–O- and CuO-based HTS composite, in which the grain boundary length is purposefully increased; as a result, the flux compression is less pronounced and the R(H) hysteresis narrows.

Аннотация: The Monte Carlo method has been used to calculate the trapped magnetic field in superconducting plates with holes. The mechanism of flux pinning on the holes is implemented with special subprocesses added to the algorithm: vortex capture and emission, both occurring on the hole boundaries. Secondary peaks related to the holes emerge on the calculated profiles of the trapped magnetic field. It has been found that these peaks disappear in plates with sufficiently strong pinning or when the computational mesh is coarse (the case corresponding to a low resolution of probes in experiments). The dependence of the trapped field on the hole radius has been analyzed.

Аннотация: The hysteretic behavior of magnetoresistance R(H) of the granular high-temperature superconductor (HTS) HoBa2Cu3O7 – δ has been investigated. The YBCO superconductors with a rare-earth element (Nd, Ho, Er, Sm, Yb, or Dy) with the magnetic moment in the yttrium site are characterized by a significant paramagnetic contribution to the total magnetization. The main goal of this study has been to establish the possible effect of this paramagnetic contribution on the magnetotransport properties, which are determined by tunneling of superconducting current carriers through the grain boundaries. An analysis of the results obtained basing on the concept of an effective field in the intergrain medium showed that the distribution of the magnetic induction lines from the paramagnetic moments is fundamentally different from that of the Meissner currents and Abrikosov vortices. The magnetic induction lines from the paramagnetic moments are not concentrated in the region of grain boundaries and therefore insignificantly affect the magnetotransport properties of a granular HTS. At the same time, the magnetic induction lines are strongly concentrated in the grain boundaries, which is caused by the Meissner currents and Abrikosov vortices, due to the features of their properties. Specifically, the magnetic flux compression determines the magnetotransport (in particular, the R(H) hysteresis) properties of granular HTSs, including 1–2–3 ones, with a rare-earth ion with the magnetic moment.

Аннотация: Vortex relaxation has been studied in a microsized HTS with various distributions of artificial pinning in the form of submicro-holes. It has been shown that, in some cases, for a superconductor with dimensions up to several micrometers, the time dependences of the trapped magnetic field do not correspond with the collective creep model. The dependences of the trapped-field relaxation rate and vortex activation energy on the magnetizing field (up to 0.5 T) and temperature (up to 50 K) have been obtained. It has been shown that the presence of submicro-holes slightly increases the relaxation rate, mainly due to the decrease in the number of random nanosized pinning centers.

Аннотация: Granular high-temperature superconductors (HTSs) are characterized by the hysteretic field dependences of magnetoresistance R(H) and critical current IC(H). These hysteretic effects are described within the concept of an effective field in the intergrain medium. The effective field is a superposition of external magnetic field H and the field induced by the magnetic moments of superconducting grains into intergrain spacings (grain boundaries). The magnetization of superconducting grains is determined by two contributions: Meissner (shielding) currents (MC) and trapped magnetic fluxes (Abrikosov vortices (AV)). To develop the concept of an effective field in the intergrain medium, the magnetotransport properties (R and IC) have been compared for two cases: (AV) the magnetization of superconducting grains is only determined by the trapped magnetic flux (zero external field) and (MC) HTS grains are in the Meissner state (the external field is weaker than the first critical field of grains). In a set of experiments, the main features of the hysteretic R(H) and M(H) dependences have been illustrated and the external conditions for implementing the AV and MC states have been established. It has been found that the effects of the Abrikosov vortices and intragrain Meissner currents on an effective field in the intergrain medium at the same magnetization values are noticeably different. This is a nontrivial fact that requires a thorough study of the impact of the anisotropy of the superconducting properties of grains on the configuration of the Meissner currents in them, as well as on the orientation of vortices both inside grains and near their surface. We suggest the explanation of observed stronger effect of the Meissner currents on the intergrain medium as compared with the effect of the Abrikosov vortices.

Аннотация: Продемонстрирована возможность создания устройства защиты от мощного радиоимпульса на основе микрополосковых резонаторов, связь между которыми осуществляется через третий резонатор, содержащий ВТСП элемент. Работа устройства основана на том, что под действием радиоимпульса, мощность которого превосходит заданный порог, ВТСП элемент переходит из сверхпроводящего в нормальное, высокорезистивное состояние, вследствие чего добротность связующего резонатора падает до неопределяемой величины, а связь между входным и выходным резонаторами "разрушается".
An ability is demonstrated to create a device protecting from intense radio-pulse on the base of microstrip resonators coupled trough the third one containing HTS element. The device operates as follows. Under radio-pulse action whose intense exceeds a specific threshold the HTS element switches from the superconductive state to the normal one having high resistance, as a sequence, the quality factor of the coupling resonator drops, and the coupling between input and output resonators is destroyed.

Исследованы передаточные характеристики устройства при работе с сигналами до 40 Вт мощности, а также влияние на полосу пропускания длительности одиночного импульса сигнала разной мощности. Проведена экспериментальная оценка времени переключения в закрытый режим.
A microstrip power limiter based on dumbbell-shaped resonators having a switcher made from high-temperature superconducting film was designed and fabricated. The transmission characteristics of the device were investigated in the case of microwave power level up to 40 W. An influence of single pulse duration of various magnitudes upon the passband of the device was investigated. An experimental estimation of the switch time to the closed mode was done.

Аннотация: Разработано и исследовано устройство защиты от радиоимпульса, представляющее собой трехзвенный микрополосковый фильтр, в котором прямая связь между входным и выходным резонаторами отсутствует, а полоса пропускания формируется посредством их взаимодействия со средним резонатором, полосковый проводник которого выполнен из ВТСП-пленки. Изготовлены макеты устройства с центральными частотами 8,6 ГГц и 9,4 ГГц и относительной шириной полосы пропускания 15 и 3,5 %, обеспечивающие подавление сигнала в режиме ограничения более чем на 25 дБ.
Construction of protection device against radio pulse having a structure of three-pole microstrip filter is developed and investigated. In the device outer resonators are coupled through a middle resonator, which is fulfilled of hightemperature superconducting film. Prototypes of the devices with central frequency 8,6 GHz and 9,4 GHz and relative bandwidth 15 and 3,5 % suppress a signal not less 25 dB in the limitation state.
