The NMR Imaging investigation results of colloid silica obtained from alkali metals silicates by acidic leaching are presented. The dynamic of nuclear spin-lattice and spin-spin relaxation times was studied during the sol-gel transfer processes and the spatial distribution of occurred processes was visualized. The methodological direction of problem associated with contrast supply on the NMR Images was examined using model colloids samples during sol-gel transfer. It was demonstrated experimentally that the development of interfaces investigation methodology seems to be very important for advance of NMR Imaging to this field of research.

Аннотация: Pronounced optical- and bias-current-sensitive features of the transport properties of a Fe/SiO 2/p-Si hybrid structure in planar geometry at temperature variation are investigated. Comparative analysis of two Fe/SiO 2/p-Si samples, one with a continuous Fe film and the other with two electrodes formed from a Fe layer and separated by a micron gap, shows that these features are due to the MIS transition with a Schottky barrier near the interface between SiO 2 and p- Si. Resistance of such a MIS transition depends exponentially on temperature and bias. In the structure with a continuous ferromagnetic film, the competition between conductivities of the MIS transition and the Fe layer results in the effect of current channel switching between the Fe layer and a semiconductor substrate. Within certain limits, this process can be controlled by a bias current and optical radiation. The mechanism of the optical effect is photogeneration of electron-hole pairs in the semiconductor substrate near its boundary with SiO 2 layer. В© (2012) Trans Tech Publications.

Аннотация: A setup is developed for measuring the ME E effect by fixing the amplitude of magnetization oscillations upon the repolarization of a sample, caused by the application of ac voltage to the sample plates. The temperature dependence of the ME E effect in a Ga2 - xFexO3 single-crystal sample is measured in external fields from 0.25 to 1 kOe at temperatures from 77.4 to 280 K. It is established that the effect disappears when the Curie temperature is attained. The hysteresis of the magnetoelectric effect related to the magnetization hysteresis is measured. © 2014 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Аннотация: We investigate the dynamic susceptibility and one-dimensional density of states in an initially sinusoidal superlattice containing simultaneously 2D phase inhomogeneities simulating correlated rough-nesses of superlattice interfaces and 3D amplitude inhomogeneities of the superlattice layer materials. The analytic expression for the averaged Green's function of the sinusoidal superlattice with two phase inhomogeneities is derived in the Bourret approximation. It is shown that the effect of increasing asymmetry in the peak heights of dynamic susceptibility at the Brillouin zone boundary of the superlattice, which was discovered earlier [15] upon an increase in root-mean-square (rms) fluctuations, also takes place upon an increase in the correlation wavenumber of inhomogeneities. However, the peaks in this case also become closer, and the width and depth of the gap in the density of states decrease thereby. It is shown that the enhancement of rms fluctuations of 3D amplitude inhomogeneities in a superlattice containing 2D phase inhomogeneities suppresses the effect of dynamic susceptibility asymmetry and leads to a slight broadening of the gap in the density of states and a decrease in its depth. Targeted experiments aimed at detecting the effects studied here would facilitate the development of radio-spectroscopic and optical methods for identifying the presence of inhomogeneities of various dimensions in multilayer magnetic and optical structures. Аннотация: A systematic study of the iron–silicon interfaces formed upon preparation of (Fe/Si) multilayers has been performed by combination of modern and powerful techniques. Samples were prepared by thermal evaporation under ultrahigh vacuum onto a Si(1 0 0) substrate. The morphology of these films and their interfaces was studied by a combination of scanning transmission electron microscopy, X-ray reflectivity, angle resolved X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and hard X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The Si-on-Fe interface thickness and roughness were determined to be 1.4(1) nm and 0.6(1) nm, respectively. Moreover, determination of the stable phases formed at both Fe-on-Si and Si-on-Fe interfaces was performed using conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy on multilayers with well separated Si-on-Fe and Fe-on-Si interfaces. It is shown that while a fraction of Fe remains as α-Fe, the rest has reacted with Si, forming the paramagnetic c-Fe1−xSi phase and a ferromagnetic Fe rich silicide (DO3 type phase). We conclude that the paramagnetic c-Fe1−xSi silicide sublayer is identical in both Si-on-Fe and Fe-on-Si interfaces, whereas an asymmetry is revealed in the composition of the ferromagnetic silicide sublayer.

Аннотация: The interaction between armchair carbon and boron nitride nanotubes (NT) with ferromagnetic transition metal (TM) surfaces, namely, Ni(111) and Co(0001), was studied by means of density functional theory. Different configurations of composite compartments mutual arrangement were considered. Partial densities of states and spin density spatial distribution of optimized structures were investigated. Influence of ferromagnetic substrate on nanotubes' electronic properties was discussed. The values of spin polarization magnitude at the Fermi level are also presented and confirm the patterns of spin density spatial distribution. © 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
