Аннотация: Bulk composites Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7+NiTiO3 and Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7+MgTiO3 with insulator volume content 7.5% and 15% modelling a network of Superconductor-Insulator-Superconductor (S-I-S) junctions have been prepared. The ?(T) dependences of composites HTSC+MgTiO3 are described well by the mechanism of Thermally Activated Phase Slippage (TAPS). The anomalous behavior of resistivity ?(T) of HTSC+NiTiO3 composites manifesting as a kink on ?(T) curves at some temperature Tm have been observed. In the temperature range Tm < T < TC the dissipation is Ohmic while below Tm the CVCs are strongly non-linear. This peculiarity is interpreted as arisen owing to Abrikosov vortices flow.

Аннотация: A model of a superconducting fault current limiter on a polycrystalline high-temperature superconductor basis is checked in the dc short circuit regime. Protection of load takes place under the conditions described in this paper. The use of ceramic materials with superconducting-normal metal-superconducting Josephson junction network having an S-type current-voltage characteristic (CVC) is shown to be effective for fault current limiter devices.

Аннотация: The temperature dependences of the critical current of Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 polycrystalline high-temperature superconductors subjected to annealing for different times and those of Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + BaPbO3 composites were measured. The results obtained were analyzed in terms of the Gunsenheimer-Schussler-Kummler theory considering the Andreev reflection of carriers in a "superconductor-normal metal-superconductor" (S-N-S) junction. Good agreement between the experimental and theoretical temperature dependences of the critical current over a wide temperature range for polycrystals with both natural and artificially created boundaries (composites) made it possible to estimate the effective length of grain boundaries in the high-temperature superconductors. It was revealed that the critical current density measured at 4.2 K is an exponential function of the length of grain boundaries in samples of both types.

Аннотация: Composites representing a network of random Josephson junctions and characterized by the compositions 92.5 at. % Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + 7.5 at. % NiTiO3 and 92.5 at. % Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + 7.5 at.% MgTiO3 are synthesized, and their magnetoresistance properties are studied. The temperature dependence of the resistance R(T) measured for the composite that contains the paramagnetic NiTiO3 compound exhibits a characteristic feature below the superconducting transition temperature T-c of the high-T-c superconductor, namely, a region where R is independent of the current j and weakly depends on the magnetic field H. Below a certain temperature T-m, a strong dependence of R on j and H is observed, which is peculiar to a network of Josephson junctions. The dependences R(T, j, H) obtained for the "reference" samples with the nonmagnetic MgTiO3 compound exhibit no such features. The anomalous behavior of the HTSC + NiTiO3 composite is explained by the effect produced by the magnetic moments of Ni atoms in the insulating barriers on the transport current. Аннотация: The existence of space inhomogeneous superconductor insulator state (SISIS) found out earlier in polycrystalline samples of high-Tc system Ba0.6K0.4BiO3 (Tc?30 K) is confirmed on Ba0.6K0.4BiO3 single crystal. At T* (T*<Tc, T*?17 K) the transition from the homogeneous superconducting state into the SISIS occurs. SISIS is characterized by the appearance of two gapes on the Fermi surface: semi- and superconducting, that are modulated in space in antiphase, the electric transport between superconducting regions being carried out due to Josephson tunneling. Thus the whole sample becomes a multiple Josephson system. Nonlinear I-V curves, depended on temperature and magnetic field, that are typical to a Josephson system, are observed on Ba0.6K0.4BiO3 single crystal at temperatures below T*. Besides, a step like peculiarity at the values of voltage of the order of one and two superconducting gaps shows up. These peculiarities are suppressed by magnetic field much earlier then critical current. Perhaps the last phenomenon is the consequence of "coherent" state of several successive Josephson junctions, appeared in the exfoliation state. В© Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Аннотация: A method to determine a value of the effective field in the intergrain medium of a granular superconductor is proposed. The space between superconducting grains is considered to be a Josephson medium where passage of the transport current causes dissipation and the effective field is superposition of external field H and the field induced by magnetic moments of superconducting grains. The method proposed is based on the comparison of hysteresis field dependences of magnetoresistance and magnetization and their relaxation at H=const. By the example of granular YBa2Cu3O7, it is shown that, in the region of weak fields, the effective field in the intergrain medium exceeds by far the external field, i.e., compression of a magnetic flux occurs. Аннотация: Simplified model for current-voltage characteristics of weak links (superconductor - normal metal - superconductor junctions, micro-bridges, superconducting nanowires) is suggested. It is based on approach which considers Andreev reflections as responsible for the transfer of dissipative current through the metallic Josephson junction. Аннотация: The correlation between experimental magnetic field dependences of magnetoresistance and magnetization hysteresis in granular YBa2Cu3O7 is established. Within the proposed approach, magnetoresistance is assumed to be determined by the effective field in the intergrain boundaries the ensemble of which is considered to be a Josephson medium. The effective field in the intergrain medium can be written in the form B (eff)(H)=H-4 pi M(H)x alpha, where alpha is the parameter of averaged demagnetizing factors of grains and the degree of flux compression. A comparison of experimental magnetoresistance R(H) and magnetization M(H) hysteresis dependences obtained at different external magnetic field sweep rates yields the value alpha similar to 10, which is caused by the flux compression between grains. The proposed model describes well most of the features of the magnetoresistance hysteresis in granular high-T (C) superconductors.

Аннотация: The transport properties of the two phases composites based on Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 (YBCO) and Y-3(Al1-xFex)(5)O-12 (X = 0-0... 1.0) have been studied to investigate the effect of magnetic ordering in garnet on superconducting properties of the composites. The composites represent network of Josephson junctions where the non-superconducting ingredient (garnet) acts as barriers separating YBCO grains. It is found that magneto-active ions (Fe) in garnet are responsible for an additional suppression of Josephson coupling in the composites. At some critical concentration of Fe atoms full suppression of super current is observed in a temperature range from T-C of YBCO grains down to the characteristic temperature T,,,. This behavior is attributed to the interaction of super current carriers with spins of Fe atoms located in the barriers. The crossover from S-I-S (S-superconductor, I-insulator) to S-F-S (F-ferrimagnet) junctions is observed in the compdsites Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + Y-3(Al1-xFex)(5)O-12 with x increase.
