Аннотация: Методом электрохимического окисления получены наноструктурированные пленки диоксида титана, исследовано влияние напряжения анодирования на морфологию поверхности, оптические и фотоэлектрокаталитические характеристики полученных нанотрубок. Показано, что напряжение анодирования оказывает существенное влияние на структуру нанопленок и, соответственно, на их фотоэлектрокаталитическую активность. Методом катодного осаждения Cu2O на анодированный TiO2 получен фотоанод с гетеропереходом. Установлено, что фотоэлектроактивность такого анода при потенциале 1В (отн. Ag/AgCl/3,5MKCl) на 15% выше, чем активность исходной наноструктурированной TiO2 пленки.Nanostructured titanium dioxide films were prepared by electrochemical oxidation technique, anodization voltage effect on structure morphology, optical and photoelectrocatalytic performances of the nanotubes were studied. The anodization voltage is shown to significantly affect structure of nanofilms and, accordingly, their photoelectrocatalytic activity. An active heterojunction photoanode was synthesised with electrode position of Cu2O onanodized TiO2. The anode photoelectroact ivity under bias 1V (Ag/AgCl/3,5M KCl) is found to be 15 % higher than that of the original nanostructured TiO2 film.

Аннотация: Работа посвящена сравнительному исследованию структуры и магнитных свойств стекол, ак- тивированных Fe и Mn, в которых при термообработках формируются наночастицы феррита марганца. Морфология наночастиц исследована с помощью электронной микроскопии высокого разрешения. Полевые и температурные зависимости намагниченности исследованы в интервале температур 1,8-300 K в полях до 5 T. Показано что, магнитные свойства стекла определяются морфологией наночастиц.The paper is dedicated to the comparative investigation of the magnetic properties and structure of oxide glasses doped with Fe and Mn. Manganese ferrite nanoparticles arise in the glasses as a result of an additional thermal treatment. The particles morphology is investigated with the high resolution electron microscopy. The glasses magnetization is investigated in the temperature interval 1,8-300 K in mag- netic field up to 5 T. The glasses magnetic properties are shown to be governed by the nanoparticles morphology.

Аннотация: Triple molybdate NaCaLa(1-x-y)(MoO4)3:xEr3+,yYb3+ (x = y = 0, x = 0.05 and y = 0.45, x = 0.1 and y = 0.2, x = 0.2 and y = 0) phosphors were successfully synthesized for the first time by the microwave sol-gel method. Well-crystallized particles formed after heat treatment at 900 °C for 16 h showed a fine and homogeneous morphology with particle sizes of 2-3 ?m. The structures were refined by the Rietveld method in the space group I41/a. The optical properties were examined comparatively using photoluminescence emission and Raman spectroscopy. Under excitation at 980 nm, the NaCaLa0.7(MoO4)3:0.1Er3+,0.2Yb3+ and NaCaLa0.5(MoO4)3:0.05Er3+,0.45Yb3+ particles exhibited a strong 525 nm emission band, a weaker 550 nm emission band in the green region, and three weak 655 nm, 490 nm and 410 nm emission bands in the red, blue and violet regions. The pump power dependence and Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage chromaticity of the upconversion emission intensity were evaluated in detail. © 2016 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

Аннотация: The effect of surface relief profiles of alkanoate-based bionanofilms to the monocyte-macrophages (MN-MPhs) from peripheral blood of patients with atherosclerosis was studied in vitro. Patients were subjected to coronary stenting. Cell morphology and phenotype (expression of CD antigens, levels of production of marker cytokines) in vitro were analyzed before and after the installation of stents. It was shown, that the mean square roughness (Rq) of the bionanofilms determined the variability of cell morphology, CD antigens spectraand activity of production interleukins-6 and-10. Also, it was revealed, that the “activity” of the surface topography of biopolymer substrates depends on the functional state of MNs, isolated in different time points: Before and after stenting the ratios of cell morphotypes and production of cytokines in MN-MPhs differed significantly.

Аннотация: Present work focuses on detailed temperature-dependent X-ray diffraction, Raman scattering, domain configuration, and photoluminescence (PL) studies in the (Ba0·85Ca0.15) (Zr0·10Ti0.90)O3 (BCZT) ceramics. The comprehensive Raman spectroscopy analysis in the present work not only validates the presence of the intermediate orthorhombic phase in BCZT, but also provides evidence of another transition: rhombohedral R3c phase to R3m at low temperature. Temperature behaviour of the lowest frequency transverse optical mode (soft E (TO) phonon) and hard modes was studied. Temperature dependence of peak positions, intensities, and linewidths of Raman phonon modes signalled the presence of phase transitions near −50 ± 5 °C, 0±5 °C, 35±5 °C and 110 ± 10 °C. Evolution of domain morphology occurring at phase transitions above room temperature was studied by piezoresponse force microscopy technique. Analysis of PL spectra revealed disorder/heterogeneity in the sample and indicated the existence of self-trapped excitons. PL spectra are composed of four distinct colour components (~2.55eV:blue, ~2.32eV:green, ~2.08eV:orange and ~1.78eV:red).

Аннотация: The growth of α-FeSi2 nanocrystal ensembles on gold-activated and gold-free Si(001) surfaces at different Si/Fe flux ratios via molecular beam epitaxy is reported. The study reveals that the utilisation of gold as a catalyst regulates the preferable orientation relationship (OR) of the nanocrystals to silicon and their morphology at a given Si/Fe flux ratio. α-FeSi2 free-standing crystals with continuously tuned sizes from 30 nm up to several micrometres can be grown with an α(001)//Si(001) basic OR under gold-assisted conditions and an α(111)//Si(001) OR under gold-free growth conditions on a Si(001) surface. The preferred morphology of nanocrystals with a particular OR can be altered through changes to the Si/Fe flux ratio. Herein, the microstructure and basic OR between the silicide nanocrystals and the silicon substrate, and the formation of nanocrystal facets were analysed in detail with the help of microscopic techniques and simulation methods based on the analysis of near coincidence site (NCS) distributions at silicide/silicon interfaces. On the basis of the simulations used, we managed to reveal the nature of the interfaces observed for the main types of α-FeSi2 nanocrystals grown. Three types of interfaces typical for nanoplates with an α(001)//Si(001) basic OR, which are (i) stepped, (ii) stressed, and (iii) flat, are explained based on the tendency for the NCS density to increase at the interface. The results presented reveal the potential for the bottom-up fabrication of α-FeSi2 nanocrystals with tuned physical properties as potentially important contact materials and as building blocks for future nanoelectronic devices.

Аннотация: Ni-C nanoparticles powder (NP) was synthesized using high-temperature pyrolysis of nickel nitrate in an organic solvent. The NP was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDXS) and selected-area electron diffraction (SAED). Structural characterization of the samples confirmed the formation of small, medium and large Ni nanoparticles with face-centered cubic structure (fcc) and enlarged lattice parameter. Magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) of samples with different mean particle sizes showed a red shift with decrease of mean particle size. © Siberian Federal University. All rights reserved.Порошок наночастиц Ni-C был синтезирован с помощью высокотемпературного пиролиза нитрата никеля в органическом растворителе. Наночастицы были исследованы с помощью просвечивающей электронной микроскопии, энергодисперсионной рентгеновской спектроскопии и дифракции электронов выбранной зоны. Структурная характеризация образцов подтвердила образование маленьких, средних и больших наночастиц никеля с гранецентрированной кубической структурой и увеличенным параметром решётки. Магнитный круговой дихроизм образцов с различными средними размерами частиц показал красное смещение при уменьшении среднего размера частиц.

Аннотация: A systematic study of ensembles of nickel nanoparticles fabricated by Ni+-ion implantation at a dose of (0.5-1.0)?1017 ions/cm2 in a thin near-surface layer of an amorphous SiO2 matrix by means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM), dc magnetic measurements, and magneto-optical technique is presented. TEM characterization of Ni nanoparticles proves the formation of isolated spherical nickel nanoparticles with diameters from 2 to 16 nm. The crystal structure and lattice constant of the nanoparticles correspond to face-centered-cubic Ni. The larger size nanoparticles are shown to have core-shell structure, which is unusual for the implantation conditions used. The shell of these nanoparticles consists of Ni, while the core has supposedly the composition coinciding with the matrix, i.e., SiO2. The core-shell nanoparticles in the investigated sample coexist with ordinary pure Ni nanoparticles, which strongly affects the magnetic and especially magneto-optic properties of the samples. For all three doses, the nanoparticles are in the superparamagnetic state at room temperature passing to the "frozen" state at lower temperatures. However, only the sample implanted with the lowest dose demonstrates the classic superparamagnetic behavior according to the shape of the experimental magnetization temperature dependencies for the zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled regimes. This shape deviation from that characteristic of the pure superparamagnetic ensembles is ascribed mainly to the particle core-shell structure. The Ni nanoparticles' anisotropy constant estimated with the help of ZFC curves appears to exceed the bulk Ni anisotropy second constant approximately by two orders of magnitude. Magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) is characterized by spectral dependence modified strongly as compared to the MCD spectra of a continuous Ni film. In the spectral range 1.1-4.2 eV, the MCD spectrum consists of two broad maxima of opposite sign with the characteristics depending on the implantation dose and the measurement temperature. The MCD spectra analysis allows one to show that the higher-energy maximum (at 3.34-3.48 eV depending on the dose) is related to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) excitation in pure Ni nanoparticles, while the lower-energy maximum (at 2.19-2.73 eV depending on the dose) should be associated with the SPR excitation in core-shell nanoparticles. Аннотация: The saturation magnetizations, local magnetic anisotropy field and coercivity values of FeCo film plated under various processing conditions have been investigated to optimize soft magnetic properties. Herein, we introduce a very promising processing technique based on the electrodeless deposition of FeCo film with carbohydrates as reducing agents. The produced FeCo film demonstrated significantly better saturation magnetization values and less contaminations, compared to those for the sample preparing with conventional reducing agent (sodium hypophosphite). The surface morphology and coercivities of FeCo films are dependent on the iron content and type of reducing agent. The coercive force values range from 12 up to 30 Oe and the saturation magnetization from 150 to 240 emu/g depending on the bath composition and deposition parameters. Maximum of saturation magnetization magnitude is reached for FeCo film with 30% cobalt. Аннотация: The morphotypes of human macrophages (MPh) were studied in the culture on nano-structured biopolymer substrates, made from polyhydroxyalcanoates (PHAs) of five various monomer compositions, followed by the solvent evaporation. Its surface relief, which was further in direct contact with human cells in vitro, was analyzed by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It was shown, that the features of the micro/nano relief depend on the monomeric composition of the polymer substrates. Monocytes (MN) of patients with atherosclerosis and cardiac ischemia, undergoing stenting and conventional anti-atherosclerotic therapy, were harvested prior and after stenting. MN were isolated and cultured, with the transformation into MPh in direct contact with biopolymer culture substrates with different monomer composition and nano-reliefs, and transformed into MPh, in comparison with the same process on standard culture plastic. Sub-populations of cells with characteristic morphology in each phenotypic class were described, and their quantitative ratios for each sample of polymers were counted as an intermediate result in the development of “smart” material for cardiovascular devices. The results obtained allow us to assume, that the processes of MPh differentiation and polarization in vitro depend not only on the features of the micro/nano relief of biopolymer substrates, but also on the initial state of MN in vivo and general response of patients.

Аннотация: A plasma-chemical method for the modification of silicon carbide particles is presented, which makes it possible to obtain particles with a controlled surface morphology. The variable parameter of particle processing was the ratio of the fraction of plasma-forming (Ar) and additional (H) gases. It was shown that at Ar/H = 100/0, the formation of a carbon shell is observed; at Ar/H ratios of 91/9 and 84/16, the particles are characterized by a carbon shell decorated with silicon nanoparticles or nanowires, respectively. The modified particles were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy.

Аннотация: The surface morphology and magnetic properties of layered Ni-Ge films were investigated. The films surface has been shown to consist of the grains of 2 - 4 nm in height with the average radius of about 40-80 nm. Magnetization temperature dependences are different for FC and ZFC processes; in the latter case, the magnetization maximum is observed near the temperature T m?50K. The exchange bias effect is observed at low temperatures. The results are explained by the formation of the antiferromagnetic phase in the interface between Ni and Ge layers due to the Ge and Ni mutual diffusion.

Аннотация: To decrease the rare earth element usage and synthesis cost of Y3Al5O12:Ce phosphor, the Y2BaAl4SiO12 compound is developed as a new host for Ce3+ employing the solid solution design strategy. The design uses polyhedron substitution where YO8/AlO4 are partially replaced by BaO8/SiO4, respectively. Structure analysis of Y2BaAl4SiO12 proves that it successfully preserves the garnet structure, crystallizing in the cubic Iad space group with a = b = c = 12.00680(5) Å. Barium (Ba) atoms occupy the Y site and silicon (Si) atoms occupy the Al site in the AlO4 tetrahedrons. An expanded study on Y2MAl4SiO12 (M = Ba, Ca, Mg, Sr) series shows a cation size (of M)-dependent phase formation behavior. The lattice stability can be related with the M type in the M–Si pair and substitution level of M–Si for Y–Al. Doping Ce3+ into Y2BaAl4SiO12 yields bright yellow photoluminescence peaking at around 537 nm upon excitation by 460 nm light. The emission intensity is quite stable against thermal quenching whereas the peak wavelength shows a slight red-shift as the ambient temperature increases. The crystallization behavior of Y2BaAl4SiO12 is suggested as melt-assisted precipitation/growth based on cathodoluminescence analysis. The highly crystalline nature of the microcrystals explains the stable emission against thermal quenching. This study may provide an inspiring insight into preparing phosphor with new morphology-structure of “microcrystal-glass powder phosphor”, which distinguishes it from conventional “ceramic powder phosphor” or “single-crystal phosphor”.

Аннотация: A cold finger cell intended for the wax deposition measurements was fabricated and integrated into an NMR imaging probe for the noninvasive study of wax precipitation processes in situ. The cell was first tested with a model system; then, a series of experiments with different thermal gradients applied to the cell were performed for a waxy crude oil. NMR imaging of the operating cell revealed the formation of a deposit with the morphology and dynamics strongly correlating with the temperature regime. At higher temperatures of cold finger, the incipient wax gel ages uniformly, giving rise to the hard and thin inner layer of deposit accompanied by a branched loosely consolidated outer layer. Conversely, the lower temperatures facilitate formation of a thick deposit which no longer ages uniformly and slow down the diffusion-controlled growth of the branched deposit structure. The results obtained are consistent with the majority of the data previously reported. Thus, gelation of the wax at temperatures below the cloud point and subsequent thermal-driven diffusion processes are considered to be the dominant mechanisms of the deposit formation. The counter diffusion and Ostwald ripening aging concepts were found to be relevant in the case of the cold finger study and account for the phenomena observed in this work. The information obtained via NMR imaging is highly complementary to the results obtained by other techniques that can aid in understanding the essential processes behind the wax precipitation phenomena. The approach developed can be effectively extended to study any thermal-driven phase separation process. © 2016 American Chemical Society.

Аннотация: A variety of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis in thin films has been found and investigated. This modification, called multiple self-propagating high-temperature synthesis, occurs in the solid phase and is a reversible phase transition. Multiple self-propagating high-temperature synthesis is similar in many respects to a metal-insulator phase transition. It is shown that for eutectic systems it is equivalent to a repeated transition through the eutectic temperature of bulk samples. It is inferred that multiple self-propagating high-temperature synthesis in bilayer films is governed by phase separation mechanisms that take place during eutectic solidification and eutectoid decomposition.
