Аннотация: Bulk composites Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7+NiTiO3 and Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7+MgTiO3 with insulator volume content 7.5% and 15% modelling a network of Superconductor-Insulator-Superconductor (S-I-S) junctions have been prepared. The ?(T) dependences of composites HTSC+MgTiO3 are described well by the mechanism of Thermally Activated Phase Slippage (TAPS). The anomalous behavior of resistivity ?(T) of HTSC+NiTiO3 composites manifesting as a kink on ?(T) curves at some temperature Tm have been observed. In the temperature range Tm < T < TC the dissipation is Ohmic while below Tm the CVCs are strongly non-linear. This peculiarity is interpreted as arisen owing to Abrikosov vortices flow.

Аннотация: Qualitative analysis of the products of plasmochemical synthesis of fullerenes with metallic nickel and cobalt has been carried out using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and electron microscopy. These studies show that the synthesis products are mainly fullerenes, metallic nanoparticles coated with an insulating layer, and isolated atomic clusters. (C) 2001 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".

Аннотация: This paper reports studies of thin films of nickel oxide obtained by the extraction–pyrolysis method on glass and quartz substrates at temperatures of 380–600°C. The films have been characterized by atomic force microscopy and X-ray diffraction. It is shown that amorphous and crystalline nickel oxide films are formed on the glass. The grain size depends on the annealing temperature, while increased annealing temperatures lead to recrystallization and a decrease in the grain size in NiO films from 130 to 35 nm.

Аннотация: Nickel and cobalt ferrite nanoparticles have been synthesized using the chemical precipitation method; the nanoparticle sizes were found to be 63 ± 22 and 26 ± 4 nm, respectively. The static hysteresis loops and Mossbauer spectra have been measured. It is shown that cobalt ferrite powders are magnetically harder than nickel ferrite powders. Ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) curves have been studied. It is found that the FMR absorption for cobalt ferrite is observed at room temperature and above. The time dependences of the nanoparticle warm-up under FMR conditions have been measured. The maximum temperature changes for nickel ferrite and cobalt ferrite particles are 8 and 11 K, respectively. Using the example of cobalt ferrite powder, the possibility of effectively heating of particles in the FMR mode in their own field without using a DC magnetic field source is shown. The observed effect can be used in magnetic hyperthermia.

Аннотация: The nickel particles with the mean size about 10-20 nm coated with carbon were extracted by the treatment of the carbon condensate with nitric and hydrochloric acids. The initial carbon condensate containing nickel nanoparticles with a graphite conversion was synthesized in the high-frequency carbon-helium arc plasma at ambient pressure with the nickel nanoparticles as a catalyst. The nickel content in the nanoparticles was 84.6 wt %. Magnetic properties of the nanoparticles are characterized by the high hysteresis and thermal stability. The sample of compacted nanoparticles is characterized by electrical resistance much higher than it in of compacted initial condensate.

Аннотация: A porous polymer loaded with segmented nanorods of magnetic metal is very promising for the design of novel microwave devices. Arrays of bi-segmented Ni/Co and core-shell Ni@Co rods were prepared by electroless deposition into porous of polycarbonate track etched membrane. An intrinsic effective magnetic field of the magnetic composite nanorods aligned in the nonmagnetic template was studied by magnetization curves and ferromagnetic resonance. The effect of the interface boundaries for two types of bi-segmented rods with coaxial and along-axis Co/Ni segmentation to effective field was established.

Аннотация: In this paper, we study particles with metallic core (magnesium) - metal shell (nickel) structure, synthesized in metal-containing plasma of high frequency arc discharge. X-ray diffraction analysis, X-ray fluorescence analysis and scanning electron microscopy show that the particles have a uniform nickel shell, which is also indirectly confirmed by comparing the results of hydrogenation of Mg and Mg@Ni particles. Measurement of volume magnetization indicates that shell thickness of most particles is not more than 22 nm.В данной работе исследованы частицы со структурой металлическое ядро (магний) - металлическая оболочка (никель), полученные в металлсодержащей высокочастотной плазме дугового разряда. Методами рентгенофазового анализа, рентгенофлуоресцентного анализа, сканирующей электронной микроскопии показано, что частицы имеют сплошную никелевую оболочку, что также косвенно подтверждается сравнением результатов гидрирования частиц Mg и Mg@Ni. С помощью измерений объемной намагниченности установлено, что наибольшая часть частиц имеет толщину оболочек не более 22 нм.

Аннотация: Switchable pillared layer metal–organic frameworks M2(2,6-ndc)2(dabco) (DUT-8(M), M = Ni, Co, 2,6-ndc = 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate, dabco = 1,4-diazabicyclo-[2.2.2]octane, DUT – Dresden University of Technology) were synthesised in two different crystallite size regimes to produce particles up to 300 μm and smaller particles around 0.1 μm, respectively. The textural properties and adsorption-induced switchability of the materials, obtained from both syntheses, were studied by physisorption of N2 at 77 K, CO2 at 195 K and n-butane at 273 K, revealing pronounced differences in adsorption behavior for Ni and Co analogues. While the smaller nano-sized particles (50–200 nm) are rigid and show no gating transitions confirming the importance of crystallite size, the large particles show pronounced switchability with characteristic differences for the two metals resulting in distinct recognition effects for various gases and vapours. Adsorption of various vapours demonstrates consistently a higher energetic barrier for the “gate opening” of DUT-8(Co) in contrast to DUT-8(Ni), as the “gate opening” pressure for Co based material is shifted to a higher value for adsorption of dichloromethane at 298 K. Evaluation of crystallographic data, obtained from single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction analysis, showed distinct geometric differences in the paddle wheel units of the respective MOFs. These differences are further disclosed by solid-state UV-vis, FT-IR and Raman spectroscopy. Magnetic properties of DUT-8(Co) and DUT-8(Ni) were investigated, indicating a high-spin state for both materials at room temperature. Density functional theory (DFT) simulations confirmed distinct energetic differences for Ni and Co analogues with a higher energetic penalty for the structural “gate opening” transformation for DUT-8(Co) compared to DUT-8(Ni) explaining the different flexibility behaviour of these isomorphous MOFs.

Аннотация: The crystal structure and magnetic properties of Co3B2O6 single crystals are studied. Orthorhombic symmetry with space group Pnnm is detected at room temperature. The measurements of static magnetization and dynamic magnetic susceptibility reveal two magnetic anomalies at T (1) = 33 K and T (2) = 10 K and an easy-axis magnetic anisotropy. The effective magnetic moment indicates a high-spin state of the Co2+ ion. A spin-flop transition is found at low temperatures and H (sf) = 23 kOe. EXAFS spectra of the K-edge absorption of Co are recorded at various temperatures, the temperature-induced changes in the parameters of the local environment of cobalt are analyzed, and the effective Co-Co and Co-O distances are determined. The magnetic interactions in the crystal are analyzed in terms of an indirect coupling model.

Аннотация: For the manganites RMnO(3) (R = La, Pr, Nd), a mechanism is proposed to explain the anomalous temperature dependences of the kinetic coefficients, resistivity, and thermoelectric power during the transition from the pseudocubic O to the orthorhombic O' crystal structure. The contributions of the bending and stretching modes of the octahedron to the formation of thermal-conductivity maxima and to the deviation from the linear dependence of ln(rho/T) on 1/T at low temperatures have been estimated. In nickelates, the metal-insulator transition is caused by lattice-polaron pinning by the stretching mode of the octahedron, and the low-temperature anomaly of the thermal conductivity is related to electron scattering by the bending mode of the octahedron.

Аннотация: The development of effective catalysts for the pyrolysis of light hydrocarbons with the production of carbon nanomaterials represents a relevant direction. In the present work, the influence of copper addition on performance of a self-dispersed Ni-catalyst and structural features of the obtained carbon nanofibers (CNFs) was studied. The precursors of Ni and Ni-Cu catalysts were prepared by activation of metal powders in a planetary mill. During contact with the C2H4/H2 reaction mixture, a rapid disintegration of the catalysts with the formation of active particles catalyzing the growth of CNFs has occurred. The kinetics of CNF accumulation during ethylene decomposition on Ni- and Ni-Cu catalysts was studied. The effect of temperature on catalytic performance was explored and it was shown that introduction of copper promotes 1.5–2-fold increase in CNFs yield in the range of 525–600 °C; the maximum CNFs yield (100 g/gcat and above, for 30-min reaction) is reached on Ni-Cu-catalyst at 575–600 °C. A comparative analysis of the morphology and structure of CNF was carried out using electron microscopy methods. The growth mechanism of carbon filaments in the shape of “railway crossties” on large nickel crystals (d 250 nm) was proposed. It was found that the addition of copper leads to a decrease in the bulk density of the carbon product from 40–60 to 25–30 g/L (at T = 550–600 °C). According to the low-temperature nitrogen adsorption data, specific surface area (SSA) of CNF samples (at T ˂ 600 °C) lies in the range of 110–140 m2/g, regardless of the catalyst composition; at T = 600 °C the introduction of copper contributed to an increase in the specific surface of CNF by 100 m2/g.

Аннотация: Nickel nanoparticles were synthesized by the reduction of nickel chloride with hydrazine hydrate in a polyol medium in the presence of sodium polyacrylates (Na-PA) having molecular weights (Mw) of 1200, 5100 and 8000. The size and morphology of the resulting nickel nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning and transmission electron microscopy. Polymers having lower Mw values were found to be more efficient in reducing the nickel particle size. A decrease in the polymer concentrations yielded the smaller particles. Magnetic measurements showed that the as-prepared powders are ferromagnetic and their saturation magnetization and coercivity are size-dependent. Compared with bulk nickel, the nanoparticles exhibit an enhanced coercivity which is due to their small size and a decreased saturation magnetization resulted from the surface oxidation of the powder. The synthesis procedure offers a simple approach to preparing nickel nanopowders on a large scale which could be used as magnetic recording materials, including high-density memory storage devices.

Аннотация: This paper reports on the results of investigations into the temperature and spectral dependences of the magnetic circular dichroism in Dy1-xNix-Ni bilayer films prepared through thermal sputter deposition of components under ultrahigh vacuum. The distribution of the components over the layer thickness is examined by Auger spectroscopy. The nickel content x in Dy1-xNix layers varies from 0.005 to 0.06. It is shown that, in the temperature range 80-300 K, the contribution made to the magnetic circular dichroism by a Dy1-xNix layer in a bilayer film with a nickel content higher than the threshold value is approximately equal to the magnetic circular dichroism observed in an isolated Dy1-xNix film at temperatures below the temperature of the phase transition to a ferromagnetic state (similar to100 K). This phenomenon is explained by magnetic ordering in theDy(1-x)Ni(x) layer of the bilayer film due to the combined effect of two factors, namely, the incorporation of nickel into a dysprosium layer and the presence of a continuous nickel sublayer in the film. Аннотация: The deposition kinetics, structure and magnetic properties of electroless deposited films Ni-P were investigated depending on the amount of sodium hypophosphite in the electroless bath. It was found that the film deposition rate is linear and unambiguously varies with the hypophosphite content from 2 to 13 g/l and from 23 to 25 g/l. The deposition rate varies widely in the hypophosphite concentration range from 13 to 23 g/l. The films are composed of amorphous Ni-P phase and fcc Ni-P solid solution with phosphorus content from 1 to 4 at.% P according to X-ray diffraction. The partial amount of amorphous phase is increased with concentration of sodium hypophosphite. The ferromagnetic resonance field is independent on the concentration of sodium hypophosphite, which assumes to be result from the laminated allocation of the amorphous and fcc phases in the film. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Аннотация: The cooperative phenomena revealed in the field and temperature dependences of the magnetization in a system of iron nanoparticles in carbon nanotubes were studied experimentally. The character of the temperature dependences of the magnetization indicates that the ferromagnetic Fe particles in carbon nanotubes are exchange-coupled. In the region where the magnetization approaches saturation, the magnetization curves reveal the power dependence DeltaM similar to H-3/2 typical for a one-dimensional system of exchange-coupled ferromagnetic nanoparticles. Аннотация: We report ferromagnetic and spin-wave resonance measurements on the electroless deposited thin films of Fe-Ni alloy including alloy with invar content. From spin-wave resonance spectrum we defined the dependences of resonance fields on the number of mode. Analysis of this spectrum shows that positions of resonance fields are described by the Kittel dispersion relation. The type and the size of magnetic heterogeneity is estimated by the spin-wave spectroscopy technique. © (2015) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Аннотация: Two new d-element compounds, [Co(H2O)6](Detba)2·2H2O (1) and [Ni(H2O)6](Detba)2·2H2O (2) (HDetba - 1,3-diethyl-2-thiobarbituric acid) were synthesized and characterized by single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction analysis, TG-DSC and FT-IR. Structural analysis revealed that (1) and (2) are discrete structures, in which M2+ ion (M = Co, Ni) is six-coordinated by water molecules and it forms an octahedron. The outer-sphere Detba- ions and H2O molecules participate in O-H?(O/S) intermolecular hydrogen bonds which form the 2D layer. Thermal decomposition includes the stage of dehydration and the following stage of oxidation of Detba- with a release of CO2, SO2, H2O, NH3 and isocyanate gases. © 2016 Elsevier B.V. Аннотация: Composite nanoparticles consisting of magnesium, nickel, and carbon atoms are studied both theoretically and experimentally. The calculations performed in terms of the density functional theory show that the jump frequency of hydrogen atoms in nickel-containing magnesium hydride increases substantially near impurity nickel atoms; as a result, the rate of hydrogen absorption by magnesium also increases. Nickel on the magnesium surface is shown to be absorbed via an island growth mechanism. Composite Mg-C, Ni-C, and Mg-Ni-C powders are produced by plasmachemical synthesis in a carbon-helium plasma stream. Hydrogen is introduced into a chamber during synthesis. It is found by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis that, among these three composites, only Mg-Ni-C contains magnesium fixed in the MgH2 compound. The process of such "ultrarapid" hydrogenation of magnesium, which occurs in the time of formation of composite nanoparticles, can be explained by the catalytic action of nickel, which is enhanced by a high temperature. Scanning electron microscopy micrographs demonstrate the dynamics of the dehydrogenation of Mg-Ni-C composite nanoparticles in heating by an electron beam.
