The epitaxial alignment of Mn2GaC MAX phase on 12 common single-crystalline
substrates
is analyzed through a crystallographical approach utilizing near-coincidence site lattices. This method effectively predicts epitaxial relationships in MAX phase thin films grown on MgO(111) and Al2O3(001), as well as prospective rutile, muscovite, MgAl2O and SrTiO3
substrates
, highlighting the chemical affinities and atomic configurations at their interfaces. Novel epitaxial relationships for Mn2GaC MAX phase are identified, offering alternatives to the traditional (001) out-of-plane orientation and exploring variations in epitaxial lattice stress. Additionally, this study examines the temperature dependence of interface strain for the most promising orientation relationship candidates, offering insights into the effect of substrate temperature on the growth of the MAX phase thin films.

A procedure has been proposed for producing ceramic
substrates
for filtration membranes based on a narrow fraction of fine fly ash microspheres using cold uniaxial pressing followed by high-temperature firing. It has been shown that increasing the sintering temperature from 1000 to 1150°C leads to a decrease in open porosity from 40 to 24%, a decrease in the average pore size from 1.60 to 0.34 μm, and an increase in the compressive strength from 9.5 to 159 MPa. The resulting
substrates
are characterized by water permeability values of 1210, 310, 240, 170 L m−2 h−1 bar−1 at sintering temperatures of 1000, 1050, 1100 and 1150°C, respectively. Experiments on filtration of aqueous suspensions of fine microspheres (dav = 2.5 µm) and microsilica (dav = 1.9 μm) through a substrate produced at a sintering temperature of 1150°C have shown the rejection close to 100%. The proposed methodology for using ash waste in the production of membrane materials promotes the development of technologies for the integrated processing of thermal energy waste.

The effect of the MnxGey buffer layer on the morphology, transport and magnetic properties of Mn5Ge3 thin films grown on
substrates
Si(111) has been studied. Using X-ray diffraction analysis and atomic force microscopy, it has been found that changing the thickness and structure of the buffer layer with a gradient MnxGey composition has made it possible to control the crystalline quality and smoothness of epitaxial films. Changing the microstructure and surface roughness has not affected the temperature of the phase transitions revealed from the temperature dependences of the resistivity and magnetization at 75 and 300 K. It has been shown that the features of the magnetization curve shape for films with different buffer layers have been closely related to the inhomogeneity of the films in thickness and surface roughness while maintaining the micromagnetic constants and orientation of the easy magnetization axis. The value of the change in the magnetic part of entropy ΔS has been calculated to be 2.1 J kg–1 K–1 at 1 T, which is comparable with the effect in gadolinium and exceeds the effect in Mn5Ge3(001) films grown on GaAs
substrates

Исследовано поведение спектров ферромагнитного резонанса тонких магнитных пленок из пермаллоя Fe30Ni70 толщиной 50 нм в зависимости от проводимости кремниевой подложки толщиной 0.25 мм. Пленки получены вакуумным магнетронным напылением с использованием DC-магнетрона. Спектры снимались на сканирующем спектрометре ферромагнитного резонанса на частоте измерительной головки 3.123 ГГц с локальностью измерения ∼ 1.0 мм2, определяемой площадью отверстия в измерительной головке. Обнаружено, что в определенном интервале проводимости подложки спектры, снятые в случае положения образца пленкой к измерительному отверстию, инвертируются, когда к измерительному отверстию обращена свободная сторона подложки. Результаты электродинамического анализа одномерной модели, отражающей условия проведенного эксперимента, качественно согласуются с результатами измерений.The behavior of the ferromagnetic resonance spectra of thin magnetic films made of permalloy Fe30Ni70 with a thickness of 50 nm was studied depending on the conductivity of a 0.25 mm thick silicon substrate. The films were obtained by vacuum magnetron sputtering using a DC magnetron. The spectra were taken on a scanning ferromagnetic resonance spectrometer at a frequency of 3.123 GHz with a measurement locality of ∼ 1.0 mm2, determined by the area of the hole in the measuring head. It was found that in a certain range of substrate conductivity, the spectra taken when the sample was positioned with the film facing the measuring hole are inverted when the free side of the substrate faces the measuring hole. The results of the electrodynamic analysis of the one-dimensional model, reflecting the conditions of the experiment, are in qualitative agreement with the measurement results.

Samples of two-layer ceramics based on polydisperse powder of the pearlite mineral and foam silicates possessing high compressive strength up to 50 MPa, thermal stability up to 1150°C, and water permeability of 272 m3/h m2 bar have been obtained. According to the X-ray powder diffraction analysis, the supporting substrate material is X-ray amorphous. The average pore size of the supporting substrate is 40 µm, while the average pore size of the modifying layer is 17 µm according to the bubble method and electron microscopy. The obtained materials are promising for use as
substrates
of microfiltration, ultrafiltration, and nanofiltration membranes.

The possibility of growth of thin Mn2GaC MAX phase films on Al2O3
substrates
with various orientations and their magnetic properties have been studied. The most favorable orientation relationships and interface planes in the Mn2GaC//Al2O3 system, which indicate the possibility of growth on C-face (0001), S-face (011¯1¯), N‑face (112¯3¯), and R-face (01¯12¯) sapphire
substrates
, have been predicted within a geometric approach. Using the electron density functional method, the possible magnetic properties of continuous ultrathin Mn2GaC films have been calculated under the condition of conservation of uniform expansions/compressions of the MAX phase lattice, which are induced by growth on the predicted
substrates

The effect of the deformation of the Mn2GaC lattice on magnetic ordering and magnetic moments has been determined, and the possibility of a transition from an antiferromagnetic to a ferromagnetic state under the action of external magnetic fields has been evaluated. В культуре бактерий Cupriavidus necator B10646 в режиме синтеза резервных полигидроксиалканоатов при включении в состав ростовой среды, помимо основного субстрата, глюкозы, субстратов-предшественников различных мономеров монокарбоновых кислот – солей валериановой и гексановой кислот, пропионата, γ-бутиролактона, синтезировано семейство трех- и четырехкомпонентных полимеров с различным набором и соотношением мономеров и исследованы физико-химические свойства. Трехкомпонентные образцы были образованы мономерами 3-гидроксибутирата (3ГБ), 3-гидроксивалерата (3ГВ), 4-гидроксибутирата (4ГБ) или 3-гидроксигексаноата (3ГГ) и имели следующие составы: П(3ГБ/3ГВ/4ГБ) и П(3ГБ/3ГВ/4ГГ); четырехкомпонентные сополимеры имели состав П(3ГБ/3ГВ/4ГБ/3ГГ). Все сополимерные образцы, независимо от состава и соотношения мономеров, обладали сниженными значениями молекулярной массы и повышенными значениями полидисперсности по сравнению с высококристалличным гомополимером 3-гидроксибутирата, но сохраняли свойства термостабильности, имея разрыв между температурой плавления и термической деградации не менее 100-110 °С. Включение в С-цепь 3ГБ мономеров 3ГВ, 4ГБ и 3ГГ вызывало значительные изменения соотношения кристаллической и аморфной фаз и снижение степени кристалличности (Сх), зависящие от типа мономеров и их содержания в сополимере. Максимальное снижение Сх (до 9-17 %) зарегистрировано у трехкомпонентных образцов П(3ГБ/3ГВ/4ГБ), у четырехкомпонентных сополимеров П(3ГБ/3ГВ/4ГБ/3ГГ) – до 30-36 %. Доказана возможность синтеза полимеров разного, в том числе нового, состава, существенно различающихся базовыми свойствами.Cupriavidus necator B10646 bacterial cells were cultivated in the mode of synthesis of the reserve polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) in the growth medium that contained, in addition to glucose as the main substrate, precursor
substrates
of the monomers of various monocarboxylic acids – salts of valeric and hexanoic acids, propionate, and γ-butyrolactone. PHA terpolymers and quaterpolymers with different compositions and proportions of monomers were synthesized, and their physicochemical properties were studied. The terpolymers were composed of monomers of 3-hydroxybutyrate (3HB), 3-hydroxyvalerate (3HV), 4-hydroxybutyrate (4HB), or 3-hydroxyhexanoate (3HHx) and had the following compositions: P(3HB/3HB/4HHx) and P(3HB/3HV/4HHx). The quaterpolymers had the following composition: P(3HB/3HV/4HB/3HHx). All copolymer samples, regardless of the composition and proportions of monomers, had lower molecular weights and higher polydispersity values compared to the highly crystalline 3-hydroxybutyrate homopolymer, but retained thermal stability properties, with a difference between the melting point and thermal degradation of at least 100-110 °С. The inclusion of 3HV, 4HB, and 3HHx monomers in the C-chain of 3HB caused changes in the crystalline to amorphous phase ratio and a significant decrease in the degree of crystallinity (Cx), which depended on the type of monomers and their contents in the copolymer. The maximum decrease in Cx (9-17 %) was detected in the P(3HB/3HV/4HB) terpolymer and the P(3HB/3HV/4HB/3HHx) quaterpolymer (30-36 %). The study confirms that there is the possibility of synthesizing polymers with various compositions, including new ones, which differ significantly in their basic properties.

Films were prepared from 2% solutions of biodegradable poly-3-hydroxybutyrate [P(3HB)] and investigated. The polymer was synthesized by the Cupriavidus necator B-10646 bacterium cultivated using various carbon sources (glucose and glycerol of different degrees of purity, containing 0.3 to 17.93% impurities). Glycerol as the substrate influenced molecular-weight properties and crystallinity of the polymer without affecting its temperature characteristics. The P(3HB) specimens synthesized from glycerol had reduced Mw (300–400 kDa) and degree of crystallinity (50–55%) compared to the specimens synthesized from glucose (860 kDa and 76%, respectively). The low-crystallinity P(3HB) specimens, regardless of the degree of purity of glycerol, produced a beneficial effect on the properties of polymer films, which had a better developed folded surface and increased hydrophilicity. The values of the highest roughness (Ra) of the films synthesized from glycerol were 1.8 to 4.0 times lower and the water angles 1.4–1.6 times smaller compared to the films synthesized from glucose (71.75 nm and 87.4°, respectively). Those films performed better as cell scaffolds: the number of viable NIH fibroblasts was 1.7–1.9 times higher than on polystyrene (control) or films of P(3HB) synthesized from glucose.

The Nd1Bi2Fe5O12/Nd2Bi1Fe4Ga1O12 polycrystalline films on the glass substrate and the Nd0.5Bi2.5Fe5O12 epitaxial films on the single-crystal gadolinium gallium garnet substrate have been investigated by impedance and dielectric spectroscopy. The inductive contribution to the impedance and two relaxation channels related to ferroelectric domains and migration polarization have been established. The magnetocapacitance and magnetoimpedance have been determined. The conductive and polarization currents and the phase difference between them for the films of two types have been determined. The critical temperatures of the polarization disappearance and hysteresis I–V have been found. A model of the polarization caused by the piezoelectric effect and flexoelectric interaction has been proposed. I–V hysteresis is explained by the presence of ferroelectric domains near the interface and is associated with the hysteresis of the electric polarization.

Structural modulation in thin films plays a substantial role in the formation of their magnetic properties. By producing topographic patterns in thin films, it is possible to engineer their magnetic response. Here, we report on the numerical study of the relationship between structural and static magnetic properties of thin films obliquely deposited on
substrates
with the sinusoidal surface. 3D Monte Carlo film growth simulations show that, under certain deposition conditions, an inhomogeneous columnar morphology can form in the films caused by the shadowing effect and the rippled substrate. Calculations of the demagnetizing tensors for these films demonstrate that their columnar structure is the source of the shape-induced uniaxial magnetic anisotropy that varies nonmonotonically with the deposition angle. Micromagnetic simulations of the generated films confirm the uniaxial character of the shape-induced anisotropy, and also show that magnetization reversal occurs via an incoherent rotation of magnetic moments.

Nanocrystalline magnetite (Fe3O4) films with various preferred crystallite orientations were grown on oxidized silicon surface by reactive iron deposition in an oxygen atmosphere. Depending on the partial pressure of oxygen (PO2), the evolution of the structural, magnetic, and magnetotransport properties of the grown films was investigated. We found that the growth of films containing only the Fe3O4 phase occurs in a certain PO2 range, and the magnetite crystallites may have (311) or (110) preferred orientation. It was revealed that films with (311) and (110) textures have a column structure. An increase in the PO2 leads to a structure transformation from (311) to (110) texture with larger crystallites. A film with (110) texture showed higher values of saturation magnetization, magnetoresistance and spin polarization. The analysis of approach to magnetic saturation revealed that the local magnetic anisotropy of crystallites in textured films is much higher than the anisotropy of bulk magnetite due to the large surface contribution. The FORC diagram method in combination with the approach to magnetic saturation proved the existence of the exchange coupling between large and small grains. Our results open the reliable route for crystal texture-depending manipulation of functional properties of thin magnetite films for advanced spintronic applications.

The effect of surface relief profiles of alkanoate-based bionanofilms to the monocyte-macrophages (MN-MPhs) from peripheral blood of patients with atherosclerosis was studied in vitro. Patients were subjected to coronary stenting. Cell morphology and phenotype (expression of CD antigens, levels of production of marker cytokines) in vitro were analyzed before and after the installation of stents. It was shown, that the mean square roughness (Rq) of the bionanofilms determined the variability of cell morphology, CD antigens spectraand activity of production interleukins-6 and-10. Also, it was revealed, that the “activity” of the surface topography of biopolymer

depends on the functional state of MNs, isolated in different time points: Before and after stenting the ratios of cell morphotypes and production of cytokines in MN-MPhs differed significantly.

Представлены результаты исследования дереворазрушающих свойств сибирских штаммов ксилотрофных базидиомицетов Armillaria, Ganoderma, Fomitopsis, Heterobasidion и Porodaedalea. Определены их ростовые параметры и ферментативная активность при твердофазном и глубинном культивировании. Быстрорастущими культурами на целлюлозо-, танинсодержащих средах, хвойных и лиственных субстратах (исходных и гидродинамически активированных) являются Fomitopsis pinicola и Ganoderma lucidum. Базидиальные грибы проявляют различную ростовую реакцию на предварительную гидродинамическую активацию березовых опилок (ускорение роста / замедление / индифферентность). Максимальная дереворазрушающая активность на древесине Abies sibirica отмечена для грибов Armillaria borealis, Ganoderma tsugae, G. lucidum, F. pinicola и Porodaedalea niemelaei: убыль массы субстрата составила 8–11%; сумма полисахаридов уменьшилась в 1.4 раза преимущественно за счет ферментолиза трудногидролизуемых полисахаридов. Высокие показатели ферментативной активности грибов отмечены при твердофазном и глубинном культивировании с индуктором. Максимальная активность фенолоксидазы характерна для G. tsugae (1.2 ед/г·с); карбоксиметилцеллюлазы – для штаммов F.pinicola и G. lucidum (11.8 и 10.3 ед/мл); ксиланазы – для H. abietinum (3.8 ед/мл). По совокупности показателей экспресс-тестов, количественного определения ферментативной активности, ростовых параметров на лигноцеллюлозных субстратах и степени биоконверсии древесины наиболее перспективным продуцентом лигнолитических ферментов в условиях in vitro является штамм Gl4-16A G. lucidum; целлюлолитических ферментов – штамм Fp6-17 F. pinicola.The results of a study of the wood-destroying properties of Siberian strains of xylotrophic basidiomycetes (Armillaria, Ganoderma, Fomitopsis, Heterobasidion and Porodaedalea) are presented. The growth parameters and enzymatic activity of the strains were determined during solid-phase and deep cultivation. Fomitopsis pinicola and Ganoderma lucidum are fast-growing fungi on cellulose-, tannin-containing nutrient media, coniferous and deciduous plant
substrates
(source and hydrodynamically activated). The growth coefficient on media with tannin and Na-carboxymethyl cellulose is more than 45; on plant
substrates
- more than 30. The strains exhibit a different growth reaction to the preliminary activation of birch sawdust (growth acceleration / growth slowdown / indifference). The maximum wood-destroying activity on wood of A. sibirica noted for the fungi A. borealis, G. tsugae, G. lucidum, F. pinicola, and P. niemelaei. The decrease in substrate mass was 8-11%; the amount of polysaccharides decreased on average 1.4 times mainly due to the fermentolysis of hard-hydrolyzable polysaccharides. High enzymatic activity of fungi observed during solid-phase and deep cultivation with an inducer. The maximum activity of phenol oxidase is characteristic of G. tsugae (1.21 units/g·s); carboxymethyl cellulase - for F.pinicola and G. lucidum strains (11.8 and 10.3 units/ml, respectively); xylanases - for H. abietinum (3.8 u/ml). The maximum accumulation of extracellular protein observed in F. pinicola (0.89 mg/ml). According to the totality of rapid test indicators, quantitative determination of enzymatic activity, growth parameters on lignocellulosic

Аннотация:
The paper is devoted to an investigation of two-conductor suspended-substrate resonators. For the purpose of miniaturization conductors of a resonator are folded. Four types of the resonator differing in conductors’ configurations were considered. Their Q0-factors and resonant frequencies were studied. Based on results of the study two types of the resonator appeared unsuitable for an application in compact filters. Two other types were investigated in concern of their interaction: dependencies of coupling coefficients versus space between resonators and versus distance from substrate’s surfaces, and package’s covers were obtained. Based on the dependences a type of the resonator suitable for designing compact BPF was chosen. A four-pole BPF was simulated and fabricated. Good agreement between simulated and experimental results is observed. The main filter’s characteristics are the next: substrate has ε = 80, thickness 0.5 mm, lateral sizes 0.13λg × 0.09λg (18.7mm× 13.2 mm). The central frequency is 305 MHz; bandwidth is 39 MHz; passband minimum insertion loss is 2.0 dB; passband return loss is less −14.6dB; −40 dB stopband width is 480 MHz.

A method aiming to widen the upper stopband in a microwave bandpass filter based on two-conductor suspended-substrate stripline resonators is described in this letter. Applicability of the method is illustrated by simulating and fabricating fourth-order filter that has a very wide upper stopband: Δfstop/f0 = 7.92 measured at a level -50 dB, which is achieved because the widths of the inner resonators in the structure are 1.4 times greater than that of the outer ones.

Аннотация:
A compact microstrip resonator based on the interdigital structure is proposed. The resonator has several times higher unloaded quality factor compared to similar resonators presented previously and can even reach the Q-factor of a regular λ/4 resonator. The size of the resonator can be significantly reduced with a substantial increase in quality factor by incrementing the number of fingers in the interdigital structure. In addition, for each gap between the fingers, there exist an optimal number of fingers that correspond to the maximum Q-factor. An extension of the upper stopband for a bandpass filter designed using the resonator can be achieved by the interconnection of the fingers in each of the comb structures. The simulation results are proven by fabricated resonators and a fourpole bandpass filter. For the central frequency of 2000 MHz and 16.2% fractional bandwidth, the lateral size of the filter is only 11.5mm × 3.8 mm for alumina substrate (eps = 9.8). The filter has an upper stopband up to 5.8f0 at the level −40 dB.

Аннотация:
Multilayer photonic crystal structures with bleaching layers are being investigated. In order to calculate the characteristics of ultra-wideband filters on their basis, T-lines lossless model was used. Amplitude-frequency characteristics for the synthesized filters of 5th, 11th and 17th orders are given. It is proved that by a significant increase in filter N order, the difference between the connection coefficients of central resonators' layers' becomes negligible. This makes it possible to develop 27-order filter, in which almost half of the layers are realized by periodic interchange of only two identical high-contrast materials. The investigated band-pass filters, including the ones on a glass substrate, have high frequency-selective properties at a relative bandwidth of 80%.

Аннотация:
The interaction between armchair carbon and boron nitride nanotubes (NT) with ferromagnetic transition metal (TM) surfaces, namely, Ni(111) and Co(0001), was studied by means of density functional theory. Different configurations of composite compartments mutual arrangement were considered. Partial densities of states and spin density spatial distribution of optimized structures were investigated. Influence of ferromagnetic substrate on nanotubes' electronic properties was discussed. The values of spin polarization magnitude at the Fermi level are also presented and confirm the patterns of spin density spatial distribution. © 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Аннотация:
The magnetic anisotropy of 10 nm iron films deposited in an ultra high vacuum on the Si(001) surface and on the Si(001) over caped by 1.5 nm layer of SiO2 was investigated. There is in-plane uniaxial magnetic anisotropy caused by oblique sputtering in the Fe films on a SiO2 buffer layer. The easy magnetization axis is always normal to the atomic flux direction but the value of the anisotropy field is different depending on the axial angle among sputtering direction and the substrate crystallographic axes. It is argued that the uniaxial magnetic anisotropy results from elongated surface roughness formation during film deposition. Several easy magnetization axes are found in Fe/Si(001) film without the SiO2 buffer layer. The mutual orientation of the main easy axes and Si crystallographic axes indicates that there is epitaxial growth of Fe/Si(001) film with the following orientation relative to the substrate: Fe[100] ?Si[110]. The anisotropy energy of Fe/Si(001) film is estimated by simulation of angle dependence of remnant magnetization m r as the sum of the mr angle plot from uniaxial anisotropy (induced by oblique deposition) and the polar plot from biaxial magnetocrystalline anisotropy.
