Аннотация: Due to their unique properties, organosols of silver nanoparticles are widely used in optical and semiconductor devices, to produce electrically and thermally conductive films, as catalysts, antibacterial materials, etc. This work proposes a simple and highly productive method for the preparation of silver organosols, which have a metal concentration as high as 1800 g/L and contain spherical nanoparticles with low polydispersity and a median size of 9.1 nm. The method consists in the initial preparation of silver nanoparticle hydrosols with a concentration of higher than 30 g/L followed by the transfer of the NPs into an organic phase of o-xylene. A set of physical research methods has been employed to study the regularities of the extraction of silver nanoparticles with o-xylene in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and ethanol and to determine the optimal process conditions, under which the extraction degree is as high as 62.5%. It has been found that bromine anions contained in CTAB molecules cause the aggregation of some amount of silver nanoparticles with the formation of silver metal sediment in the aqueous phase. According to X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy data, the sediment contains bromide ions (up to 4 at %) on the particle surface. Organosols synthesized under optimal conditions are stable for more than 7 months and withstand repeated cycles of drying and redispersing. Silver organosols have been used to obtain metal films with an electrical conductivity of about 68 500 S/cm, which increases to 412 000 and 509 500 S/cm (87.8% of the electrical conductivity of bulk silver) after thermal treatment at 150 and 250°C, respectively.

Аннотация: Layered two-dimensional materials, whose properties dramatically differ from their bulk precursors, are of great theoretical and applied importance. Recently, a layered 2D material, an analog of a natural mineral, valleriite, in which quasi-monoatomic Cu−Fe−S sheets alternate with brucite-like ones, has been prepared using a simple hydrothermal synthesis procedure. The features of the electronic structure of these materials make it possible to propose them as new materials for a wide field of applications such as (electro)photocatalysis, high-capacity batteries, etc. In this work, nanocomposite materials have been prepared via immobilization of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) from citrate hydrosols on the surface of the synthesized valleriites having different compositions of hydroxide layers, which control the surface charge density. According to X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy-dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDX), and selected area electron diffraction (SAED) data, AuNPs are immobilized on valleriite nanoflakes, which have lateral sizes of 150–200 nm and thicknesses of several tens of nanometers, as isolated metal nanoparticles with an average diameter of 11 nm. A small amount of aggregates indicates a high affinity of AuNPs for the valleriite surface. The amounts of immobilized gold are the same on all studied valleriites (~0.2%). This finding may be related to the simultaneous sorption of free citrate ions from the AuNP hydrosols, with these ions, according to zeta potential measurements, charging the surfaces of all studied valleriite samples to nearly the same negative value of –40 mV. According to the XPS data, the AuNPs immobilization markedly decreases the magnesium and oxygen contents on the surfaces of the synthesized valleriites due to the partial degradation/dissolution of the brucite layer. In addition, the amount of Fe3+ ions bound to OH groups decreases with a simultaneous increase in the fraction of Fe3+–O species. The TEM data have confirmed the preservation of the layered structure of valleriites after the immobilization of AuNPs.

Аннотация: The modulation and spectral characteristics of self-organized ensembles of nematic domains with the disclination lines non-aligned and aligned in a magnetic field have been studied using an electric field. The obtained experimental voltage dependences of the light transmission agree well with the dependences calculated using the model considerations. These dependences have been compared with the electro-optical characteristics of a homogeneous planar nematic layer. The amplitude component of the optical transmission determined by light scattering and the oscillating component caused by the phase modulation have been examined. The effect of the spectral dispersion of transmission on the electro-optical characteristics of domain ensembles has been evaluated.

Аннотация: Изобретение относится к области систем радиосвязи и предназначено для организации каналов двунаправленной связи с устройствами, находящимися внутри металлических экранов, и может быть применено, например, в медицине для обмена данными с имплантируемыми устройствами, заключенными в металлический корпус; в робототехнике для обмена данными с устройствами, полностью закрытыми в металлический корпус. Техническим результатом изобретения является обеспечение возможности двунаправленной передачи сигналов систем связи через металлический экран. Устройство для двунаправленной передачи сигналов систем связи через металлический экран содержит два приемопередатчика и два резонатора, размещенных с двух сторон экрана. Первый резонатор подключен к первому приемопередатчику, а второй - ко второму. Резонаторы имеют коэффициент магнитной связи k больше критического. Центральная рабочая частота устройства совпадает с частотой второго максимума на амплитудно-частотной характеристике прямых потерь взаимодействующих резонаторов, измеренной без экрана. 5 ил.

Аннотация: Study of the mechanisms of the solid-state reactions in Sn/Fe/Cu thin films is interesting both from a fundamental point of view and from a view of the importance of emerging intermetallics in the technology of solder joints and thin-film lithium-ion batteries. By the integrated approach, including both X-ray phase analysis and local elemental analysis of the cross-sections of the films, the phase composition and the mutual arrangement of phases were studied, at various stages of the solid-state reaction occurring at different temperatures. The observed sequence of the appearing phases differs significantly from the expected one if the mass transfer took place by a volume diffusion through the forming layers.

Аннотация: С использованием электрического поля исследовано пропускание света, прошедшего через самоорганизованные ансамбли нематических доменов. Проведено сравнение модуляционных характеристик ансамблей, содержащих домены с неориентированными и сориентированными в магнитном поле линиями дисклинаций. Показано существенное снижение рассеяния света при ориентации линий. Получены расчетные и экспериментальные зависимости пропускания света от электрического напряжения, прикладываемого к жидкокристаллическим ячейкам. Приведены хорошо совпадающие экспериментальные и рассчитанные из полученных ранее выражений зависимости. Изучены осцилляции на кривых светопропускания. Рассмотрены суперпозиции обыкновенных и необыкновенных волн, распространяющихся через доменные ансамбли и однородные планарные слои жидких кристаллов. Представлены спектральные характеристики ансамблей.Using an electric field, the transmission of light passing through self-organized ensembles of nematic domains is studied. The modulation characteristics of ensembles containing domains with unoriented and magnetic-field-oriented disclination lines are compared. A significant decrease in light scattering is shown when the lines are oriented. Calculated and experimental dependences of light transmission on the electric voltage applied to liquid crystal cells are obtained. Well agreeing experimental and calculated dependences obtained from the previously expressions are given. Oscillations on light transmission curves are studied. Superpositions of ordinary and extraordinary waves propagating through domain ensembles and homogeneous planar LC layers are considered. The spectral characteristics of the ensembles are presented.

Аннотация: A method for electrically controlled synchronous mode tuning in the transmittance and reflectance spectra of a photonic structure consisting of an asymmetric dielectric Fabry-Perot microcavity and an ultrathin metallic film has been proposed. The excitation of a broadband Tamm plasmon polariton at a metal/Bragg mirror interface is accompanied by the two phenomena opposing one another. Due to the strong absorption induced by the metal, a sufficient rejection level in the reflection of the off-resonant radiation has been obtained in a wide spectral range, which almost coincides with the photonic band gap, while at the cavity mode frequencies the structure becomes transparent for the reflected radiation. This leads to the appearance of a series of narrow resonance peaks in the reflectance spectra that coincide in frequency with the transmittance peaks. Based on the structural transformations in the dual-frequency nematic liquid crystal used as a photonic structure defect, the tuning of the modes corresponding to the extraordinary waves to both the short- and long-wavelength spectral ranges has been implemented.

Аннотация: The study of the formation of the Cu6Sn5 intermetallic compound in Sn(55 nm)/Cu(30 nm) thin bilayer films was carried out directly in the column of a transmission electron microscope (electron diffraction mode) by heating the film sample from room temperature to 300oC and recording the electron diffraction patterns. The thin films formed as a result of a solid state reaction were monophase and consisted of the η-Cu6Sn5 hexagonal phase. The temperature range for the formation of the η-Cu6Sn5 phase was determined. The estimate of the effective interdiffusion coefficient of the reaction suggests that the main mechanism for the formation of the Cu6Sn5 intermetallic is diffusion along the grain boundaries and dislocations.

Аннотация: Negative and zero thermal expansion (NTE and ZTE) materials are widely adopted to eliminate the harmful effect from the “heat expansion and cool contraction” effect and frequently embrace novel fundamental physicochemical mechanisms. To date, the manipulation of NTE and ZTE materials has mainly been realized by chemical component regulation. Here, we propose another method by making use of the anisotropy of thermal expansion in noncubic single crystals, with maximal tunability from the integration of linear NTE, ZTE and positive thermal expansion (PTE). We demonstrate this concept in borate optical crystals of AEB2O4 (AE = Ca or Sr) to make the light transmission temperature-independent by counterbalancing the thermal expansion and thermo-optics coefficient. We further reveal that such a unique thermal expansion behavior in AEB2O4 arises from the synergetic thermal excitation of bond stretching in ionic [AEO8] and rotation between covalent [BO3] groups. This work has significant implications for understanding the thermal excitation of lattice vibrations in crystals and promoting the functionalization of anomalous thermal expansion materials.

Аннотация: The formation of the Cu6Sn5 intermetallic in Sn(55nm)/Cu(30nm) thin-film bilayers has been studied upon heating the film sample from room temperature to 300°C directly in a column of a transmission electron microscope in the electron diffraction mode with recording electron diffraction patterns. The thin films synthesized by the solid-state reaction have been found to be single-phase and consist of the η-Cu6Sn5 hexagonal phase (95‒260°C). It has been suggested basing on the effective interdiffusion coefficient (5 × 10‒16 m2/s) estimated in the course of the reaction that the main mechanism of the formation of the Cu6Sn5 thin films is diffusion along grain boundaries and dislocations.
