Аннотация:
In recent years interest has been shown in crystals with the scheelite structure (point symmetry group 4/m) as promising materials for acoustooptic devices. However, nearly all the work done so far has been on the NaBi(MoO4)2 and PbMoO4 crystals. In this paper the authors give the results of a study of the elastic and acoustooptic properties of NaBi(WO4)2 and LiBi(MoO4)2 crystals from a series of isomorphic compounds with the scheelite structure carried out in order to determine the extent of the changes in the elastic and acoustooptic properties of this series of crystals when the structural elements are changed.

The complete set of tensorial components of linear and nonlinear electromechanical properties for La3Ga5SiO14 piezoelectric crystals have been obtained. Аннотация:
Using an invariant-polarization ultrasound method, we have studied the velocities of elastic waves in the gneisses and amphibolites of the second rock mass of the Archean complex of the Kola superdeep borehole (7622-9456 m) and calculated the determinate components of acoustic tensor and elastic-constant tensor and their symmetry. The symmetry of the studied structures is shown to be rhombic and triclinic. The stereoprojections of mineral's crystallographic orientation and normals to microfractures are built by the data on the inversion of the azimuthal dependence of elastic constants.

SOEC temperature dependences of different quality quartz crystals were studied. The simplified phenomenological theory was applied to calculate second order elastic constant temperature dependences. The

acoustic waves propagation under the bias of temperature field or of the uniaxial mechanical pressure was considered. It was found that crystal quality changes have caused certain variations of some third order elastic constant values and some temperature coefficients.

Bulk
Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + Cu1-xLixO composites with x = 0, 0.003 and 0.06 and varied volume content of Cu1-xLixO have been prepared. Analysis of the transport properties of the composites has shown that they can be represented as a network of superconductor-semiconductor-superconductor (S-Sm-S) weak links. The dependence of the critical current density on the normal resistance for the composites studied shows a behaviour similar to that for single Josephson junctions. The experimental temperature dependences of the critical current are qualitatively described in terms of a theory of S-Sm-S junctions that takes into account the Andreev reflection of carriers from the S-Sm and Sm-S interfaces.

Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + BaPb1-xFexO3 composites representing a model of a network of superconductor-normal metal-superconductor (SNS) Josephson junctions with paramagnetic impurities (Fe) in the N layers have been prepared. The transport properties of the composites have been studied. An exponential decay of the critical current with increasing Fe content in the non-superconducting ingredient of the composite has been observed. Such a behaviour is accounted for in terms of the de Gennes proximity effect theory.

Аннотация:
We have studied the magnetoresistive effect in
bulk
1-2-3 YBCO + CuO and 1-2-3 YBCO + BaPb1-xSnxO3 composites prepared using the fast backing technique. We have found that the composites exhibit large magnetoresistance in low magnetic fields (< 100 Oe) for a broad temperature range. We have studied the experimental dependences of resistivity versus magnetic field at various transport current densities. The high-T-C superconductor (HTSC) based composites exhibit a much higher sensitivity to weak magnetic fields at liquid nitrogen temperature, compared to that for pure HTSC ceramics. This effect is attractive for practical applications and the composite materials can be used as active elements in magnetic field sensor devices.

Аннотация:
The experimental results of the effect of the magnetic field (up to 60 kOe) on the broadening of the resistive transition of
bulk
composites Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2CU3O7 (YBCO) + CuO are presented. These composites represent the network of the tunnel-type Josephson junctions where the copper oxide acts as a material forming barriers between YBCO crystallites. The mechanisms responsible for broadening of the resistive transition under magnetic field are discussed. The analysis of experimental R(7) dependences have shown that in the low field range 0-10(2) Oe, the R(7) dependences are described well by the Ambegaokar-Halperin (AH) model. In the range 10(3)-6 x 10(4) Oe, the dissipation follows Arrhenius law R similar to exp(-U(H)/k(B)T) characteristic for thermally activated flux creep model. In the range H similar to 10(2)-10(3), the crossover from AH to flux creep dissipation mechanisms occurs. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Аннотация:
The temperature dependence of resistivity and the
bulk
modulus are calculated on the Kondo lattice, with ring exchange between localized spins, using the spin-polaron and adiabatic approximation. Peak and zero values of the
bulk
modulus as functions of temperature and concentration are determined below the temperature of the transition to the paramagnetic state. The effects of the nearest order between transverse spin components and a value of the ring exchange between localized spins on magnetoresistivity are estimated.

Аннотация:
The magnetoresistive properties of
bulk
YBCO + CuO and YBCO + BaPb0.75Sn0.25O3 composites for different orientations of external magnetic field H and macroscopic transport current j have been measured. These composites exhibit large magnetoresistance in weak magnetic fields (< 100 Oe), which makes them promising candidates for practical application in magnetic field sensor devices. The difference between.( T) dependences, magnetoresistance curves R( H) and current - voltage characteristics measured for H parallel to j and H || j is observed indicating the presence of the Lorentz- force- dependent dissipation in the composites. Angular dependences of magnetoresistance R(theta) ( where theta = angle H, j) of the composites in weak magnetic fields are found to be proportional to sin(2)theta. This fact suggests that the flux flow in the intergrain boundaries is responsible for the large magnetoresistive effect observed in the composites.

Аннотация:
The hysteretic behavior of critical current j(C)(H) and magneto-resistance R(H) of composites Y-Ba-Cu-O + CuO have been studied and presented. The composites represent the network of tunnel-type Josephson junctions where copper oxide acts as a material forming barriers between superconducting (YBCO) crystallites. The characteristic features of R(H) and j(C)(H) dependences are discussed in the frames of the conception of "two level superconducting system" (the Josephson media and HTSC crystallites) which is realized in the composites under study. Аннотация:
A new method of preparation of
bulk
textured Bi2223 ceramics and Bi2223 + Ag composites, based on room temperature pressing of foamed precursor (Bi2223, Bi2223 + Ag) in a liquid medium, is proposed. SEM and XRD data prove a high degree of texture of the
bulk
samples obtained. Magnetic measurements performed in directions H parallel to c-axis and H parallel to a-b-planes of Bi2223 crystallites demonstrates anisotropy of magnetization confirming the texture of the ceramics. The materials obtained possess large diamagnetic response in the direction H parallel to a-b-planes of Bi2223 crystallites at both 77.4 and 4.2 K.
