Аннотация: Fresnel diffraction of light beams with a topological charge on a 2D regular amplitude transparency mask is studied. Numerical predictions show that the 3D optical lattices of optical vortices can be formed using the Talbot effect, with these predictions confirmed by the experimental reconstruction of all 3D optical vortex lattices. The periodicity of the 3D optical vortex lattices is determined by the light wavelength and periodicity of a transparency mask. Furthermore, it is shown that the optical vortices are created and annihilated during light propagation behind the mask with the preservation of the total topological charge. The 3D optical vortex lattices are considered to be tolerant to the perturbations induced by trapped particles caused by the features of the Talbot effect. The 3D optical vortex lattices open new possibilities for light-matter interactions and the related applications.

Аннотация: Bulk composites Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7+NiTiO3 and Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7+MgTiO3 with insulator volume content 7.5% and 15% modelling a network of Superconductor-Insulator-Superconductor (S-I-S) junctions have been prepared. The ?(T) dependences of composites HTSC+MgTiO3 are described well by the mechanism of Thermally Activated Phase Slippage (TAPS). The anomalous behavior of resistivity ?(T) of HTSC+NiTiO3 composites manifesting as a kink on ?(T) curves at some temperature Tm have been observed. In the temperature range Tm < T < TC the dissipation is Ohmic while below Tm the CVCs are strongly non-linear. This peculiarity is interpreted as arisen owing to Abrikosov vortices flow.

Аннотация: Solid solutions in the Cs-x(NH4)(1 - x)LiSO4 (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.35) system are grown and investigated. The birefringence (n(a) - n(b)) and the heat capacity are measured in the temperature range 100-530 K. The (x-T) phase diagram is constructed. It is demonstrated that the substitution of cesium for ammonium in the NH4LiSO4 crystal affects the transition temperatures in such a way that the region of the ferroelectric phase increases and the ferroelastic phase disappears at x 0.22. The character of the high-temperature transition remains unchanged (2beta = 0.24 +/- 0.01 for all compositions), but the birefringence anomaly and enthalpy decrease. As the concentration x increases, the low-temperature transition becomes more similar to a first-order transition: the birefringence jump deltan and the temperature hysteresis DeltaT increase. Аннотация: The temperature dependences of the intense magnetocaloric effect T (AD)(T, H) and the heat capacity C (p) (T) of the (La(0.4)Eu(0.6))(0.7)Pb(0.3)MnO(3) manganite are directly measured using adiabatic calorimetry. The experimental dependences T (AD)(T) are in satisfactory agreement with those calculated from the data on the behavior of the magnetization. The factors responsible for the absence of an anomaly in the experimental temperature dependence of the heat capacity C (p) (T) in the range of the magnetic phase transition are discussed.

Аннотация: A silicon structure doped with Ga using ion implantation has been investigated by admittance spectroscopy. It has been established that the presence of the Ga impurity, along with the B one, in the silicon structure leads to the appearance of the second peak in the temperature dependence of the real part of the impedance (admittance). Moreover, switching-on a magnetic field parallel to the sample plane shifts the singularities in the temperature curve to the high-temperature region. This results in the manifestation of both the positive and negative magnetoresistance effect upon temperature and magnetic field variation. It has been found by the standard admittance spectroscopy analysis of the impedance data that the energy structure of the investigated sample includes two interfacial energy levels ES1(0) = 42 meV and ES2(0) = 69.4 meV. As expected, these energies are consistent with the energies of B and Ga dopants. In a magnetic field, these levels increase by 3 meV for B and 2 meV for Ga, which induces the magnetoresistance effect. It has been demonstrated that the interfacial state-induced magnetoresistance effect can be tuned by ion implantation and dopant selection.

Аннотация: A study is reported of the structural, magnetic, and magneto-optic properties of Mn/Dy/Bi films obtained by multilayer technology. The maximum Kerr rotation angle in such films is shown to be theta(k) = 2.25 degrees. Possible reasons for such a large Kerr effect enhancement are considered, namely, an increase in the 6p - 3d transition probability caused by symmetry distortion, polarization of the Bi6p band, and a change in the density of states near the Fermi level. The latter reason has been analyzed by simulating the electronic structure of Mn/Dy/Bi through superposition of Dy levels on the MnBi band structure. This approach has revealed possible additional transitions which may be induced by the presence of a Dy buffer and could contribute to the Kerr magneto-optic effect. Аннотация: Experimental study, dedicated to understanding the effect of S-rich reduced fluids on the diamond-forming processes under subduction settings, was performed using a multi-anvil high-pressure split-sphere apparatus in Fe3C-(Mg,Ca)CO3-S and Fe0-(Mg,Ca)CO3-S systems at the pressure of 6.3 GPa, temperatures in the range of 900–1600 °C and run time of 18–60 h. At the temperatures of 900 and 1000 °C in the carbide-carbonate-sulfur system, extraction of carbon from cohenite through the interaction with S-rich reduced fluid, as well as C0-producing redox reactions of carbonate with carbide were realized. As a result, graphite formation in assemblage with magnesiowüstite, cohenite and pyrrhotite (±aragonite) was established. At higher temperatures (≥1100 °C) formation of assemblage of Fe3+-magnesiowüstite and graphite was accompanied by generation of fO2-contrasting melts - metal-sulfide with dissolved carbon (Fe-S-C) and sulfide-oxide (Fe-S-O). In the temperature range of 1400–1600 °C spontaneous diamond nucleation was found to occur via redox interactions of carbide or iron with carbonate. It was established, that interactions of Fe-S-C and Fe-S-O melts as well as of Fe-S-C melt and magnesiowüstite, were С0-forming processes, accompanied by disproportionation of Fe. These resulted in the crystallization of Fe3+-magnesiowüstite+graphite assemblage and growth of diamond. We show that a participation of sulfur in subduction-related elemental carbon-forming processes results in sharp decrease of partial melting temperatures (~300 °C), reducting the reactivity of the Fe-S-C melt relatively to FeC melt with respect to graphite and diamond crystallization and decrease of diamond growth rate.

Аннотация: Magneto-optical ellipsometry combines ellipsometry and magneto-optical Kerr effect measurements which are two powerful techniques. The main difficulty is usually in data processing as a number of parameters should be extracted from measured ellipsometric (ψ, Δ) and magneto-ellipsometric (δψ, δΔ) parameters. Standard procedure of solving magneto-ellipsometry equations involves numerical calculations. In this paper we show that it is possible to find out all elements of dielectric permittivity tensor without numerical calculation methods. It means that the inverse problem of magneto-optical ellipsometry can be solved analytically in the case of expansion of magneto-ellipsometric parameters δψ and δΔ with respect to two small parameters. We present a full set of mathematical expressions that enable us to calculate complex refraction index and complex magneto-optical parameter of a sample from magneto-optical ellipsometry measurements, thereby obtaining diagonal and off-diagonal complex elements of dielectric permittivity tensor. This analytical approach can be used in case of the contribution from magnetism into reflection coefficients being small.

Аннотация: The role of anisotropy of the thermal expansion in formation of piezocaloric effect (PCE) near ferroelectric phase transitions in NH4HSO4 was studied. Strong difference in linear baric coefficients and as a result in intensive and extensive PCE associated with the different crystallographic axes was found. PCE giving the main contribution to the barocaloric effect were determined at both phase transitions. Rather strong effect of the lattice dilatation on the tuning of PCE was observed. Comparative analysis of PCE at the phase transitions in different materials showed that NH4HSO4 can be considered as a promising solid-state refrigerant. A hypothetical cooling cycle based on alternate using uniaxial pressure along two axes was considered.

Аннотация: Anomalous mechanical materials, with counterintuitive stress-strain responding behaviors, have emerged as novel type of functional materials with highly enhanced performances. Here we demonstrate that the materials with coexisting negative, zero and positive linear compressibilities can squeeze three-dimensional volume compressibility into one dimension, and provide a general and effective way to precisely stabilize the transmission processes under high pressure. We propose a “corrugated-graphite-like” structural model and discover lithium metaborate (LiBO2) to be the first material with such a mechanical behavior. The capability to keep the flux density stability under pressure in LiBO2 is at least two orders higher than that in conventional materials. Our study opens a way to the design and search of ultrastable transmission materials under extreme conditions.
