Аннотация: The n-alkanethiols CH3(CH2)(n-1) on the crystal surface of gold (111) are considered. Couplings between atoms (C, H) of the n-alkanethiols were modelled by the Morse potential, and couplings between the n-alkanethiols and the crystal surface were modelled by 12-3 potentials. Because of symmetry Z(2) of the n-alkanethiols in a tilted state, the system can be reduced to the Ising model on the triangular lattice, the phase diagram of which can be explicitly considered. Depending on the choice of the coupling parameters, the ordered state of the system may form an incommensurate or 2X1 superstructure. The temperatures of the phase transition, equilibrium tilting, twisting, and azimuthal angles are found to depend on the Morse coupling constants.

Аннотация: Equilibrium states of the system of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of n-alkanethiol molecules HS(CH2)(n-1)(X) with polar group X chemiabsorbed on the Au(111) crystal surface are considered. The couplings between the atoms (C, H) of the n-alkanethiols are approximated by the Lennard-Jones potential. The couplings between the n-alkanethiols and the crystal surface are approximated by the 12-3 potential. The interactions of polar groups and the self-images with the metal substrate are taken into consideration. The phase-transition temperatures, the structural order and equilibrium tilt, and the twist and azimuthal angles of the macromolecules, which depend on the dipole moments, are found. Аннотация: The translational and orientation order of arg-cysteamine molecules chemiabsorbed on the Au(111) crystal surface is considered. Couplings between carbon, nitrogen, and hydrogen atoms of the n-alkanethiols are approximated by the Lennard-Jones potential. Moreover, hydrogen bonds between oxygen and nitrogen and dipole-dipole interactions of the dipole moments of different atomic groups are taken into account. It is found that molecules are arranged in a 2x2 lattice and have the total symmetry C(6)xZ(2). The critical temperature of the phase transition to the tilted state T-c1, which breaks the symmetry C-6, is estimated to be extremely high. The spontaneous breakdown of the remaining symmetry Z(2) leads to the twisted state of the molecules and has the critical temperature T-c2=340 K. (C) 2004 American Institute of Physics.

Аннотация: Optical nonlinearities in aggregates of nanoparticles formed in silver hydrosols (SHs) are studied under pico- and nanosecond pulsed laser excitation. The dependence of the nonlinear refractive index n (2) on the degree of hydrosol aggregation is studied experimentally at the wavelength lambda=1.064 mu m. It is found that n (2) changes sign when the degree of hydrosol aggregation is increased. Various physical effects occurring in resonant domains of the aggregates are analyzed using a simple physical model of two bound silver nanoparticles. The theory takes into account thermal, elastic, electrostatic, and light-induced effects. Experimental results are discussed in the context of this theory.

Аннотация: The redox potential of fine-dispersed and compact bimetallic powders of the palladium-gold system in hydrochloric acid solutions of H2PdCl4 at a temperature of 60A degrees C was studied. It was found that the redox potential increases with gold enrichment of the solid solution in accordance with the Nernst equation. The effect of gold-palladium particle size on this redox potential is shown. The morphology, sizes, and composition of bimetallic particles are determined via transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis.

Аннотация: In situ transmission electron microscopy investigations of the processes of solid-state synthesis and atomic ordering in bilayer Cu/Au nanofilms (atomic ratio, Cu : Au = 3 : 1) are conducted. It is found that solid-state synthesis starts at 170В°C. A Cu 3Au atomic-disordered structure (Fm3m space group; lattice con- stant, a = 3.76 В± 0.01 A) forms at 280В°C. Annealing the film for 1 hour at 380В°C produced a Cu 3AuI (L1 2 type) atomic-ordered superstructure, a Pm-3m space group, and lattice constant, a = 3.76 В± 0.01 a in the bulk of the film.

Аннотация: We propose an optodynamical model of interaction of pulsed laser radiation with aggregates of spherical metallic nanoparticles embedded into host media. The model takes into account polydispersity of particles, pair interactions between the particles, dissipation of absorbed energy, heating and melting of the metallic core of particles and of their polymer adsorption layers, and heat exchange between electron and ion components of the particle material as well as heat exchange with the interparticle medium. Temperature dependence of the electron relaxation constant of the particle material and the effect of this dependence on interaction of nanoparticles with laser radiation are first taken into consideration. We study in detail light-induced processes in the simplest resonant domains of multiparticle aggregates consisting of two particles of an arbitrary size in aqueous medium. Optical interparticle forces are realized due to the light-induced dipole interaction. The dipole moment of each particle is calculated by the coupled dipole method (with correction for the effect of higher multipoles). We determined the role of various interrelated factors leading to photomodification of resonant domains and found an essential difference in the photomodification mechanisms between polydisperse and monodisperse nanostructures.

Аннотация: The effect of 0, 0.5, and 1 μm-thick Ag interlayers on the chemical interaction between Pd and Fe in epitaxial Pd(0 0 1)/Ag(0 0 1)/Fe(0 0 1)/MgO(0 0 1) and Fe(0 0 1)/Ag(0 0 1)/Pd(0 0 1)/MgO(0 0 1) trilayers has been studied using X-ray diffraction, 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and magnetic structural measurements. No mixing of Pd and Fe occurs via the chemically inert Ag layer at annealing temperatures up to 400 °C. As the annealing temperature is increased above 400 °C, a solid-state synthesis of an ordered L10-FePd phase begins in the Pd(0 0 1)/Ag(0 0 1)/Fe(0 0 1) and Fe(0 0 1)/Ag(0 0 1)/Pd(0 0 1) film trilayers regardless of the thickness of the buffer Ag layer. In all samples, annealing above 500 °C leads to the formation of a disordered FexPd1−x(0 0 1) phase; however, in samples lacking the Ag layer, the synthesis of FexPd1−x is preceded by the formation of an ordered L12-FePd3 phase. An analysis of the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results shows that Pd is the dominant moving species in the reaction between Pd and Fe. According to the preliminary results, the 2.2 μm-thick Ag film does not prevent the synthesis of the L10-FePd phase and only slightly increases the phase’s initiation temperature. Data showing the ultra-fast transport of Pd atoms via thick inert Ag layers are interpreted as direct evidence of the long-range character of the chemical interaction between Pd and Fe. Thus, in the reaction state, Pd and Fe interact chemically even though the distance between them is about 104 times greater than an ordinary chemical bond length.

Аннотация: Interactions of pulsed laser radiation with resonance domains of multiparticle colloidal aggregates having an increasingly complex local environment are studied via an optodynamic model. The model is applied to the simplest configurations, such as single particles, dimers, and trimers consisting of mono- and polydisperse Ag nanoparticles. We analyze how the local environment and the associated local field enhancement by surrounding particles affect the optodynamic processes in domains, including their photomodification and optical properties.

Аннотация: Широкое распространение в терапии онкологических заболеваний в последние годы получили методы, основанные на применении различных типов наночастиц. Для повышения адресности Адресная деструкция злокачественных опухолей биоконъюгатами на основе аптамеров воздействия применяют различные молекулы, обладающие высокой специфичностью, одними из которых являются аптамеры. В работе исследовался эффект воздействия на опухоль конъюгатов наночастиц золота с аптамерами при воздействии лазера, а также оценивалась гибель клеток опухоли при использовании конъюгатов магнитных микродисков с аптамерами в условиях переменного магнитного поля. Исследование показало возможность применения исследуемых конъюгатов в качестве средств адресной деструкции опухоли.
Widespread in cancer therapy in recent years have become the methods based on the use of different types of nanoparticles. To improve the targeting of the impact are used various molecules having high specificity, some of them are aptamers. The paper studied the effect of influence on the tumor the conjugates of gold nanoparticles with aptamers at laser exposure, as well as tumor cell death was assessed after using the conjugates of magnetic microdiscs with aptamers in a variable magnetic field. The study showed the possibility of using the studied conjugates as agents of targeted destruction of tumor.

Аннотация: We study multilayered spherical nanoparticles with ideal absorption [1] for biomedical applications. The core of such particles consists of Si, SiO2 or alternative plasmonic materials [2], such as zinc oxide doped with aluminum, gallium and indium tin oxide whereas the outer shell consists of gold. We develop the algorithm for finding optimal geometry of ideally absorbing Au nanoparticles taking into account the quantum size effect that in multilayered metallic nanoshells plays a significant role.

Аннотация: Selective action of laser radiation on membranes of malignant cells has been studied in different regimes using conjugates of gold nanoparticles with oligonucleotides by the example of DNA aptamers. Under the conditions of a contact between a bioconjugate and a cell surface and the development of substantial and rapidly relaxing temperature gradients near a nanoparticle, the membranes of malignant cells alone are efficiently damaged due to the local hyperthermia of a cellular membrane. It has been shown that employment of pulsed instead of continuous wave laser radiation provides the localization of the damaging action, which does not involve healthy cells. © 2016, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Аннотация: Significant suppression of resonant properties of single gold nanoparticles at the surface plasmon frequency during heating and subsequent transition to the liquid state has been demonstrated experimentally and explained for the first time. The results for plasmonic absorption of the nanoparticles have been analyzed by means of Mie theory using experimental values of the optical constants for the liquid and solid metal. The good qualitative agreement between calculated and experimental spectra support the idea that the process of melting is accompanied by an abrupt increase of the relaxation constants, which depends, beside electronphonon coupling, on electron scattering at a rising number of lattice defects in a particle upon growth of its temperature, and subsequent melting as a major cause for the observed plasmonic suppression. It is emphasized that observed effect is fully reversible and may underlie nonlinear optical responses of nanocolloids and composite materials containing plasmonic nanoparticles and their aggregates in conditions of local heating and in general, manifest itself in a wide range of plasmonics phenomena associated with strong heating of nanoparticles. © 2016 Optical Society of America.

Аннотация: Присутствие арсенопирита является показателем золотоносности гидротермальной минерализации в месторождениях Олимпиада и Благодатное, где производится около 40 т золота ежегодно. Парагенетические ассоциации арсенопирита, морфология зёрен, кристаллическая структура и химический состав характеризуются значительной неоднородностью в пределах одного зерна, соседних зёрен, разновозрастных генераций, в различных участках рудных тел и в месторождениях. Кристаллизация минерала осуществлялась в интервале температур < 300–542.5 °С при изменчивой активности серы в растворах (log αS2 ⋍ -5.7... -14.6) как в различных пробах, так и зёрнах, принадлежащих одной выборке. Повышенные концентрации золота и других благородных металлов отмечены в арсенопиритах с избытком серы и с избытком мышьяка.
The presence of arsenopyrite is an indicator of gold in hydrothermal mineralization of the Olimpiada and Blagodatnoye deposits producing about 40t of gold annually. The paragenetic associations of arsenopyrite, the morphology of grains, the crystal structure and chemical composition are characterized by significant heterogeneity within a single grain, neighbouring grains, generations of different ages, in different parts of ore bodies and deposits. Mineral crystallization occurred in the temperature range of < 300–542.5 °С, with variable sulphur activity in solutions (log αS2⋍ –5.7…–14.6). The increased concentrations of gold and other precious metals are noted in arsenopyrite with excess of sulphur and excess of arsenic with reduced structural and chemical stoichiometry.
