This paper presents results of a spaceborne radar interferometry technique application for land subsidence observations in a coal mining area in Kuzbass, Russia. Joint analysis of radar interferometry
measurements
with simultaneous seismic observations shows that the land subsidence is triggered by seismic events, both natural and caused by human underground activity. Surface displacements are linked typically to the boundaries of block structures and correlate with the location of clusters of seismic events.

Аннотация:
A powder sample of CsMnMoO3F3 oxyfluoride has been prepared by solid state synthesis. The pyrochlore-related crystal structure of CsMnMoO3F3 has been refined by the Rietveld method at T = 298 K (space group Fd-3m, a = 10.59141(4) angstrom, V = 1188.123(8) angstrom(3); R-B = 3.44%). The stability of the cubic phase has been obtained over the temperature range T = 110-293 K by heat capacity
measurements
. Magnetic properties have been measured over the range of T = 2-300 K. The electronic structure of CsMnMoO3F3 has been evaluated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Chemical bonding effects have been discussed for all metal ions using binding energy difference parameters and wide comparison with related oxides and fluorides. The competition between O-2(-) and F- ions for metal valence electrons has been found.

Предложена методика восстановления засоленности естественных почв из их диэлектрических спектров. Методика основывается на недавно предложенной многорелаксационной обобщенной рефракционной диэлектрической модели для частотных спектров влажных почв (ОРДМВП). Точность восстановления засоленности влажных почв оценивается по статистической погрешности расчетов восстанавливаемых спектров комплексной диэлектрической проницаемости через коэффициент Пирсона r и стандартное отклонение s.

The complete Raman spectra of oxyfluoride Rb2KMoO 3F3 were obtained. At T ≈ 185 K phase transitions were found. Neutron diffraction
measurements
were performed on the iron borate DyFe3(BO3)4 to investigate details of the crystallographic structure, the low temperature magnetic structure and its magnetic properties. DyFe3(BO3)4 adopts at room temperature the P3121 symmetry and becomes antiferromagnetic below TN = 39 K. Both, the rare earth and the iron sublattice, follow the same magnetic propagation vector τ = [0, 0, ½] which leads to a doubling of the crystallographic unit cell in the c-direction. The easy axis anisotropy of the rare earth determines the moment orientation to be mainly along c. No spin reorientation is found between TN and 1.5 K, however, a small anomaly in the thermal dependence of the unit cell a-parameter is found at about 27 K which could be connected to repopulation of low lying Kramers doublets of Dy3+. The magnetic moment value of the Fe-moment is at 1.5 K with μFe = 4.5 μB only slightly smaller than expected for an S = 5/2 ion while the Dy moment is strongly reduced and amounts only to μDy = 6.4 μB.

In this paper we are reported about a peculiarity of the crystal structure and the magnetic state of TmFeTi2O7. The compound TmFeTi2O7 has been synthesized by the solid-phase reaction method. Using X-ray diffraction method the disorder in the distribution of the iron ions over five nonequivalent crystal sites was observed, also the populations of the iron atoms positions were determined. We show that below Tf = 6 K the magnetization of TmFeTi2O7 depends on the magnetic history of the sample. There are indications for spin glass state. This results allow us to assume the state of spin glass is realized below freezing temperature Tf = 6 K in TmFeTi2O7. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Аннотация:
Global geomagnetic data are inverted for detecting a high-conductivity layer at depths of 1500-2000 km to test the hypothesis of a magnesiowustite phase transition in the lower mantle. We present the results of processing of both synthetic and global data-average monthly values of the geomagnetic field from 1920 to 2009. The inverted global data are consistent with the possible existence of a high-conductivity layer at great depths in the lower mantle.

measurements
have been performed on the La0.7Sr0.3Mn0.85 Nb 0.15 - x 5 + Mg x 2 + O3 stoichiometric compounds. With rise of the Mg2+ content the formal oxidation state manganese increases from +3 ( x = 0 ) up to +3.55 ( x = 0.15 ) . The compositions with 0 ⩽ x ≤ 0.08 undergo a structural transition from rhombohedral to orthorhombic symmetry below room temperature whereas x = 0.1 and x = 0.15 compounds are rhombohedral down to 2 K. The structural parameters evidence that the orthorhombic phase is not long-range orbitally ordered and that the structural transition is associated with a steric effect. The Mg-free compound is ferromagnetic with the Curie point of around 150 K and a magnetic moment of 3.1 μ B /Mn. The substitution of Nb5+ with Mg2+ leads to a gradual weakening of the ferromagnetic component while in the x = 0.15 compound A-type antiferromagnetic short-range order is stabilized in spite of macroscopic R 3 ¯ c symmetry. All the compositions show insulating behavior. It is suggested that ferromagnetism is originated from superexchange interactions via oxygen. Covalence enhances the positive part of the superexchange interactions whereas structural disorder induced by Nb5+ and Mg2+ ions leads to suppression of ferromagnetism.

measurements
were performed for a single crystal wafer of PMN in the temperature range of 170-250 K applying an electric field E = 3.0 kV/cm along the [111] direction. The heat capacity anomalies related to the phase transition at Tc = 210 K upon zero field heating after field cooling and at Tc = 223 K upon field cooling have been found. The results obtained are discussed together with the data of previous studies in the frame of the spherical random bondrandom field model.

Аннотация:
A new type of nanocomposite materials based on maghemite, γ-Fe2O3, nanoparticles dispersed in borate glasses co-doped with low contents of iron together with the larger radius element combinations: Y and Bi, or Sm and Pb, or Y and Pb is studied. Nanoparticles arise as a result of heat treatment of the glasses which gives them properties characteristic of magnetically ordered substances. Transmission electron microscopy and XRD show that only one magnetic phase, namely γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles, occurs in glasses subjected to the thermal treatment at 540 °C during 24 h independently on the doping element nature. At the same time doping element and their concentrations ratio in every combination affect the particles average size and glass magnetic properties, such as magnetization temperature dependences, Faraday rotation value and electron magnetic resonance spectrum characteristics.

Аннотация:
The technique for interpreting magneto-ellipsometric
measurements
is proposed. The model of a homogeneous semi-infinite medium for reflecting layered magnetic structures in the presence of the magnetic field in the configuration of the magneto-optical equatorial Kerr effect is considered. Based on the analysis of the Fresnel coefficients with regard to the magneto-optical parameter Q appearing in the off-diagonal elements of the permittivity tensor, the expressions are obtained using which the refraction (n) and absorption (k) coefficients, the real (Q (1)) and imaginary (Q (2)) parts of the magneto-optical parameter can be found from the ellipsometric (psi(0) and Delta(0)) and magneto-ellipsometric (psi(0) + delta psi and Delta(0) + delta I")
measurements
. The results will allow to measure and analyze the magnetic characteristics such as hysteresis loops and the coercitive force of layered nanostructures using the conventional ellipsometric equipment.

Аннотация:
The possibility of cation substitution in pyroxenes allows the investigation the gradual change of structural and magnetic properties under doping in these compounds. Here, Na0.5Li0.5FeGe2O6 was prepared by the standard solid-phase reaction method and has been investigated using X-ray and neutron powder diffraction, and further characterized by magnetic and calorimetric
measurements
. The crystal structure of Na0.5Li0.5FeGe2O6 at 300 K is monoclinic C2/c (a=10.0333(1), b=8.8136(1), c=5.5295(9) Å, β=108.921(1)°). Calorimetric investigations indicate a displacive first order phase transition at T=271±1 K which is accompanied by the appearance of superstructure reflections in the X-ray patterns. At this transition Na0.5Li0.5FeGe2O6 undergoes a space group change from C2/c to P21/c (a=9.9692(3), b=8.8545(3), c=5.4752(2) Å, β=108.494(1)°). Magnetic order has been found below the Néel temperature TN≈18 K and has been refined from neutron diffraction. The quasi-low-dimensional magnetic spin system Na0.5Li0.5FeGe2O6 exhibits a collinear antiferromagnetic structure with the space group Pa21/c and the doubling of the unit cell along the crystallographic a-axis of the pyroxene crystal (propagation vector k=(1/2, 0, 0)). The critical modes which are responsible for the phase transition from C2/c to P21/c symmetry and for the magnetic transition from paramagnetic to antiferromagnetic state have been determined and their role in the transition is described. They are also the relevant mechanism driving the magnetic order in LiFeGe2O6.

A mono-frequency dielectric model for the agricultural soil both thawed and frozen has been developed. The model is based on the soil dielectric
measurements
carried out in the ranges of volumetric moisture from 0,03 to 0,51 cm3/ cm3, dry soil density from 1.12 to 1.64 g/cm3, and temperature from -30 to 25°C (heating run), at the frequency of 1.4 GHz used in the SMOS mission. To fit the results of
measurements
of the soil complex refractive index (CRI) as a function of soil moisture, the refractive mixing model was applied. As a result, the parameters of the refractive mixing model linked to soil solids, as well as the bound, transient, and free soil water components were derived as a function of temperature. The error of the proposed dielectric model was shown to be in the order of the dielectric measurement error itself. © 2015 IEEE.

A small highly sensitive thin magnetic film magnetometer was developed and researched. The use of special thin magnetic films and modern radio components allowed creating a small field sensor with high sensitivity.

Аннотация:
Рассмотрено несколько вариантов конструкции коаксиальных ячеек, рассчитанных на работу в линии передачи с волновым сопротивлением 50 Ом и предназначенных для измерения комплексной диэлектрической проницаемости дисперсных и жидких материалов в диапазоне частот от 0.01 до 16 ГГц. Проведено численное моделирование коаксиальных ячеек с использованием метода конечных разностей во временной области. Проанализировано распространение ТЕМ-волны через ячейки и рассчитаны их S-параметры. Выполнен сравнительный анализ рассмотренных ячеек и сделаны выводы о возможности их использования для проведения точных измерений комплексной диэлектрической проницаемости в диапазоне частот от 0.01 до 16 ГГц. Рассмотрены особенности различных вариантов конструкции коаксиальной ячейки с точки зрения технической реализации. Приведены экспериментальные результаты коэффициента стоячей волны напряжения для одного из вариантов предлагаемых конструкций. Наблюдается хорошее согласование экспериментальных данных с результатами численного моделирования в диапазоне частот 0.01-12 ГГц. Расхождение модельных и экспериментальных данных в диапазоне частот 12-16 ГГц можно объяснить погрешностями в геометрии ячейки и конечной проводимостью используемых проводников.
Some variants of coaxial measuring cells for 50 Ohm line and complex permittivity
measurements
of liquid and disperse matters in 0.01-16 GHz frequency band has been considered. Numerical modeling using finite difference method in time domain has been carried out. TEM-wave propagation through cells has been analyzed and S-parameters were calculated. Comparative analysis of considered cells has been carried out. Conclusions about its application to complex permittivity measurement in frequency band 0.01-16 GHz has been formulated. Technical features of arbitrary variants have been considered. Experimental results of the voltage standing wave ratio for one of the variants of the proposed designs have been presented. Good agreement between the experimental data and the results of numerical modeling in a frequency band 0.01-12 GHz is observed. The disagreement between the model and experimental data in the frequency band 12-16 GHz can be explained by the errors in the cell geometry and the finite conductivity of the conductors.

Аннотация:
Metallic nickel nanoparticles of various sizes are formed in a thin near-surface layer in an amorphous SiO2 matrix during 40-keV Ni+ ion implantation at a dose of (0.25-1.0) x 10(17) ions/cm(2). The micro-structure of the irradiated layer and the crystal structure, morphology, and sizes of nickel particles formed at various irradiation doses are studied by transmission electron microscopy and electron diffraction. The magnetooptical Faraday effect and the magnetic circular dichroism in an ensemble of nickel nanoparticles are studied in the optical range. The permittivity (epsilon) over cap tensor components are calculated for the implanted samples using an effective medium model with allowance for the results of magnetooptical
measurements
. The spectral dependences of the tensor (epsilon) over cap components are found to be strongly different from those of a continuous metallic nickel film. These differences are related to a disperse structure of the magnetic nickel phase and to a surface plasma resonance in the metal nanoparticles.

measurements
of ultrashort pulses in wide spectral range without any angular tuning of nonlinear photonic crystal. Nonuniformity of reciprocal superlattice vectors spectrum of random structure does not affect the accuracy of measurement.
