Аннотация: Bulk composites Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7+NiTiO3 and Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7+MgTiO3 with insulator volume content 7.5% and 15% modelling a network of Superconductor-Insulator-Superconductor (S-I-S) junctions have been prepared. The ?(T) dependences of composites HTSC+MgTiO3 are described well by the mechanism of Thermally Activated Phase Slippage (TAPS). The anomalous behavior of resistivity ?(T) of HTSC+NiTiO3 composites manifesting as a kink on ?(T) curves at some temperature Tm have been observed. In the temperature range Tm < T < TC the dissipation is Ohmic while below Tm the CVCs are strongly non-linear. This peculiarity is interpreted as arisen owing to Abrikosov vortices flow.

Tin-based inverse opal -- Intertype superconductivity -- Nanostructures
Аннотация: Magnetization hysteresis loops of tin samples with an inverted opal structure are presented. The sample formed by tin particles with the size of 70 and 128 nm is found to be a type-I superconductor. The tin sample formed by 80 and 42 nm particles demonstrates an analog of intertype superconductivity: features of both type-I and II superconductors are observed on the magnetization isothermal curves. A behavior of the irreversible and reversible magnetizations supports coexistence of type-I and II superconducting nanoparticles in this sample.

Аннотация: The temperature evolution of current-voltage characteristics (CVCs) of break junctions made from polycrystalline Y0.75Lu0.25Ba2Cu3O7 and La1.85Sr0.15CuO4 is investigated. The experimental CVCs have hysteretic features that reflect a part of a curve with negative differential resistance. The temperature evolution of the CVCs is discussed within the framework of the Kummel-Gunsenheimer-Nicolsky theory for superconductor/normal-metal/superconductor junctions considering multiple Andreev reflections. It is shown that the shape of the CVCs of break junctions is determined by the ratio of the number of "short" and "long" intergrain normal regions in the polycrystalline HTSC under investigation. Nanoparticles and nanorods -- Chemical preparation -- Superparamagnetism
Аннотация: We have synthesized magnetic powders of the magnetite-maghemite series by the chemical reaction of the FeSO4 iron salt and the natural arabinogalactan polysaccharide. These particles with a high magnetization value (∼ 300 Gs) represent a mixture of spherical particles and nanorods. Particles of a spherical shape (diameter of ∼ 5–6 nm) show a superparamagnetic behavior at room temperature, while rods with a diameter of ∼ 5 nm and a length of 30 nm are magnetic. We have prepared sol samples based on the nanoparticle aqueous solution of arabinogalactan. Our results on the magnetism of the circular dichroism (MCD) on sol are consistent with the of Mössbauer spectroscopy data.

Critical current -- Anizotropy -- BSCCO -- Texture -- Distribution function -- Magnetization -- Hysteresis loop
Аннотация: A misalignment of anisotropic crystallites causes small values of anisotropy and decreases the critical current density of textured polycrystalline superconductors. To relate the crystallite misalignment and out-plane anisotropy, the magnetic properties of the textured Bi2223 polycrystalline superconductor were investigated. A distribution of orientation angles of crystallites was determined using different data: scanning electron microscopy images and hysteresis magnetization loops when an external magnetic field was applied at different angles with respect to the texturing plane of the sample. It was demonstrated that the standard deviation of the distribution and the magnetic disorder angle of crystallites in textured samples can be determined from the magnetization data in perpendicular directions. These data may be either the irreversible magnetization measured for two different orientations of the sample or the simultaneously measured magnetization projections parallel and perpendicular to the magnetic field.

Аннотация: We discuss some peculiarities of the conduction electron motion in the vicinity of domain walls which lead to an anisotropy of the magnetoresistance. We also discuss the case of single crystals of ErRh4B4 and HoMo6S8 where magnetoresistance with the same qualitative features has been observed.

Аннотация: We report electronic transport measurements on high quality floating zone grown NaxCoO2 and Na0.41CoO2·0.6H2O single crystals. We find an in-plane electronic scattering minimum near 11 K and a clear charge ordering at approximately 50 K. The electronic and magnetic properties in hydrated and nonhydrated Na0.41CoO2 samples are similar at higher temperature, but evolve in markedly different ways below ∼50 K, where a strong ferromagnetic tendency is observed in the hydrated sample. Model calculations show the relationship of this tendency to the structure of the Fermi surface. The results, particularly the clear differences between the hydrated and nonhydrated material show a substantially enhanced ferromagnetic tendency upon hydration. Implications for superconductivity are discussed.

    Anomalous Properties and Coexistence of Antiferromagnetism and Superconductivity near a Quantum Critical Point in Rare-Earth Intermetallides / V. V. Val'kov, A. O. Zlotnikov // J. Experim. Theor. Phys. - 2013. - Vol. 116, Is. 5. - P. 817–822DOI 10.1134/S1063776113050129
Аннотация: Mechanisms of the appearance of anomalous properties experimentally observed at the transition through the quantum critical point in rare-earth intermetallides have been studied. Quantum phase transitions are induced by the external pressure and are manifested as the destruction of the long-range antiferromagnetic order at zero temperature. The suppression of the long-range order is accompanied by an increase in the area of the Fermi surface, and the effective electron mass is strongly renormalized near the quantum critical point. It has been shown that such a renormalization is due to the reconstruction of the quasiparticle band, which is responsible for the formation of heavy fermions. It has been established that these features hold when the coexistence phase of antiferromagnetism and superconductivity is implemented near the quantum critical point.
