Аннотация: We have experimentally studied optical and magneto-optical spectra of solutions of crude oils of different origin and their heavy fractions in the visible spectral range. Magnetic circular dichroism of oil in the wavelength range similar to 550 nm has been revealed. We show that the shape of the spectra of this dichroism depends on the origin of crude oil, with the magnetic dichroism magnitude being proportional to the concentration of the oil in the solution. A comparison of the data of magneto-optical spectroscopy with electron paramagnetic resonance spectra and chemical composition of samples has allowed us to conclude that the observed magneto-optical activity is determined by the occurrence of VO2+ complexes in the oil samples. The revealed magneto-optical activity of crude oil can form the basis of a unique method of analysis of the composition and properties of oils of different origin and heavy fractions thereof.

Аннотация: Optical and magneto-optical properties of solutions of crude oil of different origin (i.e., taken from different fields) are studied in the visible and near-UV region of optical emission. Magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectra of oil are obtained in the vicinity of wavelengths of ~410 nm, 533 nm, and 576 nm. It is demonstrated that the intensity of the MCD signal depends on the origin of crude oil, and it is proportional to the oil concentration in the solution. The comparison of the magneto-optical spectroscopy data with the chemical composition of samples allows us to conclude that the observed magneto-optical activity is determined by the presence of VO2+ complexes in the oil samples studied. The revealed magneto-optical activity of conventional oil can form a basis of a new method for the analysis of the composition and properties of oil of different origin.

Аннотация: Two phases, paramagnetic and ferromagnetic, were shown by the magnetic resonance method to coexist below the temperature T-C in La0.7Pb0.3MnO3 single crystals exhibiting colossal magnetoresistance. The magnetic resonance spectra were studied in the frequency range 10-78 GHz. The specific features in the behavior of the spectral parameters were observed to be the strongest at the temperatures corresponding to the maximum magnetoresistance in the crystals. The concentration ratios of the paramagnetic and ferromagnetic phases in the samples were found to be sensitive to variations in temperature and external magnetic field. This behavior suggests realization of the electronic phase separation mechanism in the system under study. (C) 2002 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".

Аннотация: Based on the spin Hamiltonian and taking into account the cubic invariant of the crystal field and the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, the weak ferromagnetic moment along the triad axis and the basal anisotropy of FeBO3 crystals are calculated in the approximation of second-order perturbation theory.

Аннотация: The discovery of Eu2+-doped high-efficiency red phosphors remains a vital challenge for white light-emitting diode (WLED) applications. It is therefore urgent to find effective strategies managing the oxidation state to help reduce Eu3+ to Eu2+ and accordingly increase the photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY). Herein, a new red-emitting SrLaScO4:Eu phosphor is designed, and the PLQY is enhanced from 13% to 67% under 450 nm excitation by employing (NH4)2SO4-assisted sintering. Combined structural analysis, optical spectroscopy, and theoretical calculation reveal that predominant Eu2+ prefers to occupy the Sr2+ sites in the SrLaScO4 enabling red emission, and a competitive site occupation of Eu3+ in La3+ can be restrained, and the reduction mechanism of Eu3+ to Eu2+ originating from the (NH4)2SO4 addition is analyzed. The fabricated WLED device using red-emitting SrLaScO4:Eu and yellow-emitting Y3(Al,Ga)5O12:Ce3+ exhibits a high color-rendering index of 86.7 at a low correlated color temperature of 4005 K. This work provides a feasible reduction strategy for guiding the development of high-efficiency Eu2+-doped red phosphor for WLED applications.
